OH YES, You have a style!!! Maybe not so clear to many, but throughout the time i follow you here, we learn about you and your philosophy and start to see a relationship with all images you share and consequently we realise every image of yours speaks exactly what you describe them when you talked about them... Congratulations to your exhibition and will be the first of many and way bigger!! God bless you and family!
I had the absolute pleasure of being there with my friend, meeting you and seeing those pictures in the flesh was amazing! They truly are beautiful and would grace any wall! We learnt so much about paper choice and we are hoping to go back to see Jill again to discuss the end to end process, from camera through processing to printing, for a small business. Thank you so much for putting it on Thomas, a brilliant evening and we both felt really energised when we left :)
Congratulations Thomas. Well deserved. What a journey the last three years has been! Highs and lows, good and bad, praise and abuse but not ever boring. A brilliant effort, I wish you every success, and recognition for it 🍾
Awesome! Congrats on your first exhibition! I have just spent the last week watching all of your videos from your first one to this one straight through. It has been a blast watching you grow and become more comfortable with the talking to the camera. I have also learned so much and have so much motivation from watching them all I think my ears are going to fall off! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences! Cheers!
Thomas, you're such a genuine and honest guy! Love your work and i'm happy to see that you could show your skills in a proper "physical" way! Just stunning.
The decision making by an artist about what should be included in an exhibition always interests me. I think you hit the nail on the head with your subject for your first. Your choices were spot on.
One of the most interesting and inspiring things that I've heard in this video was that you admit you don't have a style. I love your shots. They are amazing. And I admire your work on YT as well. And yet, despite everybody saying you have to have your own style in order to be successful, you prove otherwise. You don't necessarily need a style to be successful. Good luck!
I'm amazed this was your first exhibition!!! 5 cracking images to display, they look stunning printed big. I did a small exhibition in a local bar last year and couldn't believe how stressful it was getting organised! Much respect for yours!
Hey Thomas, I was fortunate enough to have been there, meet you and see your work up close! Thank you once again for a great night. Its great to see the thought processes involved in putting together such a night. Great job!!
Tom, Congratulations on a big "growth" step! I know it is as gratifying for the attendees as it is for you. I foresee you buying a lot more wine and sausage rolls as time goes by... Thank-You, Mike
I'm gearing up for my first gallery show at the end of the month. Those moments of sheer terror when the larger format prints come in are nail-biting. Glad everything turned out so well!
Congratulations on your showing! It's always exciting to be able to show your work in public. It doesn't matter how many times it happens, it's still exciting!
Congrats on your exhibit! I had my 1st one last fall, at a historical museum in Nevada, featuring my desert landscapes. I didn't realize how stressful it'd be to mount it, especially since I live in L.A. & had to transport everything to the museum myself. To have the opportunity to share my passion for the desert southwest with all the tourists/museum-goers was totally thrilling. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.
So great to hear about your experience. The images are spectacular. I just finished my first exhibit on February 1 and as you said it was a huge undertaking but an incredible learning experience. I stumbled upon that 'thematic' approach as well, it made sense when you saw your selections all laid out. The printing side alone occupied a great deal of time and a good dose of stress. But seeing them printed out to 24x16 then properly mounted and framed is so cool. They looked great in the venue and the feedback was so valuable. Loved the experience and glad you were going through a similar process on your side of the pond. Cheers, wish I could drop in for a look.
So great that you had the opportunity to show your work in an exhibition. Wish I would have been able to come I love your work. Thank you for sharing your video, great as always.
I think this video just confirmed my decision to do my first exhibition and the reason is you chose to just mount on foam boards and i like that . Ever since i discovered gator foam boards, i think its absolutely marvelous, it's lightweight and all. No borders, no frames. Now i need a theme also and i can't choose even landscapes because i don't do landscapes yet.. Thanks Thomas.
I use a lot of different Hahnemuehle papers, especially the William Turner. I haven't looked at the German Etching, so I'm going to look into it. I use a silk-finished paper for some particular photos because of the wonderful glow.
Ha! That’s an important achievement for every artist, a gallery exhibition of your creative work. It is indeed a great deal of work, with many decisions involved. Congratulations, Tom. The next goal is a book?
Looks like a very beautiful selection. The choice of German Etching surprised me a bit. I work at a print lab and would never have proposed this paper for landscapes that are displayed without glass in front because it is so matt and textured. It's an interesting point about the sand coming to life with the paper, maybe I should do some test prints so we can propose this option in the future to our clients as well. Great work and congrats with the exhibition!
Congratulations Tom! I bet you had never imagined that, (a) you would be hosting an exhibition and (b) you would attract an audience AND would have the confidence to undertake such a public event, especially considering that early journal where you lost the ability to talk as there was another person nearby! You have come such a long way in a relatively short time. Excellent insight into what is required to host an event no matter the size. Take care and stay safe.🍀👌
