+Mote Plox PLEASE Mote, I knew TheOldNite in game, for a short time, he was one of the kindest, friendliest players i ever met, it would mean the world to me and would honor him so much if you made a video for him. :'(
The thing I love and hate about online games. Friendships. Back when I started in 2005, I was only 8. I shouldn't even have played games. Hell I didn't even speak English, learned most of it from RS and other sites I visited. I made so many friends. Played for years. Then I was one of those who quit with EoC. I came back when oldschool started, and my first pain was seeing my once busily online friends list completery dead. Months passed, and no-one came up. I decided to put it behind me, but as I deleted the names I also decided to write them in my notes, with a short line of thought about our little adventure. I miss those days. Runescape isn't as good as it used to be. Is it because of updates? No. It's the friends we lose on the way. Runescape isn't the most enjoyable and well-made game I played, but definitely the one I had my happiest moments with, and that all is because of the friends I never tury knew. Thank you, for making my childhood gaming memorable.
+Kovács Zsolt damn nice to know i wasnt the only one who wrote down all my friends which just ended up being strangers back when i started the game lol
Yeah I back trailed at eoc too. But honestly, at this point, I got back on and definitly enjoy the little additions. To a system that seemed to get a little stale after 9 years. I Also heavily needed newer grahics that osrs couldn't do. That said, there is a legacy mode now a days. Rolls eoc to osrs combat without the loss of graphics or progress from the main game.
Hey Mote, I just want to say that your videos have inspired me to come back and play the game that I fell in love with as an 8 year old. I've watched nearly every video of yours now and I'm so happy that there's a UA-camr out there who's making runescape videos, the way you do. The way they capture the pure nostalgia of childhood memories that I thought I'd forgotten is such a great feeling. I can't thank you enough for inspiring me to play the game once again. Please never stop making videos. -A new fan of yours
Mote...i dont really play the game anymore but your channel is one of my favorite in all of youtube. Nova was alive in my prime time! I was in middle school, your keeping the old runescape memories alive man and i appreciate that. Watching this video brought back sooooo many memories. Love your vids mote keep it up!
+christopher pedersen Maybe it is true because if you click about on his channel it says his account was made in January 2007. Just a few short months after he quit.
I remember those days. I was in awe of the world around me during elementary school. Runescape to me was something to behold and allowed me to immerse myself in another world when the time in the real one only hurt. I did not know who you were or when you were, but you words echo into my memories. Visions from times past well up from the depths of my mind and bring tears to my eyes. Words left behind for us, so beautiful the sound. Being left in a space for all to see almost does not do it justice, but rather should be etched into our hearts. For the message is to inspire and to leave its mark on us and not the Internet. You, whose name I do not know, have left your inspiration onto me and those around. You have nothing less but my utmost respect and gratitude. We may not remember you or your name, but the feeling you gave shall always resonate in all of us. Farewell and safe travels, N0valyfe. May your adventures be as vast as the sky and as deep as the ocean.
This video has given me a deep appreciation for the game, this has helped me finally depart from my Runescape journey. Thanks for being a part and parcel Mote Plox, some of n0valyfe's words really struck a cord in me. :')
Man this video was beautiful, made me really nostalgic.. I've played since maybe 2005-2006 but never got a 99, always played for fun only.. Quit years ago but still watch Rs videos. Man this made me feel so sad, I miss the magic runescape used to make me feel when I was a kid..
Another forgotten legend certainly has to be Zarfot. I feel like the majority of the current players dont really know who he was and what he meant to the game. He single handedly elevated the game to a different level for anyone who aspired going for skill records or just overall effeciency. Arno Cornette Many people I have spoken to in old school either don't know who he is at all, or just heard his name before but don't rlly know what he was known for. Some ppl indeed do know but a large group doesn't really, and thats why, in my opinion, he deserves a similar video like this one.
Yes he does, but also does lilyuffie88, thats a person almost no1 knows, she always had more total exp when it was the golden top 3 in my eyes 'her, the old nite and zezima'
This made me cry. The memories of runescape... Such a great memory. If I could ever go back in life i would chose the moment to go back to playin'' runescape. The great journey I had in runescape. It is one of the greatest experience I''ve ever had! Runescape has learned me everything. It teached me proper English. But also the way of how people think and how people are. People really think that games are nonsense. But i think otherwise, especially for this game. It teaches you life in a whole other way. I must admit that Runescape is and will forever be in my hearth. Even tho I wasn''t the best, or i didn''t desire the game as much as other players did. It''s still the greatest memory I have. Thank you Mote Plox, for making me remember a time in life that is so precious!
