I've watched football for over 50 years and finally I got to see this score for a moment; Second quarter of Georgia vs. Tennessee. No NFL game has ended like this, and to my knowledge, ever been this. I doubt any college game, until now has had this score either. So, all I can say is, thank you FAU and ODU, your programs do not exist in vain.

You know what else is insane? Old Dominion returned a 2 point conversion for 2 points. They had 8 points come from some kind of 2 point score. 2 safeties, a defensive 2 point conversion, and an offensive 2 point conversion.

Essentially a touchback on a punt or kickoff (or missed FG) results in one point for the kicking team. I think 8-1 is the most unlikely. It would mean team A scored a touchdown, then on the conversion attempt, they fumbled it backwards 90 yards, at which point, an offensive player recovered and was tackled in the end zone. This gives 6-1. Then team A must score a safety.

Of course that being their only score is almost as unlikely again, since shutouts are pretty rare these days.

There was a 3-2 game back in ‘08 that Auburn won against Mississippi State, and also a 6-4 game that Iowa won against Penn State in ‘04. Can we get that seventh inning stretch in football?! 😂💀
