Running this amp on 4 eXcelon 6.5s and 2 Kicker CompR 12s. I have my own personal concert every time I start the car. The clarity of sound from classical to Houston screw is mind-blowing.
Awesome amp!
Did you install it yourself ? Any advice ? Thanks !
Same! Best car audio investment I ever made. My Excelon will literally run people out of my Hummer.
This amp is no joke, Running Memphis front/rear with a single Kicker 12 (downfiring) in a Silverado, it performs well beyond what I expected.
Keep pumping out the amp tests we can't get enough!! Good way to earn subscribers 👍🏻
More to come!
This is the single amp answer to your rides sound system. The Excelon can do it all without breaking a sweat. And it's loud as hell with very little distortion. You grab one of these cause the next item you'll be upgrading is your speakers. Trust me
I have the old model of this been running since 03 still strong !!
I have an almost 4yr old pair of their 3004 4ch and the power ratings are about the same.
Great amps for sure.
great little amp... I have one currently running in my car.
Very nice!
Awesome, been pondering picking one up for placing under the passenger seat since October.
@@stang2v442 Yes, definitely a good choice for under the seat, I had mine there originally before moving it to the trunk.
@@TheJoelb52 Awesome! Thanks
Btw, love seeing the Meade unit in your tests! Been following Steve's builds for awhile.
Cool, thanks!
Been following meade since 2011.. He has changed... He's not no where who he was... He thinks he's better than you or i
@@bobdodge3171 Perhaps he's changed, or perhaps he's just taking advantage of the way social media works. Either way, I understand what you are saying. All that said, he has been a major part of testing and getting the most out of equipment, which could very well have made manufacturers be honest, and raise their respective bars.
@@brawldawg8729yes hes has... And i and many have thanked him for what he did and does.. i understand him testing units.. Catching the success or failures..wish he be more professional on the single criticism
But he attacks ppl for their own opinion..
He could just simply say i have results..
And not be insulting to ppl as he does..
It's hurts his business more than it helps..
Ge should shed a positive light on things instead of saying.. Your using brands i never heard of thats why that failed...
I seen him say that...and that brand produces 75% of what was being used..
He just didn't know so he put his guard and defended himself..but in the wrong way.. Sorry drawn out im tired..
G'night my fellow audio brother
@@bobdodge3171 No apologies, bro! Your experience and opinion is absolutely valid. I appreciate you.
Very nice indeed for a very small amplifier size
Just got this amp running focal components and 1-12" Kicker compR Sounds amazing imo. Gotta sound deaden soon though.
Nice! 👌😎
I have this Amp for my truck ...works well!!
I guess it's pretty off topic but does anyone know of a good site to stream new movies online?
@Milan Noah I use FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)
hey guys. i was wondering if i can take signal from my radio send it to a crossover then from the crossover to a eq then to an amp
Kenwood's excelon amp series never disappoints. You gotta upgrade your system James.
Still waiting on your mom's last payment
@@Qualitymobilevideo Still? I have even greater love for your Mutha after buying me this amp.
Im gna need a new deck soon single din.. I have a 8 channel dsp.. 3k true mono amp pushing 2 15's.. 4 titanium domes on a true 60x4... 4. 6.5 mids on a true 125x4
I only need one set rca out dsp takes care of rest.. What would you suggest..
I would buy it through your store...
What 4 channel amp do you recommend for SQ?
Muito bonito.
can you run this with two channels bridged and then channel 5 at 2 ohm?
Just ordered this amp for two 6.5 kenwood concert series two 6x9 concert series & a preloaded 12in kenwood nextcweek I'll be looking at hearing aids 🤷♂️
You will love it! 👌
Watching this video made me want to do my own car system I got me the kenwood X801-5. With this amp you can do 4 ohm or
2 ohm output. My question is do you have to physically tell the amp to put out 2 or 4 ohms or is it the ohm on the subwoofer that determine the output from the amp.
Sorry if this is a stupid question Thank you
Ohms are resistance from the system, in this case your sub. Hook up one 4 ohm sub and it will be 4 ohm. Add another in and it will go to 8 or 2 depending on wiring. Parallel widens the system so it drops to 2 ohms, series stacks both on top of each other so it doubles to 8. It happens automatically so you need to make sure you don't go above or below what the amp is rated at.
I would love to see the XR version 401-4 XR or 901-5 XR
What about the kenwood xr901-5?
I’m torn between the Soundstream PN5.640D Picasso Nano 640 W or this Kenwood Excelon X802-5 Class D.
Is the Kenwood really worth double the price tag? This is my first 5 channel amp. I don’t mind paying more for quality but only if it’s worth it.
Kenwood will last much longer!!!
So if I have 4 mid-range speakers running @ 4ohm, and I hook 2 4ohm 10" subs in parallel to the sub line effectively bringing it down to 2ohm, will the mid-range still only get 4ohm power while the sub gets 2ohm power split between the 2 10's? Subs are Rockford Fosgate prime R1's rated at 200w RMS. Can always turn down the gain to match wattage if more than enough watts.