Talk about pulling at the heart strings. Has me recalling all the runescape greats I've seen come and go, and the few I've had the pleasure of chatting with. This game is part of what made my childhood. Awesome vids btw man!
Mote Plox replied to someone else asking the same thing saying on his website it says that he graduated from college while playing, and now has a Masters degree in electrical engineering.
Mote, you kill me when you uploads videos like this. From a time when I was younger and the game was a true adventure, with true role models like him and Zezima who were legends in our view. I can't help but feel the need to shed a tear to a generation of games who we had encountered and who have since moved on and left us behind. I'd also like to give them a standing ovation and my own word of thanks for helping to contribute not only to this game but also to the person I am today.
I'd like to imagine he's out there still playing on another account. Maybe getting online every couple weeks or so. A great legend who will never fully be forgotten.
This video here.. has made me miss my runescape account. I loved Old school runescape, and Runescape3. Thank you for sharing this video, I don't know when but I will come back to Old school because that is what got me so far in general. this game was my stress reliever and it'll always stay in my mind for years and years to come. for anyone who is embarrassed of playing this game, don't you'll thank it down the road.
I kept reading it as "no valley fee" (no valy fe) and couldn't understand wtf that would mean. It wasn't until a few years after he had quit that I realized it was just two words - nova life.
I remember when we all came over to RS from Age of Empires. Jordan was a relaxed dude and this was the perfect game for him. An absolute grinder. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the upload mote. You're my favorite RS youtuber by far and I've been around on your channel since you had 2000 subs. You always end up bringing back the nostalgia for me, knowing that it will never be the same as it was back in 05 and 06. For that I thank you and I hope you are doing well with everything. Once again, thank you!
Mote Plox. Seeing your videos really makes my heart pound. It makes me want to relive my childhood memories. I know the OSRS is still out there but it just doesn't feel the same it used to back in 05-09 when I was still playing.
the feels... These pictures cannot be re-created again...theres only one, and always will. those years were just the beginning of RS when i was young. Oh how I remember..
Thank you Mote. I had forgotten. This video brought a tear to my eye. A True legend, he definitely understood how to love the game. Thanks for showing the images, and his old site.
+iWork Hard I think it's because I remind people of why they started in the first place. :) Or I try to atleast. RuneScape is competetive now and days, which is fine, but I just want people to remember that at one point in time, it was because the game itself, and not the grinding, was the most fun part.
Thats so true. I think all the true oldschool players really miss the Elvemage, Kids Ranqe, and I Mahtama days.. And your videos are just so damn nostalgic everyone can't help but be a fan. Thanks Mote, keep it up!
+Mote Plox I'd say, that is a very good reason... I only started back in 2008 or something, at the age of nine. Then when I was around eleven I quite because my friends did. Maybe eight months ago I spotted some vids, and then realized that there was an old-school version. I created a new acount, and started playing. It didn't take long for me to once again just fall in love with the game again. I now play several hours every week in my quest for 99 Runecrafting. This, is because I came across some old vids months ago. And some of those are very likely yours. Keep up the good vids, because I know I speak for many when I say they're awesome ^^
+Adam Gomes In RSC you had to use each fish on a stove/fire individually. Also you couldn't buy noted items so the max amount of raw fish to could trade at a time was 28
A true legend right here. Never met the guy, but I remember his hype. No longer play the game, but I watch your videos for the feeling of nostalgia, and this was one of the strongest feelings right here. I miss the good ole days, Mote. I miss walking around Varrock with the feeling of unfamiliarity, I miss the feeling of selling cow hides, and I miss not having to pay for car insurance, a car payment, rent, PG&E and taxes.
