This guy was my biggest inspiration when I was 10 years old. It was that inspiring feeling that made me never leave this game even after a decade. Because of that inspiration, I now have the best job ever, and it changed my life. I hope I'm not the only one that remembers him.

The thing I love and hate about online games. Friendships. Back when I started in 2005, I was only 8. I shouldn't even have played games. Hell I didn't even speak English, learned most of it from RS and other sites I visited. I made so many friends. Played for years. Then I was one of those who quit with EoC. I came back when oldschool started, and my first pain was seeing my once busily online friends list completery dead. Months passed, and no-one came up. I decided to put it behind me, but as I deleted the names I also decided to write them in my notes, with a short line of thought about our little adventure. I miss those days. Runescape isn't as good as it used to be. Is it because of updates? No. It's the friends we lose on the way. Runescape isn't the most enjoyable and well-made game I played, but definitely the one I had my happiest moments with, and that all is because of the friends I never tury knew. Thank you, for making my childhood gaming memorable.

Yeah I back trailed at eoc too. But honestly, at this point, I got back on and definitly enjoy the little additions. To a system that seemed to get a little stale after 9 years. I Also heavily needed newer grahics that osrs couldn't do. That said, there is a legacy mode now a days. Rolls eoc to osrs combat without the loss of graphics or progress from the main game.

I always tell people about n0valyfe. He was awesome to follow on the high scores. I started my rs journey in Feb of 2001 and finally finished off my max cape earlier this year and got the only master cape I cared about last night in the atk skill. I'll always remember n0valyfe for what he did and how quickly he did it. I'm just glad someone else does too

Man this video was beautiful, made me really nostalgic.. I've played since maybe 2005-2006 but never got a 99, always played for fun only.. Quit years ago but still watch Rs videos. Man this made me feel so sad, I miss the magic runescape used to make me feel when I was a kid..

I remember those days. I was in awe of the world around me during elementary school. Runescape to me was something to behold and allowed me to immerse myself in another world when the time in the real one only hurt. I did not know who you were or when you were, but you words echo into my memories. Visions from times past well up from the depths of my mind and bring tears to my eyes. Words left behind for us, so beautiful the sound. Being left in a space for all to see almost does not do it justice, but rather should be etched into our hearts. For the message is to inspire and to leave its mark on us and not the Internet. You, whose name I do not know, have left your inspiration onto me and those around. You have nothing less but my utmost respect and gratitude. We may not remember you or your name, but the feeling you gave shall always resonate in all of us. Farewell and safe travels, N0valyfe. May your adventures be as vast as the sky and as deep as the ocean.

I kept reading it as "no valley fee" (no valy fe) and couldn't understand wtf that would mean. It wasn't until a few years after he had quit that I realized it was just two words - nova life.

When these videos were originally released, I watched all of them, I loved them and I'm forever thankful because I keep coming back to them so many years later for inspiration. You make me realize that runescape is so much more than just a game.

I'm glad this was made, not only is he my favorite player but I still think about him and even look at his old blog website from time to time, which you still can because it was archived. It's a shame I started playing RS around the same month he quit and missed out on a lot of things going on in the community back then. As much as I still love the actual game, it will never be like it once was. By that I don't mean updates changing it, but it will never have the magic again of when the game was fairly new, and the community was smaller but more close knit.

This was a great vid, Mote. As I have continued to play RS since 2007/2008, the game has become more about stats and grinding more than what it was originally:
an adventure. This upload has definitely inspired me to play the game as a true RPG once again.
I've been playing runescape since early 2006, and I couldn't agree more with this video about N0va, one of the greatest.
He had a short run in this game but he still keeps the title of legend in my heart, I never knew him in-game but had seen him a few times. He was even respected by Zezima. I never had patience to get 99's at all but I still enjoyed the times when runescape was a lot simpler than it is now.
Damn, being a later RS player I had never heard of n0va, and didn't expect to be so emotional at the end of the video. Watching this brought back so many memories and so much nostalgia from when I used to play RS every single day as a kid. Runescape will always be on my top list of games, one I will never forget, and one I will always have to most memories from. Thanks Mote for uploading such a touching video, which also helped brighten my mood after a hard few days. You will always be one of my favorite youtubers, and thanks again! :)

even though i started playing rs back in 06 i never heard of n0va so it was a nice video for even a vet like me to watch and hear of the story of a forgotten legend.
This just touched every bit of nostalgia in my body. This game was great. It was also a bad time though. As my friends and family around me went out and played. I missed out a lot on life in the real world. But I did gain a lot of great life experiences in the process with meeting good people and having a good time.
Remember meeting Yogosun while woodcutting willows in seer's village back in the days and was so hyped xD
I almost cried listening to this.. I will never forget this one guy that helped me out with completing Dragon Slayer for the very first time :) He was the nicest guy I've ever met in around 10years of playing. I wish I would've had a chance to talk to him one last time...
Honestly, Mote Plox, as mild as it may sound I consider this to be your best video. That is because it's more of a tribute than your usual countdowns and a great one at that. Thank you for making this :)

