A friend of my Dad had a 36 Chevy coupe. My dad helped him build it. The sectioned the dash from a 57 Chevy and put it in the 36. I last saw it in the late 70s. Beautiful car. Yours looks great too. Thanks for the video and memories.
One thing that I've enjoyed, is every time you needed something you'd just shake the shelves , and something would fall out and you'd make it work. great creativity Dave
Love the video. straight to the point , great work ! The ones who actually work on their cars will appreciate all the work you put into it without having to see every detail .
Nice build ! Im starting a 41 chev coupe and the video answered a miriad of questions in my mind about the direction to go. That steering set up was ingenious. Thanks for sharing!
I definitely have enjoyed watching your build, and look forward to your videos. Im just an old stock car guy and have built a few roundy round cars but nothing for the street. I sure enjoyed your being humble and dealing with adversity (learning process) and the help youve had from your viewers (and Ted of course) helping with advice and guidance and your perseverance. Pretty cool a guy can build this in his driveway/garage with basic tools.. Looking forward to you enjoying all your hard work and driving your dream.
A real accomplishment Dave, considering you started this one after getting kicked in the you know where on the last build and what you started with. I'll be following your channel what ever your working on.
Hello. I really appreciate your videos because I have a 1936 Oldsmobile 4 door sedan which is very similar to your car. I am about to tackle the sagging doors with a plan similar to yours. It's nice to see that it worked. I am also " hot rodding" the car. Don't have the same skill set as you but I'm getting there with the help of friends and beer. Your car looks nice. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
My apologies, I thought I commented on the video, but a bit late... so great work here, and keep these coming, I'm amazed how many guys got cars finished in 2020... I wonder how many will be done in 2021
I had a 36 Chevy back in the 60s had an Oldsmobile V8 53 model, cam, high compression pistons, adjustable rocker arms, it was street legal, the tag in Oklahoma was $3 I bought it for $125 someone put sugar in the tank fuel pump was bad and carb needed kit, I had a lot of fun in that car, I am 78
I am not one to nitpick but the thing that I feel needed to be pointed out is the poor fitment of the leather seat covers. The thing that makes or breaks a car is the builders attention to detail as it takes the build to another level.
Thanks for your input, I'll let my wife know, and then you can deal with the scorn, lol. I think they look pretty great. After a few months they smoothed out and the wrinkles are gone.
Wow, hard to believe it's been a whole year already. Quite an accomplishment on your part. Looking forward to what your future holds. BTW. can I ask you what kind/color paint you used on your heater bracket. I really liked it and would like to use it on some of my brackets. I actually think that, that would be a nice color gray, to paint your car. Thanks
Bet your HOA loves the car sitting in your driveway!! Here where I live if I owned that, they jerks around me would have a tow truck loading up my car at MY EXPENSE even if it had plates on it!! Just goes to show you how truly crappy some places are to live!! The sad thing is they forced my neighbor to get rid of his classic car which was a 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix (limited NASCAR edition) with the "aero coupe" rear window!! And his car was legally licensed, inspected, and on the road, though he only drove it on "select days" because of its "rare status"!! In fact they (the Home Owners Association) demanded he either sell the car or drive it more and claimed it was an "eye sore" in the neighborhood!! Which that too is a F**KING JOKE because our "neighborhood" is a silly A$$ trailer park!!! And likewise the place across the street from both my neighbor who owned the car and myself was abandon, owned by the park itself and sat around in disrepair for at least SIX YEARS, and yet they gave him crap about his car, when their own home (the parks') was a $hit pile eye sore we had to look at daily!! Hell one of the other tenants they had here rode a Harley to and from work all summer long when his car broke down.....they ended up evicting him under a noise rule, which is strange because the park maintenance person drives a truck with a straight pipe exhaust and he is still allowed to live here!!
We don't Have a HOA. I would never live in a place with one. If anyone has a problem with me I encourage them to let me know, and I'll do my best to accommodate them. So far no-one has complained.....so far, lol.
You often state concern over rattles and clunking in your posts. I wonder if welting between fenders and body might help things be more solid/quiet, maybe even between fenders and running boards. Just thinking . . .
I have an entire year of videos documenting EVERY step of what I did. Did you miss the name of the title? I just watched your tackle box video where everyone was complaining about your music. Hahaha, pot/kettle?

A great achievement sir, I forgot how long I been watching. You must feel like one of the moonshiners driving down those back roads.
Thankfully no cops in hot pursuit lol

That was some pretty slick editing there Dave. Thanks!!
Thanks. It got better half way through when I worked out how to match the beats with the cuts, lol.
Cool trip down memory lane Dave
Great build, thanks for posting!

Hey Nigel. I had no experience before I started all this. Couldn't have done it without all these fine viewers.
Awesome Dave ! Congratulations on a job well done!
Always great to see a good honest home built rod getting built.
The build, the music

Carnt wait see you next year lol happy New year and a safe one
Great build! The Halloween shots were awesome!
I had to make an effort for the few kids that made it out during the pandemic. I'm going ALL-OUT this year, lol.
The Shinehauler!
Nice build , Great to see it get done right the first time, Good luck with it.
Very cool build!
Thanks Barry. I love it.
That 1936 chevy coupe is very similar to my 1935 Pontiac Coupe.
I think I might have a couple more windows. The 35 is a very nice car.
No BRACKETS were harmed in the making of this VIDEO..!
Are you sure ??? I thought I saw some cut off then reconfigured . Did a great job .
Hey Dave. Nice video. I watched all of your videos from the bring home to the drive from home. It's been a journey for sure. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

Drive way far,far away (Canada) lol 🤣😂
Much respect. How many times did your neighbors call the cops
They don't call the cops, they just move out, lol.
Awesome video
Thanks Koa.

Rustoleum wheel paint. Think it's just dark silver, I'll check next time I'm out.
@@ScottRods Thank You
All that work. And you take it out on the salty Road??!!
Well yeah, it's a car. Would you rather it was in a museum?
@@ScottRods no. I would wait for some decent weather and then go tear it up. I won't drive my car's in the winter
@@danesderelicts What about your Samurai and Wagoneer? lol
@@ScottRods the wagoneers the yard truck. Samurais are cheap and plentiful
@@ScottRods the Wagoneer never when out on salty Road

Yes, I do need to do all that. Getting there bit by bit.
my neighbors live close to me also and the would be pissed
I'm looking for a 36 right rear fender for chev coupe
I’ll keep a lookout.
So what's next?
I'm not one to talk down to someone about safety but shouldn't you be wearing gloves. It looked cold out there.
Did you mean when I was driving? I hate wearing gloves when driving.
I would have watched it except for the loud music which ruined the video.
Ok, no problem.
Sorry, what heve yu done to this car? half-customization or restore a little ? didn't like...
You don't need to like it, as long as I like it, lol.
Why play music from Hell with your master project?
I thought the music was ok. What music do you use on YOUR videos?
@@ScottRods I don't have any videos. If I did, they would either have no music at all, or some magnificent classical music.
@@caduceus33 Ok, cool. Let me know when you upload something and we can discuss.
to bad you couldnt have given it a build it deserved thats pitiful im sorry but its the truth
Thanks for your view. I'd love to see your creation.
Everything cool, but an automatic.
It's all I had when I started the build. Next project has a manual box.
Change the title to "RAT ROD"...
Why?
It would have been better if you told us what you were doing at each stage and what we were looking at and left that garbage music OFF