Wow this takes me back. I started in 02, many of your videos hit home for me. Thanks for the uploads. I just started back a few days ago on runescape and i see how much easier the game is now.
this is exactly why i love runescape... its not only about grinding, its also about the journey you experience on the way to the top... i probably cannot even imagine all the stress and sleepless days that went into that one account in such a short time... but its awesome to be able and go back to see every step he did to make that account what it is today and i try to follow in his footsteps so i can also see what its like to have so much and i cant wait for the day its all done and i can look back at every second of it :) ... rip n0va
Mote. I'm not sure if you'll ever read this, but in my eyes you are a legend. I love you and thank you for all these great videos you have put out. When these videos were originally released, I watched all of them, I loved them and I'm forever thankful because I keep coming back to them so many years later for inspiration. You make me realize that runescape is so much more than just a game. God bless you xx.
Right in the feels man I was in Gladiators (Gladz)with him before they split and I went to Dark Slayers(DS). In the screenshots you have are a lot of my friends that don't play anymore maybe a couple with me, those where the best times for me, because of all of them and the stuff we used to do together. Old school looks kind of like it was but the people I want to play with are gone. Honor pking in the deep wildy with the greatest clans and players Runescape has ever known gives me pride, it might sound funny but it was a big part of my life it made me feel good to play. Thanks for making this video.
I started around 2007-2008 when I was like 8 or 9 years old. Sad I missed out on one of the greats. Thanks for sharing this! I never would have known about such an amazing player.
The last part you mentioned about kids having role models, and yours being a scaper, i totally resonate with that. I grew up with Runescape and it was a huge part of my life. Loved this story.
that was quite... tear jerking. i'v played this game for over 13 years and never even knew about him. never heard his name or anything. thank you mote for showing me this Legend of a man.
This was a great vid, Mote. As I have continued to play RS since 2007/2008, the game has become more about stats and grinding more than what it was originally: an adventure. This upload has definitely inspired me to play the game as a true RPG once again.
Runescape just isn't the same theese days... back in '05, '06 we used to spend hours, days just to sit there , play with our friends and just explore the lands, that Runescape opened to us.. it seemed so real, it became so serious, that it took over lifes , yes, but it's that part of my childhood, which i'll never forget.. even 50 years ago, I will proudly say " back in mu days, we used to play this one, legendary game - Runescape... " it's just like '90s kids had those gameboys or whatever they're called. Thank you, Jagex, for those colorful, full of pixels memories, hella fun and dangerous adventures, you thaught me a lot of.. even , that sometimes you have to stop...
This is such a beautiful video, Mote!! It's crazy how an online game has affected so many of us emotionally through the years. How the memories made in RuneScape are of such genuine happiness, wonder and adventure. RuneScape is such a magical game, I feel lucky to have been a part of the glory days!!
I'm glad someone remembers him. I followed his Freehostia site back in the day as well. Everyone talks about efficiency these days, but he was really the first to show how it's meant to be done. More importantly though, he loved the game :P I remember a lot of the people from his "travels" page, but I never got to meet n0va himself.
I played this when it first hit back in the day, I remember playing with friends on our elementary school computer lab computers, and cramming in each others houses to trade off playing. Today the game is very different but brings back a lot of those good old memories. I'll miss the good ole days but today's osrs is still amazing. I love your videos, keep up the great work
Hey man, thank you for making this video. It really brought me back to when I started playing in 06 as well. I hadn't thought of runescape legends as my role models but I realize now that they were. Thanks man I appreciate your videos.
You really have to admire his way with words. I will say as a veteran of RS2/3, I have Jagex to thank for so many years of adventure and entertainment. This was a perfect reminder of that.
The emotion in this video is so genuine and one that can only be understood by true RS veterans. To anyone who did not play RS as a kid you will never understand. thank you mote. your the man
respect good sir, respect, yogosun has always been my inspiration as i have seen and talked with him at willows for a brief period of time. im glad you have someone to look to while on the grind.
You know... This is beautifully put together man, I remember being young, playing this game and I remember when he was fighting for rank 1! I hope the man himself actually gets in touch with you. Amazing video
That was a good one, Mote. It has a way of unearthing all the nostalgia in your heart. I love that you choose to keep inspiring! It helps people more than you know.
Sir Viper234 here loyal runscape player since '05, and I wish to say that I was one of the few people that has heard of this Legend when I first started back when I was a kid..now being 21 years old I have gained an even GREATER respect for this man then iv once had and in my eyes I regard as a RuneScape God. Rise to the heavens in glory and honor friend, you've more then earned it.
