- Originally this was supposed to be a 2 night 3 day trip. Although Mother Nature on night 2 had us bail. Last minute I invited my friend Eric, which made for a fun experience. We did not anticipate the cold temps (20 degrees) + wind (50 mph gusts). I had a 30 degree bag, Eric had a quilt with a summer sleeping pad plus we both had a bivy with tarp. Regardless we made the right decision. On the bright side we slept at the boulder field on night 1 with great weather and got to summit Longs Peak with little to no people.
Cheers
That's some crazy amazing views there! Top of the world indeed. That's for sharing!
Thanks for watching! Longs Peak is definitely recommended 🙌🏽
So proud of you guys for bailing! Yay for making good decisions!
That’s what happens after you summit your objective haha.
My brother tricked me and never told me about the key hole, I got to that look out spot thinking that was basically it😅
haha that's hilarious! Did you get to summit Longs? What did you think?
@AndyOnTheMountain yeah we did! It was pretty cool my favorite backpacking trip though still has to be Maroon bells. Have you had a chance to do that one
Awesome trip ! Do you get condensation inside your bivy ? I seem to get a lot, enough to dampen my sleeping bag. Stay safe out there 👍
Hey Andy, during this trip I didn't have any condensation. Although a previous trip last winter when I used this bivy I did have condensation. It's hit or miss. Wind and low humidity I think it the best chance to not have any of the condensation.
What bivy do you have?
