I didnt know about this while making the video but I mentioned that modding Celeste is possible for every PC release of the game, but apparently this is false as its not possible with the windows store version of the game, outside that and consoles everything works though. ALSO this is slightly outdated now since Strawberry Jam released which is just a better spring collab in every possible way with much better gyms and tech guides/explanations aswell, so basically replace every mention of spring collab with Strawberry Jam (sc is still good but sj is much more reccomended)
For clarification, the Windows Store version's data is encrypted in a way that makes Everest not compatible with it, I believe it's pretty similar to how consoles work. and that would require coding an entirely new mod loader for it to work, and even if it was created, there's a low chance that mods would even run anyway. It's generally a really tough situation that's out of the devs' power, because it's all Windows' end with the encryptions
Despite not being new to mods, after doing expert lobby in spring collab and Cryoshock D-side recently, this video has become a goldmine for fun mods :D. I already have played a few mentioned here and they are great. I now have a list of 25+ mods to play, thanks parrot
The fact that farewell is lumped in with the beginner's category is scary. It took me about 25 hours to get to and beat farewell after starting the game last Saturday and I'm worried about harder maps 😭
fw is designed to be rlly hard for casual players, but ofc high level players will want more challenging stuff to do, that's why there's much harder maps congrats on beating fw btw!!
Aaaa yes Parrot!!!! this is a really good video, its super nice to see something like this finally be made!!! btw for anyone who wants to *make* maps: iamdadbod has a few videos on that topic on his channel (they might be slightly dated afaik but they still have useful info) and the Everest modding wiki is a decent resource in regards to more specific needs from handling custom dialog and sprites to correctly packaging mod folders. Anyways happy modding everyone!!!! heck yeagh
Wow, I'm definitely keeping this video somewhere I always have trouble finding mods with the right difficulty in games (not just Celeste), so since I have barely played any Celeste mods so far, that will help A LOT! Thanks!
very helpful, im glad you're making more tutorial/guide based videos so more people can understand your videos, and the community in general. i will make sure to send this to people that just finished celeste lol
I tried Celeste once when I had Xbox game pass and enjoyed it a lot, but never got around to buying and finishing it. Finding your videos in my recommended has definitely sparked my interest for the game again
Great video and really helped me, ive just finished 8b and couldnt find mods of the right difficulty either they would be too easy or waaay to hard. Keep it up, love to watch these sorts of videos
Love the video! All these tutorials have been amazingly helpful, can't wait to see more (also while I'm at it, I would love to see more videos on your teirlists (the tech tierlist was super interesting))
I feel like, this is gonna be a really important video for celeste players, who want more. When I started playing mods, i couldn’t have even found it through a friend. Really nice video❤
This is exactly what i was looking for! I saw a bunch of videos of people playing mods so i knew they were out there, but had no idea what to look for.
Very cool video! I started playing spring collab around february and march and it has been a blast. I was actually about to give up on the GM difficulty since it's too hard but I gain a lot of confidence when I saw your 2k3 video and also to finish the heartside since you were doing the golden attempts of it at the time. Since then I played few maps (glyph, d-sides (not 9d yet), zucchini's various maps, another farewell map, jelly metropolis, and other maps i forgot) and now I'm currently on flag 4 of boss side. Maybe after that I'll do a leap of fate by attempting fennec forest. Thanks for the inspiration and I hope your channel and this community continue to grow!
Thanks for making this video! I just finished farewell and I’m trying to get into modded celeste now but there’s just so many videos about it I didn’t know what to do lol. Very well explained and to the point video.
Heya! I didn’t know you were Dutch! Fijne video, dankjewel! I felt really overwhelmed by all the mods available after finishing the main game, so this helps a ton!
this video was the reason i got into celeste modding randomly found it love your content parrot now with around 500 hours on celeste (still cant do expert maps tho lol)
I just today started thinking if there is mods for celeste (ofcourse there is) celeste is definetly in my top 10 favorite games Im really looking forward to see how different of an experience mods will be
Happy to see that Farewell B is actually very hard for the amount of experience I have! Aside from Moni 1D and 2D it's my first modded map. I'm 35 hours in and currently on the Farewell screen, going for moon berry.
after i finished the main game and got all the goldens from the A and C sides except chapter 3, i felt like i needed something challenging to play with so i installed monikas d sides as my first mod. i am curently at reflection, and so far, even tough its been pretty hard,i m having a lot of fun.

hey ! for begginers there's a map absolutly awesome with 3 chapters, 30 berrys (10 per chap') + golden berry (deathless), it names "Banana Mountain", some very cool design, realy not hard and nice music ^^
Awesome video, I've got to admit. I have question about a mod Parrot uses: I've seen him use a mod where he can teleport to wherever he wants w/ a cursor. I was wondering what that mod was, so yeah.
That's debug mode! It's a setting you can add as long as you have modded celeste downloaded, it's even technically avaliable in vanilla but it's tough to enable lol
@@voidheartt hmm it's been a while since I've had to do it, but I think it's just a feature you can toggle in "mod settings" called Debug Something or other

If I might suggest one slight improvement though - it would be great if you could try to speak a bit slower in these scripted videos (it doesn't seem to affect your live streams and such). You speak really fast and even though most of what you say is completely understandable, the speed of it makes it difficult to focus on what you're saying and there is no time to "digest it" properly. I guess it would also be good for people who don't have amazing English skills. Just a thought :) Anyways - thanks for all the content you create!