I remember N0valyfe, he came out of nowhere. I use to be one of those kids who looked at the highscores and eventually memorized most of the high rank players lol. From zonghuide, gearshifter, the old nite, ladykilljoy etc zezima, N0valyfe, xxx neo xxx7 (first person to a 200m stat, another forgotten legend, I think) enrix e b to the newgen high ranking players like Alkan, Drumgun, s u o m i etc. Although, the high ranking players are mocked more now than they were in the past. In the past people would be in awe of players for their accomplishment, now its just mockery and insults, which is mostly jagex's doing.
Damn dude, i started playing in 06. He probably quit before i started playing because i only knew about Zezima. Respect to the man, he will be completely forgotten because a lot of the players now are not old players.
That is heartwarming man i remember him and remember everything i did in this game, i miss the old days..young no responsibilities played this game all day and felt happy for 99 :)
Mote is one of those guys where i go a month without watching his videos, then one peaceful night i'll binge watch all of the ones i haven't seen and really appreciate the comedy in them. Thanks Mote! (:
You know, I wonder if these old legends ever revisit their past. They spent countless hours and sleepless nights in this world. To think they may all still think of the time they invested to me is what makes Runescape so special. There are people all across the globe that are touched and inspired by these legends, these people that no one knows.
Damn, being a later RS player I had never heard of n0va, and didn't expect to be so emotional at the end of the video. Watching this brought back so many memories and so much nostalgia from when I used to play RS every single day as a kid. Runescape will always be on my top list of games, one I will never forget, and one I will always have to most memories from. Thanks Mote for uploading such a touching video, which also helped brighten my mood after a hard few days. You will always be one of my favorite youtubers, and thanks again! :)
This video is very kind of you to make. I agree with his ending words and I believe we should live by that not only in Runescape, but in real life as he stated. Keep doing what you do, Mote, glad we could learn a little more about you - referring to how much you looked up to him and showing us some of the things he said/did that some of us might have never looked up ourselves. :)
I'm glad this was made, not only is he my favorite player but I still think about him and even look at his old blog website from time to time, which you still can because it was archived. It's a shame I started playing RS around the same month he quit and missed out on a lot of things going on in the community back then. As much as I still love the actual game, it will never be like it once was. By that I don't mean updates changing it, but it will never have the magic again of when the game was fairly new, and the community was smaller but more close knit.
This is really sad. Makes me remember the good old days from 2005-2007 when all my friend and everybody at school was playing rs, now none of em do. The feels... And N0valyfe was a legend.
I'm Actually a old veteran myself i was 10 when i start playing runescape back in 2005, i remember i saw this guy walking arround with hordes of people following him. i remember it was rare to see a guy with a 99 and i remember cb 80 was an achievement, almost no one had a green cash stack. those where the days. Runescape have changed a lot, but i still love the game, all the old runescape legends who eventually quit between 2006 and 2009 will always be remembered those were the best i've ever whitnessed on youtube in the community! i miss the community, hours and hours of talking on varrock square. those were the days. Thank you Mote Plox for making this video ''sorry for my bad english it's not my foreign language, Runescape thought me ;)''
What an achievement. Considering how different the game was way back then, how much more challenging it was, you really do begin to appreciate the amount of time, effort and dedication N0valyfe put into this game. What a true Runescape legend.
I remember seeing N0valyfe a few times and watched him climb the ranks during his short journey. I always wondered how Zezima would stay ahead. It was really neat seeing N0va pass him for a few weeks. I started playing in June 2004 and not a week goes by that I don't check the updates for the game. I don't play much anymore but I don't every now and then. I will always have love for this game!
I have been playing this game for 12 years (since I was 9) I still play it to this day on the same account, OSRS now ofc and I remember all of these players. I know it's just a game but I made so many friends and had so much fun playing it. Thanks for the nostalgia :)
I'm happy I wasn't the only fan of him. I remember finding his website around 2006 and that was like a gold mine. I learned to play properly from him. Yeah, these days efficiency is a completely different beast than it once used to be but it's important to take note of those that started it first. And he shared with us all just how he did it all which was unheard of at the time.
