oh hey, Jenny. Fancy seeing you here. I never realised you liked Porter... you've never mentioned him on your channel or played any of his songs as far as i can remember... (just kidding, hi! rockin' set , right? and crazy good production)
Watching this live made me cry multiple times. My girlfriend, my bestfriend, we saw you together in New orleans in 2019. She passed away suddenly this February. I miss her every day. every single day. Your album came out in the following months and while I was so sad she wasn't able to hear it, it has helped me immensely. As someone who is experiencing the darkest time of their life by far, this album helped me cry, helped me remember, helped me survive another day, helped me breathe when i felt like i could not. Porter, Paiton and I are your biggest fans and love you dearly. We had such an amazing time at your show together and it was always one of my favorite memories, we were longtime best friends and your show was when we really started falling in love with each other. Thank you for being my and so many others something comforting.
My brother passed away 3 days before nurtures release. Porter was his greatest inspiration and couldn't wait to listen to it. I'm just so glad that so many people find his music inspirational and as impactful as I did. My life would not be what it is today without "worlds" and "nurture". For that, I thank you, Porter
Man... I’m so sorry for your loss, losing someone close to you is the one of the worst things that someone can go through. Much love, and if it means something, I’ll be praying for you ❤️
I really have a lot of appreciation for Porters creativity and vision but also the determination to see projects like this through and have them come to fruition. All the logistics and planning for a show like this were extensive I'm sure
He already confirmed on Apple music that Sweet Time and Blossom are for Rika. I'd recommend reading what he has to say about those tracks on Genius lyrics, it's very sweet
Here to cry for round 37? Whoever is here vibing with me for more then there 3rd time drop a like. I wanna feel the vibes y’all... Thank you Porter for saving my life. Worlds helped me get off drugs. Nurture is nurturing my recovery. “Keep going, keep going, keep going. It will all be okay in the end.”
Porter's music doesn't joke around. one minute you're vibing the next you realize everything you need to change in life and what happens if you don't. not all heroes wear capes. Keep going, it will all be okay in the end.
funny cause I used to love porter back in the skrillex days and i refused to give a real listen to any of his new stuff outside of virtual self, it seemed so not my cup of tea. But after watching his live performance of these new songs and hearing the lyrics and how he performs them live, inspired me go back to college and finish my audio production degree. I lost passion for music til seeing him perform this artistry live. This is magic if your in the right frequency and can give it a real listen, a true artist can inspire others to do what they thought they couldn't.
The journey this live show takes you on is INSPIRING. Porter never disappoints in the worlds he builds for these performances. An inspiration for a generation of nerdy internet dwellers. Thank you for giving us another home Porter.
I can't sing "I'm still here, I'll be alive next year" without getting choked up EVERYTIME. Thank you, Porter Robinson for making LOOK TO THE SKY and this whole performance.
Knowing about Porter's struggle with making this album after the success of his 'Worlds' album really makes the moment between Unfold and Divinity (@59:15 onwards) really spectacular. Looking at Unfold's lyrics: "And i watched the water unfold It’s a feeling I want you to know ’Cus I’m not the same as I was As i shoulder the weight of the world" It really seems like a conversation between Porter and his fans. This looks to me as if he's saying look at what I've made now, despite the 'weight' that the 'World[s]' [album] had on him. Maybe it's just me but it really made that moment hit harder than it already did.
Fun fact: The guy from the beginning of musician is saying "Tell every look, Tell every-(look), Right from the j-(ump)". If you slow down the secret sky show @ 32:36, it shows the same lyrics on the screen. It starts @ 32:34 btw
Porter Robinson is top 3 best electronic artists in history. Not because of fame or influence but because his artistry is on another level. Completely out of this world
@@mosesfollowerofchrist5959 Ok, Let's do this. As far as Pop electronic (no disrespect), I will take the argument to heart. He has great hooks, addictive earworms, and a unique composition that fits the pop formula perfectly. I would go with Daft Punk and Massive Attack over Porter Robinson in that group. As for pop electronic (again, no disrespect, I love pop) you can make a case. Yet as for sucka-free, knee buckling, gravity enriched artistry. Banco De Gaia (Toby Marks) Aphex Twin Squarpusher Plastikman Rivers Console Mr. Projectile Orbital FSOL Lusine Chritian Loeffler Aparat Just to name a few, come before Porter. Unless Porter Robinson is all the way up his own ass, I think he would agree with me. Now instead of dismissing this opinion, I encourage you to look up some of these artists aforementioned if you haven't already. They have produced timeless pieces of work. Mind you, I like Porter Robinson stuff, I do, but let him create his body of work before we throw the guy in the GOAT status. Cheers!
