War Pigs live in Paris in the early 70s is on UA-cam and super popular for a good reason. It’s so cool to see them in their early years, and Bill Ward kills those drums. A must watch.
That's a horrible version where ozzy sings all the wrong words...Get some taste...Studio is the only way to hear the song...Sabbath head for half a century.
@@godbluffvdgg the 70 live version had different lyrics it was a fantastic live performance and the sound was amazing. by far the better version.. though the studio does kick ass
@@worldfamouslanglois4805 I guess that's why they make vanilla AND chocolate ice cream...Our differences make us stronger...:)..I've come to accept that, some people just enjoy being wrong...:)...
there's a reason why Ozzie was called The Prince of Darkness and this is just one instance of his creative genius, love this trip down memory lane, Thanks so much for playing this great tune.
As an old disabled veteran, I used to wake my roomie up to this song every morning. Keep in mind we were on a military base. If you listen closely you will hear an air raid siren in the beginning. I would put the speaker right next to his bunk. He was a big brother from Chicago, and let's just say he knew nothing about Black Sabbath and thought they were satanic. By the time we shipped out, he loved them. Stay on your journey. You will be a better person.
Every Tune on this ALBUM is KILLER. Black Sabbath started as Anti-Drugs Anti-War songs, but the name suggests something different. "Hand of Doom" About Heroin. "Electric Funeral" about Nuclear War. "Fairies Wear Boots" About an Ozzy Drug-Trip...
I'm not sure Sweet Leaf qualifies as an anti-drug song lol, but Black Sabbath was definitely anti-war. They were the first band I heard growing up to paint a distopian picture of war and other problems iin contemporary society rather than the rosy hippie vibe that said "flower power" was all that was needed to solve society's ills.
I'm lucky enough to say I've been able to see Black Sabbath four times every time I'm amazed by this band. On the Born Again tour I was lucky enough to get up against the barricade right up front where Tony Iommi was standing playing all night long just for me. It was a great night. And yes, Tony played smoke on the water. He did a good job, of course.
Thanks much for the reaction!! The live version of this song is killer, and the entire band is kicking butt, but the drummer, Bill Ward, is unbelievable!!
"Paranoid" and "Iron Man" are my other two favorite Black Sabbath songs, although there are other good ones as well. Ozzie had some great solo songs too.
Great analysis, glad you commented briefly on the bits about final judgement. I don’t personally believe there is one, but many do and it is an important sentiment of the song.
Great pic my friend Black Sabbath is another Rabbit Hole. Godfathers of metal this is where it all began. Must do NIB from Black Sabbath... Straight fire.
I’m so happy you did this song! I can’t sit and listen to a whole album of Sabbath or Ozzy but I do respect their talent. I’m glad you picked up on the meaning and the bad azz drumming. 💙 cheers.
Great reaction 👍 your reactions are better than a lot of others because you actually listen to the lyrics and understand them! It is an anti war song recorded at the time of the Vietnam war, but it's as relevant today as then. There is an early version of this on UA-cam live in Paris, slightly different, definitely faster and less refined but it's a must watch just to see I'll Ward drumming. Also check out hand of doom, another song with a message.
Early Aerosmith is something you must try. The first 4 albums. Try "Lord of your Thighs" which rolls into "Spaced" from their best Album: Get Your Wings.
any questions from the day ask me i grew up in this era -beatles on up saw both sabbath and led zeppelin shows and a million others.... had a HUGE record collection as rock evolved from 1961 on up
Fun factoid. Just before going on tour for this album Toni Iommi accidentally cut off the tips of his fret hand fingers. He had to tape them up and go on a grueling tour, and the album was literally sold in his blood.
I have an awesome song id like to request. Was wondering if you could do i nearly lost you there by screaming trees. It's awesome. Another great reaction. Black sabbath is awesome. The wizard by them is an incredible song
Hello from Germany! All of these anti-war songs from the seventies refer to the Vietnam War! There are so many young people in the sent dead, for nothing! Only for an ideology! All of these young lives had to die, and it was no use!In the end, America lost this war! Just like we Germans did in the Second World War, everyone cheered at first and then lost! War is never a good thing! War is the driving force of humanity, as long as there are people there will be wars! Humanity will never learn anything from this! Greetings Nephilim
I hate when people react to this video version. This is just a video that a youtuber put together and reactors have reacted to the video not the song. This video does not represent the song!