I've played since 2001, this game is my life. I am always trying to get my friends on board... Love RuneScape, I'll love it forever! Also, excellent video, Mote Plox! ... I kinda wanna get back to making OSRS videos on The Scared Peasant now... I stopped making videos because like you've said.. "I spent more time making videos than playing for pure enjoyment.", same here.. But, making OSRS videos gets more people on the game.. I think I will resume.
If this gets a lot of support, I might make another one of these about The Old Nite. :)
nice i would like to see that

+Ancient laws Yeah man. Sometimes I wish I had, but I wouldn't be where I'm at today if I didn't. It's bittersweet though.
Mote Plox You sir have made a living out of playing Runescape. That is every gamers dream. Keep up the good work and stay strong

He did come back briefly when Summoning was released to check it out but lost interest quick.
It's amazing how someone who you never met and don't even know the name of can have an impact on your life so greatly.
+EekItsYouRS I completely agree. :) The fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch!
Wow.

I wonder what he's doing now? It would be cool to know.
Probably working Zezima is only still 30 years old
he's got a level 3 account and just sits and watches people struggle and like be nigga I did that in a day before the changes
Mote Plox replied to someone else asking the same thing saying on his website it says that he graduated from college while playing, and now has a Masters degree in electrical engineering.
+Snaparoo hes a homeless person. i know him he lives in arizona
Works in mc donalds and brags to people he has 99 cooking
Mote, you kill me when you uploads videos like this. From a time when I was younger and the game was a true adventure, with true role models like him and Zezima who were legends in our view. I can't help but feel the need to shed a tear to a generation of games who we had encountered and who have since moved on and left us behind. I'd also like to give them a standing ovation and my own word of thanks for helping to contribute not only to this game but also to the person I am today.
Amazing video Mote :) would love to see one on The Old Nite
I do indeed remember him.
I'd like to imagine he's out there still playing on another account. Maybe getting online every couple weeks or so. A great legend who will never fully be forgotten.
uloveme is the forgotten legend everybody remembers n0valyfe and the old nite
+Chris Talley youloveme was definitely one of the main people i remember in those days, nice call
Who
+HeyyDivine Had like rank 3 for a while
This video here.. has made me miss my runescape account.
Plot twist. Suomi is N0va.
Dun dun duuuuuuuun!
Possibly my favorite video you have made so far. Honestly gave me chills the whole time.
top 10 on player suggested updates not implemented
The ending was so sad.
I'm crying in the inside. :'( Long live the great legend, N0valyfe!
Jordan...and lives in us....didnt know Mr Mammal had a differend account, Kappa
Just browsing through rs videos, Never thought i would come across a legend that should never be forgotten in this world we strive in.
I thought his name Novalyfe came of Nolife xD
same
me too
I kept reading it as "no valley fee" (no valy fe) and couldn't understand wtf that would mean. It wasn't until a few years after he had quit that I realized it was just two words - nova life.
+zants within no valley in runescape shall you have to pay a fee. Except for the gates of Al Kharid.
+DailyDraw it means "no vagina life"
I remember when we all came over to RS from Age of Empires. Jordan was a relaxed dude and this was the perfect game for him. An absolute grinder. Thanks for the video
I recognize your name from a lot of his screenshots. :)
Do you still keep in touch with him at all? I always wonder what he's up to these days and if he plays any other games. I hope he's doing well
Thanks for the upload mote. You're my favorite RS youtuber by far and I've been around on your channel since you had 2000 subs. You always end up bringing back the nostalgia for me, knowing that it will never be the same as it was back in 05 and 06. For that I thank you and I hope you are doing well with everything. Once again, thank you!
+Rick Astley No problem Rick Astley. :D
I feel the same way. Take care okay
That ending hit me right in the feels man! I legit teared up.. Great video man!
what a nice video
Lmao muricans be like
lmfao says the guy with the name Ali Faiq
1 2 you're the one commenting on my comment, you go away.
+1 2 he has the right to whatever religion he wants, back off. I guess you haven't learned that yet though, you will in 6th grade probably :)
can't say anything to an islamophobe it's like talking to a wall lol
Mote Plox. Seeing your videos really makes my heart pound. It makes me want to relive my childhood memories. I know the OSRS is still out there but it just doesn't feel the same it used to back in 05-09 when I was still playing.