@@rhythmvato1 porter definitely got big inspiration from daft punk and they are timeless I haven't heard of near most of the people you mentioned and won't be bold enough to say they don't amount to porter but as far as electronic music I think he's up there. I will consider your opinion and will look into these artists but quite honestly as far as what I have listened to electronic or not I think porter is the best artists I've listened to in my opinion. But I do think he will continue to grow and this is a step towards his future.
@Captain Blacktooth honestly looking into the names I did my statement still stands. Porter is a master of the craft. Also music or rather art is subjective so we can disagree on this.
The Goodbye to a World section was like his send off and closure to Worlds. His great work inadvertently drove him to being sad. It felt like he finally made peace with everything and was able to move on happily. Almost like saying Goodbye to Worlds in an endearing way.
I feel like there is such a bittersweet vibe whenever he mixes in tracks from worlds, like the album's success indirectly caused him the next 7 years of pain and self-doubt, but it's really cool to see him mix it in like he has finally come to accept it is a part of him and to not fear it in a sense
@@dakaiw You can find alot of his description for the album and songs all around, but to summarize basically, after worlds blew the legit fuck up making him pretty famous and incredibly famous in the edm scene, he basically felt like he couldn't ever top worlds. Thats the reason he spent so long on this album, because he hated everything he wrote and would try again, evenchally he got to a really dark place where he locked himself way from everyone because he didn't think he was trying hard enough or that in general he was even good enough. Worlds made him one of the most recognize names in edm and the weight of that crushed him for a really long time because well, how do you live up to that?
@@Confusion7182 same with the line in 'trying to feel alive': "maybe I don't need to feel satisfied // maybe its a gift I spent all this all this time just trying to feel alive" I honestly can't even imagine how dark of a place Porter got too, but its good he is finally out and healthier again mentally
You are so beautiful, Porter Robinson. I am so drunk, in this moment, but it is in this moment that I am here, telling you. You are so beautiful. You know this. A fact that cannot be altered or edited. You simply are so beautiful. All of your songs, your works, your visions - such beauty. Language, Spitfire, Worlds, Shelter, Nurture. Your work changes the game, changes lives. Do you realize that? Your star is so high, way up in the sky. Come down, and chill with us. Realize what we see. Down here, as we are. Adoring you and all
(Tw: suicide) About 4 years ago I tried to commit suicide, with his Worlds album being one of the last things I heard before I did it. Somehow, it failed... and I’m happy to be here to hear this album. The lyrics of “look at the sky” hit especially hard after what’s happened. Thank you for making music, and being you Porter Robinson.
I doubt you will see this. But by the off chance you do not want you to know you’re changing lives for the better last year was probably the hardest year of my life. I was at a job that basically made me feel worthless as a human being, and made my depression so bad that I thought the only way out was offing myself. There were very few things making me feel like that I could keep going on doing what I was doing and still had value in life I’m not exaggerating I would wake up every morning and play look at the sky. it gave me the strength to get out of bed every morning and feel like I could still do some thing and I still had value your music gives people the ability to feel happiness, happiness and love. You are healing people whether you know it or not please never stop sharing your gift with the world people need you.
Dang, this situation sounds similar to mine last year. Except I was at a job where I was put as the boss. None of my own bosses treated me right, I was always by myself working everything for long periods of time, and my employees weren't much help either. I had the biggest mental breakdown of my life. The only thing I could do was turn on Porter's music and use it to help me cope with the hardships I faced. That was, until I quit and found a better job. And it feels so much better listening to Porter with a positive attitude :)
i’m sorry that you had to go through that. Waking up at 4 o’clock in the morning because you want to throw up at the thought of going to work isn’t anything someone should have to go through I did end up finding a new job as well. it’s not exactly what I was looking for, but the pay is enough and the people are genuinely kind, and for the time being that seems like enough for me. Since then I was also able to slowly ease off of my anxiety and depression medication. I’m now at a point wherever I don’t need it anymore without any repercussions. I’m thankful that it was there when I needed it but I’m also happy to be myself again, Onwards and upwards!
I loved getting to share this experience with all of my brothers and sisters from around the world. Godbless and thank you all for spreading the love :)
Blossom is my favorite song of the album, as it describes perfectly this feeling I have for someone. I’m glad for what Porter said: “this song is for the love of my life, and for the person who really truly saved me and helped this album actually come into existence”
Next stop-- Live show!! I’m 49 years old and this kid is such an inspiration. I’m a chef and when I’m listening to our music, man my food is off the charts. We are creative creatures. Ty 👊🏼❤️💨

