That's the problem. The damn offense shouldn't come to almost a complete halt because one guy isn't there. The Dodgers are getting production from the entire lineup. That's an issue the Yanks need to address if they're serious about a title.

Boone hasn't learned how to manage extra inning games with the ghost runner. The Yankees are 3-15 in extra inning games since the ghost runner rule was implemented.

The number of people telling me that the Martian is blocked on the reddit sub reddit and NYY news or whatever they fuck they call themselves now NYY underground or whatever is hilarious. Except for very favorable matchups, Stanton should be benched, used as a pinch hitter and then immediately replaced on the bases if he gets on. That's how you make room for Dominguez. Stanton on the bases is a liability but he can still be useful as a power bat to hit for someone in the bottom of the order
I can't recall any team winning the WS with a big hole up the middle and no production almost from 3/4 of the infield.
Derek they have to make some internal changes. Team has only 4 good hitters, judge, Soto, volpe and verdugo.

DFA jones, call up Caleb durbin. Kid is a Swiss Army knife that can play anywhere with a super low K rate and puts the ball in play

Jasson hit another hr last night. That is 5 hr in 18 rehab games across 3 levels to go with a .348/.403/.566 triple slash line. He's ready. He was ready last year. If he wasn't hurt last year he'd be batting cleanup right now. It's just a question of where he is in the process of his rehab. My guess is sometime this month. Verdugo is a rental and while he's been a nice player and a good clubhouse presence you can't let him block the phenom when you are trying to win the world series for the first time in 15 years. With Soto day to day this is the move.
Stanton is tied for 16th in the AL in RBI. How is that not productive? We have a lot bigger problems than Stanton. Of course his strikeouts are annoying and I agree that Soto should have pinch hit for him in game 1, but he’s largely been productive.

They had a tight loss Friday, and the first real blowout in a long time yesterday. We NEED to salvage this game to at least restore our swag again

The most expensive thing (in terms of prospects) to find on the trade market is usually starting pitching and the Yankees don't need that. Position players aren't crazy expensive and relievers usually aren't crazy expensive, especially if they're not Josh Hader. I feel like they can make some moves to improve this team without gutting the farm system ....the questions are will they and are they going to wait too long to do it? Make a trade in June. Be the first team to dive in because this team is too good to waste by letting games right now slip away.

I'd like to see the Yankees at full strength, with Soto and Cole facing the Dodgers with Mookie and Shohei actually cooking, Max Muncy back in the lineup, and probably the addition of Tommy pham, and Luis Robert Jr, which I think they will both acquire to shore up that week outfield and their bottom of the order.
We have reliable hitters in Volpe, Soto, Judge, and verdugo but from 5-9 hitters just hits rock bottom. On the catching side we knew Trevino would be going down to earth but the catching position is normal. I worry more about the first and third base situation. And Torres…what can I say about this.
I see this series as a blessing. How? We get to see what we are like without a Soto in the lineup. We know what moves needs to be made. And it doesn’t require major trade moves. You can have Ben rice at first and Dominguez when his rehab is more complete to put him at center or right or at DH.
At first at this point you can’t go wrong with rice playing at first for Rizzo. Not even at defense since Rizzo has also slipped up as well. Than you have the Martian whom when ready can replace Stanton. And the thing right now with Stanton and Rizzo I feel this organization doesn’t have the backbone or the balls to tell them both that they suck right now and you will be at the bench.
At second I mean I have no comment and unfortunately we have no good options at second. You have Peraza but he isn’t hitting anything. But than again at least you have defense so put him in if not for that.
ONLY thing about all of that is that the organization feels bad to sit these players cause it might hurt their feelings. The solution at least on paper is there. There has been enough wait on these guys and it’s just. It going to happen.
They know what needs to be done NOW without any major trade moves. DO THEY HAVE THE BALLS TO DO IT.

Now this makes no sense whatsoever: Grisham was considered so bad last night that Jahmai Jones was sent up as a pinch hitter. Today Trent Grisham is batting FIFTH! This one I like: Dennis Santana DFA, Ron Marinaccio called up.
Defense and a lineup that is consistent for the most part from top to bottom wins championships.
Dodger fan here. Why do Yankees have Grisham on your roster? He doesn't belong in the major league.

platoon DJ and Rizzo at 1b -- call up Peraza to play 2b -- Cabrera 3b until Cashman can trade for a 3b -- bring up Dominguez to play CF -- JUDGE & SOTO alternate RF & DH for remainder of season --- win world series.
I think we need to trade for a 3B. Then DJ needs to take over the utility role from Cabrera because they are both not hitting well, but DJ is the one with the contract and Oswaldo still has minor league options. In the second half of the season after Ben Rice gets some more experience at AAA, call him up for 1B and Rizzo becomes a defensive replacement/PH. Call up Dominguez right now and Stanton also becomes bench/PH except for very favorable matchups where he can start. Having Rizzo/Stanton/DJ on the bench would be a huge improvement from Grisham/Cabrera/Jones

I’ve been saying this since last season…. Nestor Cortez as likeable as most people find him to be IS NOT A STARTER, NEVER WAS AN NEVER WILL BE, He was lucky for one and a half season and that’s it, he can be a good option for one or two innings every other day but that’s it.
One bad game. He's been pretty decent this season.
I personally think that everybody in the infield except Volpe needs to be replaced. DJ and Rizzo should not be starting

There is no overpowering teams in Baseball , but you got some problems with Rizzo and Stanton Dj le maihue, and Gleyber Torres, that's four out of nine. On your offense. If the Yankees can solve those four problems then they'll have a chance.
I’m so tired of this lazy ass excuse of a second baseman, a centerfielder off the bench who can’t even bunt and a first baseman who can’t hit anymore. Changes need to happen and it needs to happen soon.