Great video as always Mote! What if N0va is out there playing Osrs for fun, not competitively? :o
Osrs
No he's playing RS3 obvs Keepo
+NxL lol
the feels... These pictures cannot be re-created again...theres only one, and always will. those years were just the beginning of RS when i was young. Oh how I remember..
deep in me something died seeing this, probably a chicken nugget.
Thank you Mote. I had forgotten. This video brought a tear to my eye. A True legend, he definitely understood how to love the game. Thanks for showing the images, and his old site.
Why does Mote Plox make you wanna play osrs?
+iWork Hard I think it's because I remind people of why they started in the first place. :) Or I try to atleast. RuneScape is competetive now and days, which is fine, but I just want people to remember that at one point in time, it was because the game itself, and not the grinding, was the most fun part.
Thats so true. I think all the true oldschool players really miss the Elvemage, Kids Ranqe, and I Mahtama days.. And your videos are just so damn nostalgic everyone can't help but be a fan. Thanks Mote, keep it up!
+iWork Hard Thank you man, for all the kind words. :)
I found your video's about three days ago and then came across this ... Extremely moving. Actually made me cry
>Thought no one would get 99 in any school because of difficulty
>Cooking
+Adam Gomes In RSC you had to use each fish on a stove/fire individually. Also you couldn't buy noted items so the max amount of raw fish to could trade at a time was 28
+Adam Gomes You probably never played classic huh? Try getting cooking to 50 once if you've got access to it, and then reply here lol.
+Dustin Wallace If you cant do that = noob
+Adam Gomes >using meme arrows outside of fortune
+furrycannon
those lob certs, and "selling r2h press 111" feels
A true legend right here. Never met the guy, but I remember his hype. No longer play the game, but I watch your videos for the feeling of nostalgia, and this was one of the strongest feelings right here. I miss the good ole days, Mote. I miss walking around Varrock with the feeling of unfamiliarity, I miss the feeling of selling cow hides, and I miss not having to pay for car insurance, a car payment, rent, PG&E and taxes.
lik if u cri evri tyme
This is great, man. I always loved N0valyfe. still join his cc once on a while
Beautiful video, Great work man. He was indeed a legend.
I started around 2007-2008 when I was like 8 or 9 years old. Sad I missed out on one of the greats. Thanks for sharing this! I never would have known about such an amazing player.
Mote, you are a legend among men, keep up the great work and I hope you continue to grow into the best RS video makers out there.
As I have continued to play RS since 2007/2008, the game has become more about stats and grinding more than what it was originally:
an adventure.
Such an inspiration, this makes me so happy that there were people that loved the "game" in that sentence.
MOTE THESE VIDEOS MAKE ME TEAR UP GOD DAMNIT MAN HOW DO YOU DO IT.
THIS GAME IS JUST SO GODDAMN BEAUTIFUL
You know... This is beautifully put together man, I remember being young, playing this game and I remember when he was fighting for rank 1! I hope the man himself actually gets in touch with you. Amazing video
Remember meeting Yogosun while woodcutting willows in seer's village back in the days and was so hyped xD
Rise to the heavens in glory and honor friend, you've more then earned it.
hiandSage
mote pote
Its Zonghui :) Also people like Song Flower, Snake Slava, S A X, etc.
Damn dude, i started playing in 06. He probably quit before i started playing because i only knew about Zezima.
Respect to the man, he will be completely forgotten because a lot of the players now are not old players.
That is heartwarming man i remember him and remember everything i did in this game, i miss the old days..young no responsibilities played this game all day and felt happy for 99 :)
beautiful video mote! didn't know the player myself but nice seeing g how much of an impact he's had on your life! good work pro!
So good, tears in my eyes.
Thank you Mote Plox for making this video
''sorry for my bad english it's not my foreign language, Runescape thought me ;)''
Favorited. What a great video.
The effort shows man, keep it up.
What an achievement. Considering how different the game was way back then, how much more challenging it was, you really do begin to appreciate the amount of time, effort and dedication N0valyfe put into this game. What a true Runescape legend.
I played AoE with Jordan. Great guy
