  • My Inishowen Song Project: Inishowen 1, presented by Jim MacFarland
As part of the online Inishowen Singing Weekend 2021, we are showing seven short films, highlighting singers & song communities who have a special connection with Inishowen and the Festival. Two of these feature Inishowen singers. The song performances were all recorded in Inishowen and have been selected from 'The Inishowen Song Project', a free digital exhibition we host in collaboration with the Irish Traditional Music Archive.
The featured singers from Inishowen 1 are:
Jim Doherty singing 'John the Boiler' (1988)
Mary Anne Canny singing 'The Flower of Dunaff Hill' (1988)
Paddy Kelly singing 'Sweet Americay' (1988)
Michael McGonigle singing 'Dewy Dens of Yarrow' (1995)
Dan McGonigle singing 'The Maid of Sweet Bellevue' (1995)
Margaret McEleney singing 'The Jacket So Blue' (2001)
This year all events at the online 2021 Singing Weekend are free to attend but if you are able to make a donation, no matter the amount, to support ITSC activities, we would be really grateful. You can support ITSC here: inishowensinging.ie/support/
The Inishowen Singing Weekend is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and Donegal County Council.