I've been hoping since knowing Soto was having an issue with his forearm that the Yankees would bring up Dominguez until Soto back in lineup, unfortunately that is not going to happen in which I believe it's a mistake.
Another problem is, I’d also really really really love to see Dominguez come in and play especially in the outfield but you cannot take Verdugo out of the outfield. He’s awesome. What are you do with that guy I don’t see how to make is gonna have a great impact this year unless you’re putting him at DH and stead of Stanton and yes Dent hasn’t been amazing. She hasn’t hit her average but he’s hitting bombs I know that Domingo’s would be better at DH but are you under utilizing them and what are you do it stat and you just sit them on the bench?
Just a reminder to any Yankees fans that have forgotten but we got DJ for 2 more and Stanton for 3 more seasons after this season,so I’m not really sure what you expect them to do with them
I'm not to worried about them this year. I think they both have something left in the tank. Stanton especially feels like if he gets locked in he can go on a tear the bat speed is still very real. DJ rakes the second half last year so idk we shall see I think he just needs a few more weeks without a full spring training.
Bringing up Oscar Gonzalez for Grisham is a no-brainer at this point
This team has always needed Jasson batting cleanup and playing CF to be true contenders.

I think Stantons numbers like you said are inflated dramatically by what he has done late in games when its already won or lost. He is simply a non-threat to most SP and relievers. Add to that the fact that he clogs up your DH slot making it impossible to give anyone a rest save for judge every so often its a huge problem.
Him, rizzo and torres need to go for me. We will see how serious the front office really is about winning because this is the best shot we've had at a world series in a few years. They have dominguez who can add far more value than stanton if they are willing to eat the money. I think they can trade for a replacement level 1B in place of rizzo without giving up any top prospects. They can put cabrera at 3rd and le mahieu 2nd if they're willing to trade torres for a decent reliever (or even a 1B).
The offense worries me deeply because so far this season only volpe, Soto, judge and verdugo have shown any ability to consistently hit against the best pitchers and in a short series if they blow cold or if teams pitch around those four then how much faith do you have in the rest of this lineup?
Stanton isn't the issue. Rizzo, Gleyber, Wells suck ass.

But Rizzo had a concussion that he didn’t cause last year, and DJ hurt his foot from a foul ball. A little compassion.

And as far as Rizzo I never said cut and run and his concussion wasn’t his fault. I get that. So than have him time on the IL to get his self together outside until he is supposedly fully recovered. And again not about trades just using players from our own minor league system.
The DFA chant that’s totally not good cause it’s unrealistic but the other that has been mentioned can. Compassion they have had it for so long. Torre didn’t have compassion to sit Tino in 96 to put fielder cause he wasn’t producing as well in the beginning. My fear for this club is we have too much compassion that we forget that this IS a business and has to be run like one and some feelings will be hurt but it needs to happen.
@@marcosc7375 Fielder was a nice pick up in 96, and it did spark that team. But this is what happens when you sign these guys to all that money. What do you think will happen in 10 or 11 years when we’re paying Soto 60 million a year and he’s not in his prime any more and yeah he will still have 5 more years to go at that point for 60 million a year on his contract. There are a lot of underlining things going on in baseball and a CAP is needed so teams can get out of these contracts.

Use to be on Gleybers side, he needs to sit a few days, Billy Martin or Girardi would have pulled him on friday. Put Cabrera at 2nd, dj at 3rd. Looks like Rizzo might be washed, could be age or concus hes definitely not the same.
This series sucks! But, IF the Yanks make it to the WS and play these guys again, the Dogers aren't not going up against Poteet and Cortez; they'll be dealing with Cole, Gil and Rodon.

Yeah, but so will the Yanks. Take away the grand slam, (Kahnle is better than that), and the runs Santana gave up (he sucks and needs to go), and the Yankees were in it against their very best.
Now, insert Cole, Gil and Rodon; healthy Soto, and you've got a totally different outcome.
Add to that bringing up the Martian, make some tweaks at 1st and 2nd and give 3rd base to Cabrera so he can feel comfortable and grow in that position and you've got yourself a championship caliber team. I don't know what the Dogers will do, but beating the Yanks could give them a false sense of security.

Remember , Soto isn't playing & Cole has yet to play. On Friday , Yankees spot starter matched Dodgers ace. Add Cole & Soto & things could easily be different in October.

But as you know the Yankees are over patience with their players and need to act quickly and bring up prospects who can help and if they don't go out and trade we are having a great season so far but all that can change. The Orioles aren't going away we need to step heavy on the gas we have Soto but next year isn't guaranteed he's here. AKA Yankee Mike.😊

The Yankees have definitely been exposed this series. I'm not giving up on DJ, he may need a few more weeks to dial it in. Gleybor and Rizzo have issues and need replaced. Stanton looking ugly against elite pitching. Grisham and Wells only good on defense. Santana needs replaced by Ron Marinaccio. I'm looking forward to Cole returning and pushing Cortes to the bullpen.

I am a Rizzo fan but he is done, and Torres will NEVER change his lazy, low baseball IQ, approach to every game and he has shown his ass. (Who he is). Grisham needs to play every day (never happen), or he can't hit. Don't need DJ either and we have Oswaldo so..... The Martian and Jones are in the wings, Trevino over Wells all day every day.... let's go!