Hello from Calgary, Alberta, Canada - Congrats on your show Thomas, how wonderful for you. All the prints you have shown are amazing. I have to agree with the comment that you do have a style in that you like the gentle curved leading lines and I see quite a lot of your images with lovely soft colours. Thank you so much for sharing this part of your life and adventure :)
Congrats on your exhibition. As an Art student I know how much work you have to put in a show. I makes you admire all the work when you walk into a room with nice prints etc. I would have loved to see the images in detail.
Congrats on first exhibition, that must be something unique! I'm more into macro photography myself, but I have enjoyed watching your videos recently. Definitely they "force" me more into landscape shooting. Keep up the good work - and Pringles.
Congratulations Tom on your 1st gallery :) The images look absolutely amazing in print! wow! Thanks for sharing the process with us & am thrilled that it was so rewarding & enjoyable for you and all who attended :)
Great images. I've had a few small exhibits and realize that only someone who has done this can appreciate the effort and angst that go into them. Keep up the good work ! Watching from eastern US.
Congrats Thomas for your first exhibition. Great selection of your work. Your videos are a great help and advice in the process for becoming a better landscape photographer. This practical advice for all keen photographers. Thanks for sharing your experiences on your various locations, which have been very enjoyable to see.
Congrats Thomas! Hopefully I will get over to Newcastle to see your exhibition before it ends. Hope this is the first of many exhibitions for you and I'm sure it will be. Well done.
Thomas, your work is "stunning" (your favorite word) but I think the star of the show is you. Your ability to take us along with you on all of your adventures is pitch perfect. I only wish I lived in England so I could've come to see it, And meet you in person. Chicago is a long way away.
All those effort you put into improving your photography paid off ( not necessarily the financial point of view ) . You must be on the right track. Congratulation.
Congrats Thomas ! I must say you have earned this opportunity to show some of your work. I wish I could see your work in person and maybe someday that will happen. I will subscribe to your newsletter so I can catch the next exhibition!
German Etching is a great choice! It’s one of the more sensitive papers, so I would suggest eventually placing it behind glass or storing it very carefully. It’s also one of the more archival papers, without any artificial whitening. Lovely paper, I have printed many images on it both colour and b/w.
Hello, Thomas! I live in Brazil and avidly watch your videos. As you said about themes, I soon remembered the ”S” curves. You really have a very personal style. I also photograph as a hobby, but things here in Brazil are a little more difficult. I love your work and I wish you continued to gift us with your beautiful videos.
Love the vlog, the humble way you share your craft and the sensitivity you display. I confess I did laugh when you said you “struggled’ with the theme, your sponsor has a gem in you. Your images evoke and present wonderment in their space, they are presented via UA-cam (a square)! Are you the owner of square space? Genius. In all seriousness, love your work.
Envy is a curse! Oh to get some of my images on the wall... a distance dream. Well done Thomas, wish i had the cash to fly from Australia to see your work on the wall ....to dream Horacio 👍🏻🍷❤️📷
I don't think you realise or have come to terms with yet, Thomas, but you're actually quite a well-known photographer. You're no small deal so the people that came from so far I reckon is because they look up to you very much. I think your photographs are amazing, and the opportunities you get to have, and I'm kind of sad I didn't know about this event before it happened, so I could've been the second person to come from London all the way up.
Hello Thomas, good experience and very good work. After listening to your video and what you said about some individuals who came a long way to the exhibit made me think that all the experiences you had and the videos on this channel in You-tube made you quite popular that definitely intrigues people to want to see your work. And you do have good narration and stories behind your work. Cheers.
Congratulations on your exhibition Thomas. Been following your work and travels for a while now. Sounds cliched but you do inspire me with your landscape photography (though I seem to be evolving from landscapes towards developing a style for seascapes & things like surfing & kite-surfing). Surprised this is your first exhibition. All the best for the future mate and look forward to more of your work. Cheers Steve, Perth Western Australia
You have a style. You may not see it, but others will know your work when they see it.. Also, I like German Etching. The other paper I'm using now is Hahnemuhle's Photo Rag Satin. I'm impressed with it too.
SO pleased for you, Tom. Actually, very surprised this was your first exhibition. With your ability, and with your passion, I assumed you were an old hand at these things.
Congratulations on your first exhibition. The first of many, I have no doubt.
OH YES, You have a style!!! Maybe not so clear to many, but throughout the time i follow you here, we learn about you and your philosophy and start to see a relationship with all images you share and consequently we realise every image of yours speaks exactly what you describe them when you talked about them... Leading lines, S curves is a big part of your style brother ! Salut de France
"Quintessentially" my new favorite word ... Best mornings are watching one of my favorite Photographer Vlogs
I had the absolute pleasure of being there with my friend, meeting you and seeing those pictures in the flesh was amazing!