Man this whole performance is beyond breathtaking but my favorite part has to be how genuinely wholesome it was to see Porter jamming at the beat drops
I’m a musician who is struggling to write new music for almost 8 years now. I may have not recovered yet, but Porter’s music made me calm, and inspired to move forward. Thank you so much, Porter.
When you're second-guessing yourself and feel like everything you come up with isn't good enough, try to remember those lyrics from Get Your Wish: "I have to write the meaning of my life, or else everything's in vain." And its conclusion, "Get up and move ahead and not only for yourself, 'cause that's your role, the work that stirred your soul. You can make for someone else." Even if you don't feel happy with your music, people will find value in it just by you sharing it with them. Cheers and best of luck, friend.
I think Nurture could be an amazing inspiration for you, the lyrics often talk of Porter's personal struggle with creativity and whatnot. I wish you luck and I know you'll do great!!
Porter went 7 years thinking he would only make one album with people telling him its ok not to do it and he finally found a way to. I believe in you you can do it too
Whenever I see electronic music discussed, I hope it's just me, but I NEVER see the name "Porter Robinson" mentioned too much, or some times at all. He's probably the best or one of the bests ever at the present time, and he deserves so much more fame than he already has. His music is incredible. He actually KNOWS music, he doesn't just jam together different pieces and/or tracks, he knows what he's doing, he can see the greater, full picture, and that comes with his ability to play the piano, to know how to sing to a certain extent, and the fact that he STUDIED music, thing that almost doesn't happen anymore in electronic music now-a-days (and not just this genre, but in genres like trap or rap, too). His taste is so refined, I love it, and I love him.
I'm so sorry Porter Robinson. I know it's heartwrenching for you to do a concert alone without audiences. I see your face, your moves, you enjoyed it alone. No, with us, around the world eventhough we are not in place. Hope this world getting better and we will meet in next concert in the future ❤️
Normally I don't listen to any music that has sort of that beat, but honestly Porter's broken that wall down for me. I can't get over 30:05! He even said he might try rapping for a laugh! Now that I would definitely be open to!
I love it! I think it's great when they switch it up for live concerts. If I don't want it to be hard, I'll listen to the album version. I love the fact that I have 2 choices here.
I spent the entire festival in VR and I don't think I could have spent my time any better. I was incredibly tired by the end of the day because for some reason I decided that sitting down just isn't an option. I still danced through the whole last set and man it was worth it. Now I'm just hoping I can find the time to get to Second Sky this year... -edit I don't know how I did it but I found the time(and money) and it's only 27 days away.
It was amazing. Woke up this morning feeling like I actually spent all yesterday at a festival with that post fest high. Danced with everyone else I could find who had "arms", some hilarious chats with people all over the world, found some new artists I'm obsessed with now... Second Sky coming back is awesome, but I hope Secret Sky becomes an annual thing too.
Porter is the kind of artist who can bring real emotion into his show. It's not just bangers with loud drops blown through the speakers. He can lead us, the viewers, to feel his depression, his struggle, to go on a journey to heal the soul and then to finally find himself again and ready to make the world a better place with his music. Thank you for putting out a show this good and let us live your journey. Hope your life always be happy.
There couldn’t be a single thing wrong with that! God Bless You! This music makes me sad, happy, and all the good feelings! I am so glad that you enjoy this music as much as I do! It’s beautiful! ;3
I've never seen porter look so comfortable and confident in a performance. It makes me unbelievably happy to see him grow more confident in himself and see himself the ways his fans see him. It was such a good virtual festival, everyone else is lightyears behind in that aspect. I don't think I can make this next Second Sky which makes me really sad but, I can't wait for the Nurture Tour ^^
I have a very deep, special connection with Nurture and this live set. I've been working hard for months now to change my life and the life of my loved one forever. This involves a lot of work that hits me mentally every day, but in just a few months, we will stop suffering in a third-world country. Nurture is the only thing that gives me hope and I finally believe that I can achieve what I'm working on right now. Thank you so much, Porter.
Agreed. This album and live set are both exactly the push I needed and affirmation of the positive life choices I'm working hard to implement to better myself and the lives of those around me, through my writing, music, and state of being . Thank you, Porter.
I keep coming back to this. Not only is the album incredible but his live performance escalates this entirely to a new level. If I'm ever feeling anxious or depressed I always put this on, it's so comforting and hopeful. Keep doing you Porter!