This song will always be relevant, unfortunately. You should listen to President Eisenhower's farewell speech about the miIitary industriaI complex. It's all about the money.
Well let Grandma tell you about this song since I am one is an anti-vietnam war song from 1966 up until 1975 do some research on those songs you got a lot of good ones like this😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Of course back then, the media was saying Black Sabbath was devil music....if you have the chance watch Ozzy sing this live. He was so young and Bill Ward, the drummer is out of this world...heck, the entire band is! ua-cam.com/video/PD2IT1JASi8/v-deo.html
Want to hear a real relevant song now? Prayer for the dying! Jimmy Page music he had that he and John Bonham were going to work on for Zeppelins next album but then we lost Bonzo.. so in 93 he got together with David Coverdale to make the album David wrote most of the lyrics with Jimmy Pages guitar work he had! Lot of great Jimmy riffs on this album! Prayer for the Gaza children!
this video DOES NOT GO WITH THIS SONG IT WAS ADDED BY SOMEONE YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS LATER FOR THE POOR ATTENTION SPAN GROWN UP IN FRONT OF SCREEN GENERATIONS !!!! YOU ARE A GREAT REACTOR with a keen sense of intelligence and taste YOU HAVE SO MUCH GREAT MUSIC TO DISCOVER FROM THE CLASSIC PROGRESSIVE RENNAISSANCE MUSIC OF THIS LEGENDARY LEGENDARY UNSURPASSED PERIOD
Sabbath are heavy, but Judas Priest are metal! You should really check their catalogue... They've been around for more then 55 years and still making music! They just released their 19th studio album and its incredible! They're also my favorite band. You should react to Victim of Changes (live), Painkiller (studio) and Beyond the Realms of Death (live) All these songs are from their earlier years, but if u want something newer, check Invincible Shield (from this year). Enjoy🤘🤘
How about some ROLLING STONES.. a good place to start would be “Gimme Shelter” and “Sympathy for the Devil”… 👀 (My Fav is Shine a Light, “may the good lord shine a light on you, make every song your favorite tune..”)
It's long but you should try Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull. Start with side 1 (22 minutes) and if it catches you do side 2 as well. A great concept album.....
Unless you're marketing to psychopaths, evil doesn't sell. So the psychopaths who rule have no choice but to disguise the evil they seek to do or impose in righteous clothing.
Love your reactions and insight and great song. imho... I can hear your teacher's teachings in your comments about war. I think l all I want to say is be mindful not to under appreciate the sacrifice soldiers who fought and died in wars that were necessary to provide us with a society to be proud of. Men and women have proudly volunteered to fight and die for freedom or to abolish slavery or remove evil threats. It would be wrong to suggest soldiers are just doing what politicians tell them to do. I just feel that minimizes their sacrifice. With that said, some wars, especially the more modern ones, are extremely questionable, to say the least. This song was written during the Mac Daddy of them. While I despise so many modern politicians, I can't imagine the difficulty of deciding to send young soldiers to war and to be tasked with weighing a person's life vs. the greater good of fighting for freedom from tyrants and evil. I have watched several of your reactions, and you have quickly become one of my favorites due to your insight and how well you speak your thoughts. Keep it up. You got a subscriber.
My favourite "secret" on UA-cam?? If you've already watched "all" of the reactions to what you want on YT? Search again but narrow results by "Release Date: This Month" Anyways, that's how you got a new sub just now 😂❤
The 60s were about, someone having the right to 'force 18 yr. olds (via the draft) unto the killing of people they knew nothing about. 'Their war, in other words, the military industrial complex'. By the late 60s early 70s even 'country music', went anti-war, even 'The Man in Black'. Every genre had anti-war songs. Vietnam was a big deal, then.
Great choice for a reaction. I don't really care for this particular video. This song is from 1970, but the video is from the digital age. This video seems to show a dystopian government in the future. War Pigs is an anti-war song.
I agree with most parts of what you said but alot of the leaders especially throughout history did fight in wars when they were younger. Humans and war is just human nature when you get down to it just like the wolf will fight another wolf pack almost on sight
ANOTHER GREAT SUGGESTION! THANK YOU🖤
If you want a good version of war pigs, I'm not sure which one you're gonna be showing. I haven't seen it the live version 1970.
You get it,,,,,I saw you close your eyes,,,,and just listen,,,💥💥💥👍😎
This is from the album PARANOID , released in 1969
Bill Ward one of the greatest Drummers to ever do it.
Fact 🤟