N0va was so mysterious to me as a kid. I watched him come out of nowhere to be rank 1/2 on the hiscores at a time when everyone else on the front page was a well-known old name, e.g. zezima, the old nite, the hate, lilyuffie88 etc
His old website and blog are an absolute treasure and should be preserved as an exhibit in a museum of videogames
I saw this video on my recommendations and clicked it out of curiosity. Back when I was a noob, I saw him at the rfd chest and I forgot what I did but I think I acknowledged N0valyfe being there and he gave me 100k or something. Around there. Ever since, I've had a rsps username dedicated to him when I play those.
Really brings up a flood of memories from back in the day :'( I have been playing for 10 1/2 years. I remember tutorial islands, cows, dark wizards by varrock. All of it as a flood of memories that just pulled on my heart since I was a child
This is such a beautiful video, Mote!! It's crazy how an online game has affected so many of us emotionally through the years. How the memories made in RuneScape are of such genuine happiness, wonder and adventure. RuneScape is such a magical game, I feel lucky to have been a part of the glory days!!
I've played since 2001, this game is my life. I am always trying to get my friends on board... Love RuneScape, I'll love it forever! Also, excellent video, Mote Plox! ... I kinda wanna get back to making OSRS videos on The Scared Peasant now... I stopped making videos because like you've said.. "I spent more time making videos than playing for pure enjoyment.", same here.. But, making OSRS videos gets more people on the game.. I think I will resume.

Wow man... This made me so sad Icant even describe it... It gave me the most valuable memories from my young Runescape times... Guiden8 was my name I started way back in 03 - 04, I was a noob sucked at doing levels, I heard about guys like Zezima and N0va actually met N0va in the game he was pretty famous back then like Zezima, I tried asking for some tips and actually because of him I made my first level 40 in combat, lmao even managed to get myself a set of rune the tips he gave me helped and when I see his site now wow man... I could cry I am shedding tears tbh.. Shit Mote you got me again the feels really hit me on this one, especially when I get a throwback to the times back then the looks just everything, I have no words to describe this but it really got me both sad and happy... I can never relive the days I did when I was only 9 - 10 years old, everything was so different back then.. PK wasn't as hyped as today ppl was actually afraid of wildy, I remember you could go to any world and wilderness would have so many players around the worlds was so big back then, and ppl did not pk for dharoks and shit they actually did it to get whatever, all I see today is staking, dh pking and blah blah.. Not something that got my eye no.. I really love how Runescape brought back the 2007 version but at the same time tbh, It doesn't feel like the same, I love this game always loved it, when I wanted to get away from the harsh days I could sit for hours on this game and skill, shit Mote I cant believe the years that passed man.. Honestly when I watch N0vas pics I felt like it was only yesterday I was in the game trying to find ways to level and get money, 100k was alot to me back then today its easy to get.. If I had a 100k back then it would feel like I won the lottery hahah... So much has changed and it really saddens me, but I am indeed glad that N0vas page still is up to share his life, he was really one of the best guys, like Zezima himself... And if I could go back I would definitely go back to those times, everything has changed now. Hope you have a good weekend Mote..

I started RS in 06. So many awesome memories. I quit RS to join the military but returned once I got out. I still play every once in a while but I couldn't keep up with the updates. I'm now the biggest 06 noob lol. But great video. I'd like to see more of the older top players.

ive been playing runescape since the days of true runescape classic where all skills were done with a bubble above you rsther than mining. products were traded as certs and werent just easily withdrawn as a note.
i took a 4 year break until recently but im back ful swing and still love this game.

The Old Nite was my inspiriation. He was dying when i started playing and i named all my accounts after him.
I saw N0va in game in 06' when he get 99 construction. Didn't know who he was but looked him up after that and was amazed. I immediately made a new account called Alm3ga or Alpha & Omega in honor of him.

I remember N0valyfe, he came out of nowhere. I use to be one of those kids who looked at the highscores and eventually memorized most of the high rank players lol. From zonghuide, gearshifter, the old nite, ladykilljoy etc zezima, N0valyfe, xxx neo xxx7 (first person to a 200m stat, another forgotten legend, I think) enrix e b to the newgen high ranking players like Alkan, Drumgun, s u o m i etc. Although, the high ranking players are mocked more now than they were in the past. In the past people would be in awe of players for their accomplishment, now its just mockery and insults, which is mostly jagex's doing.

I wanna go back to this era of video games! I'm in high school now but I grew up on Toon Town, Roblox, Wizard101 and WoW. I'm really sad that I never tried Runescape, but I wanted to so badly! Still do today.
Anyone remember how goofy things were back then? Before all these microtransactions and other bullshit? Every time I see a video of an old game like this, I get nostalgic, even if I never played it.

im not, osrs is better then rs in 2007. ge helps alot, i like ge much better then standing at varrock west bank for hours and the more bosses are pretty cool too
I'm not saying there aren't cool new features, but I would rather go back and play the game then.
