Yea but if you've played the games you know they've always intentionally kept it shrouded in mystery which makes his character more intriguing to people. This could've been meant to give more immersion to the player as well Edit: Plus there isn't a man on this Earth that is enough of a Chad to properly represent the version of Master Chief in my mind from the games so this kind of ruined it for me
@@StayCalmPlease, It probably would have been smarter to give it a few episodes before the reveal but the writers of the TV show have already stated they're making the show from the books and that they haven't played the games.
What I notice with this show is the people who enjoyed it are the ones who don’t know anything about halo and all the upset people are the people who do know halo lore
@@Samuel2oh9 umm i been apart of this franchise since 2001 HALO CE and up to now and seen how this franchise has evolve...i may have not read the books but ik HALO and i love good entertainment and don't complain bout anything i apricate what's being given to me because we are living in golden times for entertainment so thanks for the comment but I'm enjoying what the first episode last comment you will see from me thank you and have a nice day
@@Samuel2oh9 I say it's actually people who played a lot of the games but never bothered reading the wiki. as someone who knows nothing about the Halo universe... I have to say that it was one of the best pilots that I have seen from this year, it kept me excited during the whole episode so that is definitely something. I recognised the actor who plays Master Chief so I actually liked to see his face right early in the show cause tbh it would feel like The Mandalorian if they just dragged that reveal for later... action and CGI were dope, direction was great.
@@Samuel2oh9 yeah, like they don't even realise that people like me are gonna be interested in playing the games thanks to the show which is good cause the franchise in general is going to gain even more attention
I'm not sure if you read the books basically Spartans are super soldiers genetically enhanced from a young age they have increased muscle strength and density, nearly unbreakable bones, enhanceed reflexes and able to run up to 30 an hour (the fastest Spartan was Kelly-057 who could run twice as fast than that) and they can see in the dark. The armor they wear is called named after thor's hammer Mijolnir, their armor is powered armor it's not only has energy shields it also enhances their already enhanced strength and speed. Plus in the books their are moments they where go through this thing called "Spartan time" when in dangerous situations, basically their reaction speed makes everything from their prospective is moving in slow motion but their actually moving so fast to everything else. The games don't really show how crazy Spartans are.
I don't understand the logic behind the face reveal/voice criticism. The reason Bungie and by extension 343 never showed his face was so the player could imagine themselves as him (as they stated in developer diaries) This isn't the Mandalorian and there is no plot line to stop him from taking the helmet off, he did it constantly in the books when out of combat. As for the voice, well you can't have your cake and eat it too, if he had the voice then they couldn't show his face unless they dub over the actor, and the voice actor for him is an older gentleman. Not to mention chief is pushing 50 in the games, he's probably only in his 20's in this timeline (pure guess but I assume)
Long story short: Spartans are enhanced super soldiers. They basically are Captain American even without Mjolnir Armor. With Mjolnir armor they are almost the combine of Captain American and Ironman suit Mark 1.5. Just Mjolnir armor not only an armor but a very “smart” interface between Spartans and the world environments. It’s like wear a spaceship(and yes, Mjolnir Armor cost as much as an UNSC small battle cruiser), so wearer can interact with any tech knowledge just with thoughts. That’s why Mjolnir Armors can also harbor super AI like Cortana without slowing down the full potential of the armor.
23:17 CBS plus is banking on this show to be their “stranger things” and “Ted Lasso”…mass market appeal u NEED to show actors face…as someone whose didnt play halo thats watching this show, i love they showed the actor’s (Schreiber) face. I aint finna watch a show with the lead wearing a robot mask all the time tf 🤷♂️😅
I know next to nothing about halo so sure I'll watch this Also, this is off topic but have you bros seen the Mandalorian? I'd love that series on here! Little to no star wars knowledge needed too. Maybe next vote poll you can consider it 🙏
I Like this series very much the face reveal is to be expected since you are not playing a game in which anyone can be behind the helmet but in the books also there are many times his face is revealed. Also the Series is in the Halo universe but not following the Games in not being cannon but in a different timeline. The Characters are really well done and the production values are nice and also i like the political games and that the UNSC is not all good as shown in the games. Also i like its not Disneyfied and is pretty graphic and violent when need be.
@@Phantoma3 im not a big halo fan and even I knew that his face being a mystery was a part of his character. Idc as much but yeah I can see why fans are put off by that
I gave it a 3 out of 5. I’ve played the games many times and it’s definitely different. Kind of confused as to when this takes place. I personally like the humanizing of Master Chief, just hope they slow it down. They went too fast with his humanizing and face reveal. Would of been better to wait until like episode 3. Just going by this episode, I’m slightly concerned this will be rushed.
The thing is that a lot of people have been waiting for them to humanize chief like this for awhile now. He's always been seen as this hero who always does the right thing at the right time instead of this kidnapped, weaponized, puppet that has been brainwashed into doing the government's bidding. In Halo 4 right off the bat they talked about how good would the chief really be if he wasn't broken (as a human) at his core.
@@NickTemperistic that’s what I loved about Halo 4 though. Even though he was broken, he still had a soft spot for Cortana. He showed that he still had a human side. Even prioritized her above everything else. I straight up cried at the end when he was begging Cortana.

A lot of people are complaining about him taking his helmet off so early on but in the Halo books Master Chief takes his helmet off between battles.

Same. I thought it was great. It’s a shame halo fanboys are going to burn this show to the ground cause it’s diverged from the game story/lore

This is early in the spartan program later it gets easier to make a spartan bucky became a spartan from odst
The only problem is that they took off his helmet. Despite being completely different from the game this still felt like HALO
