Those Japanese musicians, two years removed from the end of The Pacific War were also fantastic. Anita O'Day was the best and she, obviously got the best of Tokyo in 63'.
Just wonderful; O'Day could play with the beat and the tune on the fly. She was a complete jazz musician. Sounds like the Herman band; does anyone know for sure?
After Ella my favorite. Sadly mostly forgotten now, like all of them.
I need words. So good. Thank`s Anita.
バンドは日本のバンドですね。私の生まれるずっと前。ホントに素晴らしい!
This video recorded at TOKYO in 1963. Anita O'day with Japanese jazz band.
Awsome!
Anita!!!!!!!! Like none other!!! Utter Genius. Sings like the finest horn player - and more!!
Fantastic. one of the greatest jazz singers ever--right up there with Ella and Sarah.I played for her one night in Las Vegas.I'll never forget it!
Tell us more ...
Unreal. She was the greatest.
Extraordinaire Anita O'Day
Wow...She was Fantastic.

Beautiful
So happy my dad turned me on to Anita O'Day, Gene Krupa, Roy Eldridge, and all the rest
as a kid, including outside cats like Roland Kirk.
アニタは最高だ。
日本のジャズ面も力演!
Amazing
Yeah, Ella and Sarah were great, but I'm sorry, Anita was the best.
Well, let’s not get carried away here.
No doubt about it, Anita was great, but not quite in the same class as Ella.
@@Hithere-ek4qt I disagree. I think ANita had the nicer voice and was better on ballads. But that's a matter of taste on both our part. .
That's a crack band too!!
