As a high school bassist, I just have to say that those chords are heavenly and this guy is absolutely amazing. My section just sends his videos back and forth to each other, wondering if we'll ever be that good. He makes this song, which was actually written for high strings, sound easy for a bassist, and I can tell you it's not.
The mark of the virtuoso... to make it look easy, like anyone could do it. I seldom venture into thumb position. As Clint Eastwood once said in a movie- " A man's got to know his limitations." Thankfully, Mr. Weksler doesn't seem to have many. I just sit here and watch this, smiling broadly. Thank you, Lev, for sharing your gift.
Lev Weksler how long have you been playing for? I'm in the Eighth grade, taking private lessons, and hope to go to Julliard school in New York City, which is extremely challenging to get into.

I think that it depends on how you train and how your teacher teaches you. I've had bass lessons for 8 years and still practise about 3 hours a day but the training never got me somewhere because my teacher hold me back. So the lessons got waisted. Now I follow lessons from someone else and there is really good process 🙃.