電圧Volt electronic music that doesn’t strictly follow the gay vocals, build up, drop, 2.5 minute songs that most edm artists drop. Every creative edm artist will admit they love and look up to Porter and others like him
@@TheGoat-dp5xy well actually crystal castles, blank banshee and various euphoric hardstyle artists from 2012 - 2013 did it first I think, or probably I could be wrong, but porter didn't invented the creative side of edm, even though I'm a big fan of him.
電圧Volt he didn’t invent it but he definitely popularized it. Because honestly I’ve never heard of any of the artists you mentioned and I’ve been a fan of edm since 2010

porter, i cannot stress enough that you are my favourite artist on this earth. im an autistic closeted person and i would not have made it this far without your music. ive been listening since i was 12, im almost 19 now. its always been difficult for me to understand the meanings behind songs, but with you i dont even need to know the lyrics. i dont even have to try. ur music has always been the only thing that made me feel human, that is to say that ive never felt seen by anything other than the art that you make. its always been my home to come back to when im too weak to continue. worlds has been my favourite album since 2014, and now nurture gets to sit right there beside it. i love listening to how youve changed over time. thank you. thank you for doing what you love because it helps me continue doing what i love. its the middle of the night and my familys sleeping, but even in the silence of my bedroom, im screaming every word to every song. i see you. ill be standing beside you wherever you go next. cant wait to see where that is. take care of yourself 🧡
That incredible moment when PR adds a new twist to the melody in the Get Your Wish chorus that you've already been singing to harmonize with him alongside the original recording for the last year
It’s a very rare occurrence when a bunch of humans from across the world can come together for a purpose and all feel the same exact way. Thank you, PR. And even though I’m just some random UA-cam account to you all, I just wanna say that I appreciate each and every one of you.
I remember waking up in the middle of the night UK time to watch your online secret sky and then second sky live. Both times I partied and when you came to Edinburgh just down the road from my student flat it was a dream. Sometimes I still can't believe it happened and not only that but this album got me through all of nursing school. I started uni here and now I am graduating uni here.
If youre reading this porter, this mix is keeping me living this week through some bad times. Thank you for the power you've lent many of us to keep going every day.

Guys I’m so freaking happy because I finally get to see Porter LIVE in November. I have waited YEARS to see him and it’s finally happening. I CANT WAIT FOR THIS AMAZING SET 😭😭
Last year my wife and I had our first dance to Meute - You & Me which is originally a Disclosure song remixed by Flume and Meute is the instrumental version of the song. The song switches between 3-4 and 4-4 which made choreographing a first dance all the more difficult.
well. im now 23 and life is much better than when i first heard porter's music. i would have never thought that 4 years later i would find myself inspired once again by the beautiful honesty and creative pioneership of his music much later in my life. yet here I am, again, awed like a child, connecting to something that I thought only I felt, ready to move again in to a brave and exceptional new era. thank you porter robinson, you will live forever through my work if i have anything to say about it.
It was absolutely insane to watch this live. I've been a huge fan of both Worlds Live and Shelter Live, but I discovered Porter's music too late to go see them in person. So it was a truly magical experience to see Nurture Live for the first time, in full quality, with everyone else. I've been looking forward to Nurture's release and this year's Secret Sky for a long time, and to hear the live edits of both new and old songs after all the other amazing performances yesterday was just insane. Thank you so much for everything you do.
Porter has taken the best of electronic music and live instruments and combined them into something that's so much more than the sum of it's parts. How can you not be inspired by that
@@64_bit80 I think even if other artists do it, it’s a pretty small fraction of most musicians when you look at the larger picture. Artists like Porter and Tennyson are pretty amazing. It always feels like an artistic experience when you listen to these live sets. I love it haha

