We moved here to Ireland Dec 2019. We were just making plans to travel and see places including Lisdoonvarna, and the you know what happened! So we've been nowhere except Carrick on Shannon and once or twice, Sligo, for over a year now. Maybe one day...
@@dellhell8842 Martin has just announced eased restrictions largely for the v££cinated. Since we won't be taking the cure I think we'll have to get used to our immediate surroundings (no probs with anyone's choice, I just believe in body autonomy) :)
I have found out more about the history and goings on on Lisdoonvarna in the last week than I do my home town...You tube algorithm has offed my nothing but Lisdoonvarna for a week now.
And I was just passing Lisdoonvarna cause i was on my way to Doolin . Doolin in the end of 1960:s was called Mecka of the folk music and so it was. To see this film is interesting cause i didnt know. Coming from Sweden Stockholm and loving Irish Folk music. I put up the tent near the bridge in Doolin so it was near to one of the existing pubs. I dont remember the name of the most famous
WE ONCE DROPPED MY MOTHER OFF AT LISDOONVARNA ~~~ SHE FANCIED SHE WAS GOING TO HOOK HERSELF A RICH FARMER. DRIVING AWAY AND SEEING HER IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR STANDING THERE ~~ I COULD HARDLY DRIVE FOR LAUGHING ~~~~~~ SHE DID NOT HOOK HERSELF A RICH FOOL ~~~ THEY ALL HAD MORE SENSE. A VERY HAPPY MEMORY THOUGH.
Back in dim days you might get an auld squeeze if you were lucky but there'd be no Dippin the auld wick... The girls'd be fierce careful not to get in the family way...
I love this channel!

Things should be relatively normal next year. At least for non-international travel. You can catch up for lost time. Make the most it. Life is short.

Wow that name of that town is so Anglicised (aka dumbed down). It’s all phonetic and there’s nothing Irish about it, sad to see.
