    This is amazing! Fantastic video. Really interesting and informative. I’d love to had enough work to exhibit. Maybe in a couple of years I will. Next time you’re shooting in the UK I’d love to discuss your methods 👍

    Really interesting video Adrian. The difficult part for me is the printing as I still love film, but no longer have a darkroom, and just can't get the look I want from a scan and then a digital print. Really loving your work, and thank you for sharing your journey

    • @aows
      @aows  6 років тому

      I understand that. Are you planning on setting up a new one some day? If not, even though scanning might be the best way to do it, it does give you images you can work with.

    • @holyhoff8521
      @holyhoff8521 6 років тому +1

      I would only go back into the darkroom if it was really functional and comfortable with a proper sink and air extractors, so its unlikely. Learning to scan properly is an option, or of course getting my digital to look how I want it to in print. Need some lessons!

    • @aows
      @aows  6 років тому

      Having a darkroom does have some requirements! I'm going to be uploading some videos about how I try to make my images look a little bit more like my film images, maybe that will help.

    I appreciate the video and congrats... one thing I will never understand though is why someone would want to make their photos so tiny and matting so large. Isn't the point for people to see it? When the matting and frame literally take more area than the image, it seems like you're selling frames

    • @aows
      @aows  5 місяців тому

      Thanks! Well, that's just the way I envision my work. I understand not everyone shares this point of view, and obviously the world has decided a long time ago that the bigger, the better. I guess it's something to do with me being a shy person, I want my images to be more intimate, not to "scream" from a mile away. I want you to get close to them, like you are having a private conversation almost. I hope it makes some sense...

    Great video but why do you print so small?

  • @lonniepaulson7031
    @lonniepaulson7031 5 років тому +2

    Maybe you had it in your video, but I was wondering How big did you make the prints? How big was the frames?

    • @aows
      @aows  4 роки тому +2

      They were 7x7 inches, I believe, on 12x12 frames if I recall correctly. In any case, my prints are usually either 6x6 or 8x8, always mounted on 12x12 frames.

    Thank you Very nice! What system do you have to hang your pictures?

    • @aows
      @aows  5 років тому

      I went with what they had at the exhibition room. I do not know if that system had a name. In my second exhibition (ua-cam.com/video/W4lRelA6vEU/v-deo.html) they had chains.

      Mi fotógrafo favorito! No tengo ese libro, pero tengo unos cuantos de ese señor (todos en los USA, los echo de menos!). El trabajo que hizo en Japón me pone los pelos de punta, mira el libro "Forms of Japan". Yo tampoco puedo esperar por el otoño! Este verano ha sido muy largo jaja