Geezer butler wrote the lyrics to War Pigs.

Sweet Leaf, weed.
You can NEVER go wrong with Black Sabbath.
Great reaction ! This song came out during the Vietnam war and was a big influence on protesters against the war at that time.
Now you're listening to what I grew up on
You're catching on! Don't stop thinking!.
Bill Ward is a drumming God, Geezer Butler is a poet, Tony is the riff master and Ozzy is Ozzy 🤟
Saw them in Gothenburg back in 1974 and they did "War Pigs". God what a great live band they where.
Thank you for such a beautiful, egalitarian comment.
I'm lucky enough to say I've been able to see Black Sabbath four times every time I'm amazed by this band. Stevie Ray Vaughan. Texas Flood live will change you forever 😎
Led Zeppelin are the goats but Black Sabbath are the OG Heavy Metal gods! #Ozzy
Black Sabbath 1968-eternity🤘
this song live in Paris is incredible. BTW, this was a fan video, great animation.
The video is not a Black Sabbath video… great song! Takes me back to Jr High!
Oh i know! I was referring to the live performance!!
"Into the void" by Black Sabbath is something you'd probably like.
"Paranoid" and "Iron Man" are my other two favorite Black Sabbath songs, although there are other good ones as well. Ozzie had some great solo songs too.
This was 1969, during the Vietnam war. And, Geyser Butler (the bass player) wrote most (if not all) the lyrics for most of their songs.
Great analysis, glad you commented briefly on the bits about final judgement. I don’t personally believe there is one, but many do and it is an important sentiment of the song.
watch the live version from Paris in 1970.. You gutta see the drummer go at it. Peace to you
Yeah, I agree. Watch this live one if you really, really want to see how they are live - maybe best live performance ever for heavy metal.

I'm in my mod 50's and grew up with this music. Loving watching your generation learn about real music. Rock on my friend!
Izzy vocals, Toni Iommi lead guitar, Geezer Butler Base Guitar. Frank Ward drums!
Gotta do sweet leaf by them next !!
The 60's and 70's were absolutely full of anti-war music and ideas. This is one of them.
Even though originally the lyrics were much different, the lyrics now are reflective even in today's news. It is the same now, as it was then.
Geezer takin' that Bass out for a walk.
A lot of this during the war. But we were fighting other countries: now we are fighting within our own borders.
This a song no onto other. I’ve never been a Black Sabbath fan. Except for this song. Which I think is brilliant.

this song stuck in the metal niche....the "blizzard of ozz" album is what put ozzy over the top and put him on mainstream radio constantly
Black sabbath grew up with zilch
Another good more modern but still older antiwar sing is B.Y.O.B. by System of a Down.

The war in Vietnam wasn't very popular during it's time.
Check out Rage Against the Machine Killing in the name of. Same . I think you'll enjoy it. A little bit harder but not much.
Crazy Train by Ozzie doesn’t seem like he is the prince of darkness. Must do a listen with the lyrics posted.
