Much of the in game universe is expanding in the books and novels
The human covenant war lasted for nearly 30 years and the covenant destroyed hundreds of human colony worlds the first human colony to be destroyed was Harvest, also Reach was one of the most important and heavily defended world second only to Earth
Plus many of the outer colonies wanted to break away from the UNSC to become independent and become Rebels/Insurrectionists some were not that bad but most were full on terrorists.
Also the UNSC and ONI the OfficeofNavalIntelligence (The CIA of the UNSC) did quite a lot of shady controversial things one of them was the creation of the Spartan IIs basically kidnapping 75 six year old children to become super soldiers Master Chief was one of these children and the parents didn't know their kids were kidnapped because their children were swapped with clones that would die a week later so they had no idea that their real children were alive and been made into soldiers
The covenant worship this long dead powerful alien race known as the forerunners as gods and their technology but only humans can activate forerunner technology that's why that elite who saw Chief activate that forerunner artifact looks so shock and the human they have in the covenant who they call the blessed one thinks she must be blessed by their Gods and is the only one capable of activating forerunner technology not realising that all humans can activate forerunner technology plus the forerunners chose humanity to be their inheritors.
That is a ton of super cool information! Thanks for sharing! I definitely would like to dive further into Halo lore as we progress through anything Halo related on the channel!

@@samuel-nh6qj yeah in the TV series/Silver Timeline but in the actual game canon it was all humans were reclaimers/chosen of the forerunners.
That episode was WAY more intense than I expected it to be 😂😂😂
Dr Halsey in the games as in this series is not Master Chief's mother, it feels like that because she created the spartan program and she created Cortana (based on a cloned brain of her). Also yes, Reach in the games is a planet just like here and High Charity looks exactly the same as in the games, you can see it in Halo 2 and 3, specially in Halo 2 so it is not something new. I loved this episode and can't wait for the next episode tomorrow:)
Wait... which mission is High Charity in, in Halo 3?? I basically used to have every one of those missions memorized but can't remember.... lmao
@@RoommateReactions In halo 3 the mission called "Cortana" and you can see High Charity before in the mission "Covenant", after you disable the shield, High Charity arrives infected by the flood through a slip space rupture (or a slip space portal)
@@alexestrada767 I vaguely remember this now.. I guess i'm just gonna have to go back and playthrough Halo 3 again now that Halo has been brought back up in my life! hahaha

I always find it amazing that the soldiers that anyone creates will be their greatest enemy if they ever disobey an order. But in this case, Dr Halsey is not afraid because she knows he would never do anything to hurt/kill her but doesn't mean he won't kill the officers around her and thats whys the Marshal was afraid.
Maybe Halsey understands he is making more human based decisions now, but Marshal is under the impression he's only capable of making machine based decisions?
@@RoommateReactions Well remember to the Marshal, Keyes and everyone else The Spartans are killing machines that obey orders and nothing more, but they keep forgetting that they are also human

Its between Halo Reach and Halo 4 for me, Spartan Ops was my jam. Wish they had kept it going even as a DLC or something

Quick Question from someone who just recorded his first reaction- How the hell do you get past Paramount just straight up restricting the video from being public, I made the Picture small, spoke over the clips I used, and many of them are the same as other channels (yours included) I don't get it!

The Original voice that was coming back was Cortana actually.
When 343 took the reigns, the games became more story focused. When Bungie was in charge, the games had much more focus on combat and relied on the books to fill in the actual story.
That's interesting.. I would definitely like to check out the books! I'm not much of a reader, but I would probably read those!
Dr Halsey isn't Johns mother, she is however Mirandas mother. Dr Halsey pioneered the Spartan program.. they stole kids and turned them into Spartans and wiped their memory, so John and all the other Spartans see her as mother figure. She is also the person who creates Cortana as a "somewhat" clone of herself.
That makes a lot of sense! I also definitely feel like she will have a direct connection to Cortona in this series!
@@RoommateReactions of course she does, she's creating Cortana from a cloned version of her, and this show is a completely separate timeliness from the games and books
@@tattoos9246 If you watch the intro you'll notice we discuss that this isn't canon so we do a lot of speculation throughout the video on the direction they may go with this alternate timeline

Episode 2 is coo two this one is better tho but yea . Waiting for ep 3 over here and waitin for ur ep 2 reaction. Glad u enjoy it guys . So far all it got is pure hate so to see somone enjoy it is very refreshing . Being a day one halo fan myself . I really dig this show and how its doing its own story
I notice it's not getting the best reviews, but personally I don't understand why! Maybe if it was canon and had terrible execution I could see it, but it's a separate timeline and honestly, very well done in my opinion!

Hey guys just got finished watching your reaction and while I enjoyed most of it I do have one minor critique you guys have a habit of talking over the actors when they're speaking and they're actually answering the questions you're asking at the time you're talking. you might want to consider talking when the actors aren't talking, just a thought

My story is ALMOST the same as the guy in the white tee. My little brother & his friends would have LAN parties & I watched em’ talk shit & play MP. Every now & again if someone dropped out for whatever reason I would take their place for awhile. But, I was food for them. Then, one day, my lil’ bro had me play CE’s campaign with him & I WAS HOOKED!! Been interested & playing & consuming HALO stuff ever since!! I still have yet to play INFINITE’s campaign, though_ But that’s coming!
We are just waiting for the coop campaign to drop then we will definitely be doing a playthrough on my gaming channel!! I can't wait!!

Great Reaction😊❤Not being a gamer, but a sci-fi fan I am happy that you guys liked the first episode. I can understand why you guys were disappointed about the helmet. However I think that in removing his helmet and revealing his face is to show his humanity before his Cortana implant. I think it’s all backstory to get to the Master Chief of the games.
Thank you! 😊 I think you make a great point. It’s a delicate balance trying to stay true to the video game while also being different enough that it’ll attract an audience of people that aren’t familiar with the game. They can’t please everyone and overall, I enjoyed the episode! 🙂