Knowing about Porter's struggle with making this album after the success of his 'Worlds' album really makes the moment between Unfold and Divinity (@59:15 onwards) really spectacular.
Looking at Unfold's lyrics:
"And i watched the water unfold
It’s a feeling I want you to know
’Cus I’m not the same as I was
As i shoulder the weight of the world"
It really seems like a conversation between Porter and his fans. This looks to me as if he's saying look at what I've made now, despite the 'weight' that the 'World[s]' [album] had on him. Maybe it's just me but it really made that moment hit harder than it already did.
When he just pauses to take in the moment of is all is just so beautiful and heart wrenching at the same time.
Fun fact:
The guy from the beginning of musician is saying "Tell every look, Tell every-(look), Right from the j-(ump)". If you slow down the secret sky show @ 32:36, it shows the same lyrics on the screen. It starts @ 32:34 btw

Porter Robinson is top 3 best electronic artists in history. Not because of fame or influence but because his artistry is on another level. Completely out of this world
Easy there chief, I know you’re excited about his music, but no, he may have cracked the top 25 at this point. Plenty of masters before this cat.
@@rhythmvato1 as far as mastes of the craft not many come close.

Just to name a few, come before Porter.
Wow bro si fucking true
Worlds - It’s okay to be sad...

@@OneRightClick why should grow from it if it IS OKAY lmao
@@ИгорьЛоцких because if you don’t it won’t turn out to be okay. Love/passion and obsession are different.
I feel like there is such a bittersweet vibe whenever he mixes in tracks from worlds, like the album's success indirectly caused him the next 7 years of pain and self-doubt, but it's really cool to see him mix it in like he has finally come to accept it is a part of him and to not fear it in a sense
What impact did worlds have on porter and why?
@@sharrpshooter1 damn well that makes sense. I keep going back to worlds because it’s so good.
Thanks for the explanation!
Agreed. I feel like the line "But then something must have changed in me
// I don't fear it anymore" has to do with this acceptance.
@@Confusion7182 same with the line in 'trying to feel alive': "maybe I don't need to feel satisfied // maybe its a gift I spent all this all this time just trying to feel alive"
I honestly can't even imagine how dark of a place Porter got too, but its good he is finally out and healthier again mentally

When you're second-guessing yourself and feel like everything you come up with isn't good enough, try to remember those lyrics from Get Your Wish: "I have to write the meaning of my life, or else everything's in vain." Whenever I see electronic music discussed, I hope it's just me, but I NEVER see the name "Porter Robinson" mentioned too much, or some times at all. His taste is so refined, I love it, and I love him.

porter, i cannot stress enough that you are my favourite artist on this earth. im an autistic closeted person and i would not have made it this far without your music. ive been listening since i was 12, im almost 19 now. its always been difficult for me to understand the meanings behind songs, but with you i dont even need to know the lyrics. i dont even have to try. ur music has always been the only thing that made me feel human, that is to say that ive never felt seen by anything other than the art that you make. its always been my home to come back to when im too weak to continue. worlds has been my favourite album since 2014, and now nurture gets to sit right there beside it. i love listening to how youve changed over time. thank you. thank you for doing what you love because it helps me continue doing what i love. its the middle of the night and my familys sleeping, but even in the silence of my bedroom, im screaming every word to every song. i see you. ill be standing beside you wherever you go next. cant wait to see where that is. take care of yourself 🧡
Fellow autistic person here and your words resonate a lot with me. Thank you for putting that out there ❤️
That incredible moment when PR adds a new twist to the melody in the Get Your Wish chorus that you've already been singing to harmonize with him alongside the original recording for the last year
how does he do this magic every era; worlds, shelter and now nurture
Man is a muscial wizard. Every live set i can listen over and over and never be tired of it
It’s a very rare occurrence when a bunch of humans from across the world can come together for a purpose and all feel the same exact way. Thank you, PR. And even though I’m just some random UA-cam account to you all, I just wanna say that I appreciate each and every one of you.
i feel like this is the kind of music you hear while you're floating in the sky and ascending to heaven
Savage
just so you know i’m sure porter would agree that that power isn’t his it’s yours and i know you’ll see that one day.

