WindRider 17 in action

We spent our hollyday in kroatia last september on the island Losinj.
It was realy a great place to be,in particular with the WindRider for island hopping
,exploring the many small beaches and the small vilage's along the coast.
One day, The weather conditions were just right for making a nice video recording and this is the result.

I see you have a hard cover for the front cockpit. Where did you get that from?

H.van Sliedregt --- Great video! I love your mods to the boat including hand lines to the rudder head and the new hatch behind it. I normally disdain deck modifications to the WR17 but yours was elegant, crisp and clean. It seems to be a very intelligent, minimalist approach and I loved it. Its brilliant! It also seems it may keep some of the splash out of the front cockpit: TRUE? Any info on the build would be appreciated. Attachment to the akas: ratcheting nylon straps? Width of strap slots: same as aka width or different? Deck material: regular or marine plywood or other? Wood perimeter support: 2x3 or 2x4 or other? What type of wood? What type of paint? Attachment in front by mast? Info on any/all attachments is the most important to me. Any info would be helpful. A few pics would be great if you still have the boat. Anything to shed light on all the UNSEEN aspects of your great deck design would be very helpful. Thank you very much. - Ron Cote Florida, USA

I like the way you tack. I just bought a Windrider 17. A 2015 white hull & white & black sails just like yours. Do you have other UA-cam videos or videos you can put on UA-cam?

I’d like to hear from windrider owners about sleeping on the trampolines .. it looks as though they could be tensioned enough to create a flatter surface ?

Do you control the rudder with your feet? I don’t see a tiller or wheel rudder controller.

I can use feet aswell hand stering. 90% of the time i steer by hand

Awesome boat. I really wish you could rent one somewhere in California or test drive it at a boat show before purchasing. Most boat owners understandably aren’t interested in renting their boat.

With your feet, though I have seen them rigged with linkage and rods to steer with your hands too.
