Statcast again on Gil's release point ...a full 3 inches higher on his 4 seam and overall the widest total zone between all pitches since 2022. Something is wrong . These are just symptoms. He's been very consistent with his relief point this year at 5' 7" +/- 2" . He was also out of the zone at a higher percentage than any other start this season. It's tough to judge though because he doesn't have a lot of data compiled yet.
@@Zane_Zaminsky Rodon just lost his normal release point. He was all over the place up and down. He didn't drop off in spin rate. That's usually just a lower body mechanics problem . Getting out of sync with his hip timing. Dragging the ball through the zone.
My only issue with benching Gleyber is that DJ is still in the lineup. If they let Peraza and Cabrera get a shot then bench them both but to me DJ has been worse than Gleyber. I don't know why DJ is playing over Oswaldo anyway. We keep playing old guys that by time next year comes we will still be wondering if Peraza or Oswaldo are even good enough when we could be finding out now. Smh

Wow..Gil's spin rate has crashed. Look at his last two starts on Statcast. Yesterday was actually worse than the start before when he lost about 300 rpms on all his pitches. I think you're correct .. he's got the dead arm rookies often get when they exceed past inning totals. It's a weird feeling you get in your delivery that's difficult to associate until you feel it multiple times over time. He needs some downtime before he injures himself.

This shit is totally unacceptable year after year. We don't promote our younger kids. We keep playing declining guys and keep are prospects down to long and basically get shit for them if we want to trade. I been saying we need are guys up here at 22 or 23. Not 25 or 26 or 27.
