The glass doesn't even get warm only the metal part gets warm/hot. Glass is not a good conductor of heat. Baby jars and food jars are decently thick glass. But honestly everyone has said that same thing. I say here see for yourself the glass isn't even warm. You can walk with it as a light if needed. Good for indoors to burn clean.

Rolled up fiberglass insulation for a wick works well, 91% is ~same price as 70%, works better too. Liner on cap for wick is redundant but does move the flame up higher for maybe easier work space use. Nice video, thanks for sharing.

I used some cotton gauze, sewed it together to make a wick and used that. Then I used 96% ethanol as fuel. I didn't use a liner on the wick as I found it unnecessary.

The container doesn't even get warm when using even for 2 hours wasn't even warm the metal rim was warm and closer in was hot. Glass doesn't insulate heat. And it's thick glass. The glass is so far from the direct flame and the one I used was smaller across. A baby jar with used Sterno wick 3-4 inch height. It's not like a glass candle that gets warm or hot the flame is outside not inside of it. Heat goes up not done. Just like my propane torch. I can have it full throttle. And the bottom couple inches you can grab with your fingers and won't burn. The top couple inches ya it will the tip glows orange. If you have mosquitoes make a few of these and fill with diesal. Diesal is essentially kerosene. #1 diesal is kerosene and used in winter to not gel #2 diesal is your road diesal and has a couple other additives, but essentially kerosene/jet fuel. Works great in tiki torches as well. $2.60 a gallon

Your flame is yellow not efficient you have to make some Breathing holes on the Pipe for Complete Fule combustion for cleaner flame of blue colour .

Or use another around it with hole.
