I don't even take the tracks off mine. The second set of (6) tires I built a 3 axle trailer which also pulls a LOT easier in mud and muskeg. Almost never been stuck and likely had 1500 lbs on the trailer a number of times bringing materials into remote hunt shack build. Lotta fun!
@MattSnader just got a set of rubber tracks for my 8 wheel Argo...$4300.00 cdn ... crazy amount of money tbh, but wouldn't go without them. The other thing the rubber tracks are c REALLY good for is protecting the fairy soft tires from sharp sticks and rocks etc. We found In clearing quite a bit of trail scrub there's generally a lot spikey stiff sticking up that's pretty brutal on the tires.
If the Brown bear doesn't knock you out of the cart and eat you, he will definitely get you walking home. Rides like a rototiller and floats like a turd.
For the money I would try to find a Coot, they were what the Argos wished they could be. They were made with Tecumseh motors and had a two piece body that was hinged in the middle and they could float too. Saw them go over stuff like this when my Grandfather had his, they were awesome and a lot cheaper than the Argos.
They've got the lowest model for the time the vanguard. Had they had the tractor tire bigfoot with bigger engine or the argo 8x,8, we've never gotten our ,8x8 stuck. They're amazing machines
@@MattSnader actually, if you split them logs length wise. They would not be so likely to roll when your vehicles force is applied. You know this, you are an Alaskan sourdough, yes?

Should of used plywood or put a piece down after going over logs with spinning wheels on water... put it under the trailer for trailer wheels before trying to drag it across logs😳😑🤣 😳😑🤣

Yes I need a set of tracks!
@MattSnader gonna open up ur wallet for those. 🙂 There's a few different options, but I think the rubber tracks are best all purpose track..
This is the reason I don't have tracks yet, lol.

This was useful to see both the limits and capabilities of the Argo.
put tracks on them and they will go almost anywhere.
Not sure who taught them how to corduroy a road, but you sink the logs down in a little bit so they don't kick up when you drive over them.
Put tracks on it and you will see how impressive it can be, beyond all expectations. Just saying as an owner of a 8x8 with tracks.
Yes, I want to add some tracks, I expect it would be radical.
Thanks for the video. Seems like a winch sponsorship would pay off.
The guy doing the filming sounds like Norm MacDonald lol.
LOL Yes he sounds like Norm!
And he just got promoted from Leutentent Obvious to Captain Obvious.
Haha he totally does
I think it is Norm
Put tracks on that Argo!
Putting tracks on it would definitely help
Yeah, I would like to try that sometime.
Those things are never stuck. Is that a vaguard? Doesn't look like a bigfoot. We have the ,8x8 conquest. I prefer my quad but dad loves the 8x,8
what kind of attachment did you have for the trailer ?
What part of the state was this?
This was on the Kenai Peninsula
What kind of mpg do you get with it?
Never measured it, but it doesn't seem great.
Argo would be happy to sell you some tracks.
Only a 23HP motor with a 6x6? Apparently it is enough but it just seems small for what it suppose to do.
More would be better...
Put the accessory tracks on them and they go almost anywhere.
Something tells me I have been on that trail! Is that near Peter's creek ?
Sorry, no it is in the woods behind my house, near Soldotna.
@@MattSnader Ah cool
U should put some big rims and tires on the trailer for clearance maybe it'll go threw the trails much easier?😅
I was thinking maybe tracks!
Only an Argo can do that pretty amazing machines. I am ordering a 8x8 Frontier they have a rebate on them right now.
Nice, I wish I would have gotten an 8x8. The 6x6 is ok but I think it needs a set of tracks yet.
Hey Matt still want to come see ya sometime. Love the Argo
the guy filming is superr chilled
As cool as those are. I had an 8x8 and it got stuck everywhere.

Does Argo have a 1000

They still make these?

Need the tracks man

Impressive
It's alright while your young
YOUR argo does not have positive traction only limited slip that's why it gets stuck.
I knew it was too cheap.
Appears Argo hasn't updated their website in 5 years. They must be out of business.
I bought a 2021 in December 2020 , fantastic machine
You have the logs running in the wrong direction in comparison to your intended direction of travel. 🤔
Our engineers are addressing the situation. lol.

Of course, I was just trying to teach the young whippersnappers in the argo.
Отличная игрушка
Sorry my Russian is a bit rusty
it's a land battleship
You need to put tracks on it
Cool
I guess helmets are optional??

Argo needs tracks badly
Thirty grand for a machine with no suspension and miserable ground clearance? Nope.
the base model is 8 grand and can drive across a lake but ok.
@@tewkan6533 Yep. And it still has no suspension or ground clearance, and is too wide for most of the trails where I live. To each their own.
Never had any problem with ours. It's made for mud and water not rock crawling.
