- This isn't your typical rock groove on the toms. This one is way more chaotic and a lot more fun. Linear drumming is your friend.

The overtones on his snare are very fun to listen to as he gets the different harmonics with each hit, it's like a melody
you are just on fire every time
Wow. Best explanation. Thank you.
Great for coordination as well, I will try it
Thank you
Great lesson loved it . This is good for the mind and body . I think I can get really interesting with different accent in diffrent odd time grouping with a touch of polymeric would make it really challenging. Always another great lesson. Ty you josh
I LOVED how you demonstrated building it. Time to practice....thank you Josh!

pretty sure Dave Grohl plays this on the chorus of “First It Giveth” by Queens of the Stone Age. the only difference being he also plays a crash on the first note of this pattern as well as the snare hit.
that being said, i find your variation a little more challenging seeing as Dave’s version sort of grounds you a bit more with having the right hand playing 8ths between the floor and crash.
I had to check to make sure I wasn't accidentally playing this video at 1.5x speed...
My dream is to play with u bro