This mix is helping me celebrate that I did keep going. I hope you're there by now too, and if not, I'm sure you'll get there. Keep going.
We are all infinite energy... infinite love. Remember that and tell yourself that. Its been helping me through a really rough year. Positive mantras. Better then telling yourself you are sad or depressed. You got this 👍
It is just an absolute treat to watch Porter perform. It always puts the happiest and goofiest grin on my face to see him just absolutely vibing.
We literally watched Porter Robinson grow as an artist and I am so glad that I witnessed that journey. Amazing.
Porter has a way of making us musicians feel like we aren't alone
This show is one of the most energetic and professional shows that I had ever seen in my life !
damn tôi k ngờ mình lại gặp đồng hương ở chỗ này:)))))))
@@ducnguyenxuan2934 toi biet :)). it ng nghe qua!
Wind Tempos into Blossom into the End of the World is the best part. Beautiful stuff right there.
I'm so glad to be alive and healthy in middle of all this chaos, I've witnessed this yesterday at the Digital Festival, tears of joy during all the set.
And now this TRULY AMAZING artist give us the FULL SET IN MOFO 4K!!!
Porter Robinson u change lives, u transmit light, u inspires us.
HUGEEE THANK YOU!!!

We hope you will, You matter!
Guys I’m so freaking happy because I finally get to see Porter LIVE in November. I have waited YEARS to see him and it’s finally happening. I CANT WAIT FOR THIS AMAZING SET 😭😭
I'm seeing him in Spokane! I'm legit so excited!!!
@@Twinkle12821Aj it’ll literally be life changing!!
@Auzyy Texas gang!! 💪
Same! November 12
seattle tomorrow :)
something comforting makes me cry every time … it gives me flashbacks of my happiest times. thanks porter for making such a beautiful song
when i get married my future wife and i are gonna dance to this version on blossom 🤍
Me and my fiance agreed to as well!!!!
Last year my wife and I had our first dance to Meute - You & Me which is originally a Disclosure song remixed by Flume and Meute is the instrumental version of the song. The song switches between 3-4 and 4-4 which made choreographing a first dance all the more difficult.
@@EM-wt6qe you & me is one of my favorite songs also CONGRATZ on your marriage
@@JennyCupcakes thats amazing hope it goes well🤍
I was literally thinking that as I was sobbing my eyes out to this song - it really captures what it means to truly love someone.
You’re the best musician in the world!!!!
I loved your cover of his song!!
Wewww beatboxer
Soso you are also a great musician
anyway, let's party now
*crowd goes wild*
sosoもporterもどっちも好き❤️
well. im now 23 and life is much better than when i first heard porter's music. i would have never thought that 4 years later i would find myself inspired once again by the beautiful honesty and creative pioneership of his music much later in my life. yet here I am, again, awed like a child, connecting to something that I thought only I felt, ready to move again in to a brave and exceptional new era. thank you porter robinson, you will live forever through my work if i have anything to say about it.
Absolute Insanity. Pure euphoria. Deep sadness. Triumphant growth. OVERWHELMING EMOTIONS. Thank you, Porter Robinson.
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😍😍
don't we all?
형이 왜 여기서 나와?
믿고 있었다고!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
How can you not be inspired by that
tbf other artists like tennyson do something like this I think; not unique to Porter
@@64_bit80 oh for sure not unique to porter, but he's arguably one of the best examples of it
@@64_bit80 I think even if other artists do it, it’s a pretty small fraction of most musicians when you look at the larger picture. Artists like Porter and Tennyson are pretty amazing. It always feels like an artistic experience when you listen to these live sets. I love it haha
@@amr1t_ Finally, some fucking Tennyson appreciation! The dude's a genius.