Words can't describe how stunning those prints look! And yes Tom, you do have a style. Great video.

Wow that was a major accomplishment. You have given me inspiration to go back and catch up as well.
I recommend it! Some of his older stuff has a lot of good info as well!

Thomas, you're such a genuine and honest guy! Love your work and i'm happy to see that you could show your skills in a proper "physical" way! Just stunning.
Was a great evening and great to finally meet you. I was the guy from the camera club in Jarrow we spoke about. 👍
The decision making by an artist about what should be included in an exhibition always interests me. I think you hit the nail on the head with your subject for your first. Your choices were spot on.
What a great opportunity! Thank you for sharing how you experienced the process!

I love your comments on not having a style... I HATE being being pigeon holed in that regard. Great video thank you!
One of the most interesting and inspiring things that I've heard in this video was that you admit you don't have a style. I love your shots. They are amazing. And I admire your work on YT as well. Thank you Thomas, for sharing all this. It's very refreshing to see more about printing, exhibitions and all that.
Was a great experience Thomas! Delighted I made the trip from Ireland to see you and your work!
I hope you got over the Jet lag.
RKF Took me a day or two but I managed 😂
Tom. You do have a style. Solitude. Your landscapes always whisper of solitude. imagining myself in the landscape, it's always quiet and solitary.
The sand dune photo is still one of my favourite :-D
you´re style is perfection when it comes to technique and the thoughts you put into a photograph
The best part of Photography is printing and displaying your work. Great job
I'm amazed this was your first exhibition!!! 5 cracking images to display, they look stunning printed big. I did a small exhibition in a local bar last year and couldn't believe how stressful it was getting organised! Much respect for yours!
You’re by far the best landscape photographer I know. Man, those pictures blow my mind! You’re amazing!!
Hey Thomas, I was fortunate enough to have been there, meet you and see your work up close! Thank you once again for a great night. Its great to see the thought processes involved in putting together such a night. Great job!!

Congratulations. I see how happy you are. I hope to hear about your further exhibitions.
I'm gearing up for my first gallery show at the end of the month. Those moments of sheer terror when the larger format prints come in are nail-biting. Glad everything turned out so well!
That must have been very nerve wracking and wonderful at the same time.
You have earned this and much more. Thanks for being an inspiration.
Congratulations on your showing! It's always exciting to be able to show your work in public. It doesn't matter how many times it happens, it's still exciting!
Your channel is on BEAST MODE! right now. Congrats for the success and much more, you made my 70-200 my favorite lens again. Great vid

Great story, Thomas! Appreciate you sharing.
This video makes me happy. As my favorite photographer, it would be so incredible to be able to see your work in person

It certainly was an enjoyable and informative evening and the pictures were superb - thank you for the invite.
To hear you don't feel you have a theme Thomas is so good to hear. I find the same about my own work and nice to hear it's not just me! :)
So great that you had the opportunity to show your work in an exhibition. Wish I would have been able to come I love your work.

The detail on that alps image is insane! I can't believe that's a print. Blown away
You deserve to be in the geographical societies open gallery in London! Thanks for the great work, you deserve all the success you are experiencing

I want to thank you for sharing your very first photography exhibition with us, because I am looking into having one of my own.
These 5 images are absolutely stunning, Well done Thomas, well done!!
German Etching is a great choice! It’s one of the more sensitive papers, so I would suggest eventually placing it behind glass or storing it very carefully. It’s also one of the more archival papers, without any artificial whitening. Lovely paper, I have printed many images on it both colour and b/w.
Have done three excibitions and certainly I recognize all the points you are mentioning. Good job Thomas
Congratulations. People are moved by your art and have affection for you.
Congrats Thomas! A wonderful selection of images to display. That paper looks amazing to print on!
Perfect timing! I'm having my first exhibition at the end of the month and I'm struggling to pick a theme and images to show.
Congratulations on your first exhibition! That is incredible news.
Not only do your photos follow the landscape theme, but they also all have a beautiful S curve throughout them...gorgeous shots!
I remember my first exhibition, it was quite scary but at the same time instructive. Now days I love to have an exhibition.
Welcome to your new comfort zone! Hope to see more of that. gz to your first exhibition.
Great gallery! Awesome photos. I will also have my first exhibition in March. Thanks for all great videos! Keep up the good work! 👍📷
Great work Thomas. Can't believe you can get dislikes on your video. Maybe they are jealous they've never had an exhibition. Thanks for sharing
Keith

Very interesting. I think we all dream of one day having an exhibition of our work. Your photos looked brilliant. I am happy it all went well for you.
Congratulations on your first exhibition Thomas !

Tony
Congratulations for the success of your first exhibition. You are very talented photographer and I really enjoy your videos. Wish you all the best!!!
Thomas - you are has brave as hell. Absolutely stunning!
Genius theme....... landscapes
A great choice of images for your exhibition and loved hearing about your thought process in getting it all set up.

I used it on a 21.6x30" show print that's showing now, and I received a lot of accolades on the photo ( I hope it sells). It's not too popular with photographers in Albuquerque, but it works for me. The other paper I'm using now is Hahnemuhle's Photo Rag Satin. I'm impressed with it too.
Well done Thomas, congratulations and thanks for sharing!
SO pleased for you, Tom. Actually, very surprised this was your first exhibition. With your ability, and with your passion, I assumed you were an old hand at these things.