I believe the 5 channel/ technically 3 amps in 1, work independent on the ohm loads
Quick question: When it says 300w @4ohms x 1 sub, what would it be if I hooked 2 subs up that were 4 ohms each? Would it split that 300w between the two subs? Might be a dumb question but this is something I've been wondering for some time. Haha thanks in advance!
Good questions! I've seen guys connecting 2 subs to the sub channel in a 5 channel amplifier
@@jorgeplaza3406 Yeah, also my mono block amp has two sets of outputs so I've always wondered how the power is distributed between my two subs.
Yes power will be split
2 sub of 4ohm in parallel means amp will see the load of 2ohms and will deliver power accordingly to both.
@@coolfern37520 many brazilians amps work that way connecting 2 speakers to one line out
CPlay2Air does with work well or is it a scam? Please review it if you can.
No idea bud haven't used it
Am I correct in thinking I can run a 4ohm speaker for each channel x4 then have two 2ohm subs wired in series to the sub channel? Also wondering what happens if I add a tweeter to each channel. Very new to the audio scene. Please if anyone can help
I have the amp that this one replaced. X700-5. It had plastic mounting holes and they break to easy. So they made the mount holes in the metal housing. Why would you want to bridge the 4 ch down to 2?
Double the power on a single set of speakers. Usually done in 2 seater cars that don't have rear speakers.
@@shadow105720 I just meant on this Amp. It already has a sub channel output
Dumb question here! 😂 would the sub output would be sufficient for a DVC 4 ohm kicker comp VR ? Would i wire it 2 or 8 ohm? Max RMS is 350 (175 each coil) thx for any input
Wire it in parallel for 2 ohms and dial back the gain knob.
So the little triangle on top of the Kenwood name lights up red when it’s on?
Yes it does!
@@Qualitymobilevideo okay🤣went to look at mine and thought what the heck is it in protection mode or something
Kenwood DMX4707S review this please 🙏
could yall please do a video explaining how yall measure the rms wattage of speakers/ amplifiers. thanks
You mean go over all our equipment?
@@Qualitymobilevideo yeah
I like your dyno setup seems a lil more accurate then the smd setup?
We're starting to come to the same conclusion. The HP8903B is 100% correct because the voltage on it always matches the voltage on the Liumy. The SMD is always off a bit
@@Qualitymobilevideo interesting would u say this is as accurate or more accurate as there dyno?
Could anyone tell me if this all can handle the 4x channels to be at 4ohms and the subwoofer be at 2ohm
These are the possible configurations/specs:
50 watts RMS x 4 + 300 watts x 1 at 4 ohms
75 watts RMS x 4 + 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
150 watts RMS x 2 bridged at 4 ohms + 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
@@Qualitymobilevideo ok so you would have to bridge and make the four channels two @4ohm and the 1 channel can stabilise at 2ohm. With that being said is it safe and efficient to run the whole amp speakers and sub at 2ohms?
Does this Kenwood accept differential balanced input?
I have this amp and I could not find that spec listed anywhere - but, I do have a '16 Accord with the premium system and read that you needed a differential balanced input to run RCA's from the deck output. i tried it when I installed my amp and it works just fine so I'm assuming it does despite it not being listed. I would assume this is a major YMMV depending on your car and factory system set up though.
I want one to power 4 door speakers and 2 underneath shallow subs!
This amp is more than capable!
does the amplifier gets really hot?
Not really
@qualitymobilevideo im guessing it's not a good idea to have the sub channel down to 2 ohms?
Yo man you gotta do a blooper reel
LOL maybe
Please test Sony XM-GS4 amplifier too,,, that is also HI-RES certificated.
Lets see how u certifies that... 😜
U always makes qulaity videos. 😀
Will try to do soon!
@@Qualitymobilevideo Thanks... Will be waiting
Why do they put out more power than rated for? Couldn’t that ruin your speakers if you weren’t aware that they make more than they are advertised as?
Nice, except for lack of subsonic filter on sub channel.
That's why you have one in your head unit. 😂
Is this guy a robot?
Robot
2 year warranty is good, today anyway. But realistically, if I'm going to spend money on an amp, I expect it to last longer than 2 years. So, to me, there obviously is something wrong with it; otherwise, Kenwood would have made the warranty longer. But it is in line with the general consensus today. Evidently, something happened since the mid 90s during the car boom that resulted in most car audio being Chinese.
--Sometimes I feel like I live in China.

Omfg Kenwood stop with the flea market amp Spade connectors, it's not a good look. Spade connectors don't say Kenwood it's says Boss. And wait did you say they rate the sub channel at 20hz to 200hz what? Come on Kenwood $350 for Spade terminals and dirty power smfh.
lolol
You sound like you are reading.
I have this amp, it’s really not impressive. Save your money and get something better
It’s pretty expensive as it is
This amp rips idk what your used to
This amp cranks it hard. Dude don't know what it is.
