Hey my dude I don't mean to shit on you that's not my intent, but you should work on your consistency and staying on time. Maybe look up some actual drum warmup exercises, they should help tremendously if you're religious about doing it. I'd also recommend laying down any repeating 1/4, 1/8th or 1/16th note tracks before anything else. Then you can use them to really stay in time when doing the other tracks and you don't have off-beat notes/rhythms to throw you off. Keep practicing man, I sure as shit wish I could afford an OP-1 but I am building a set of Microdex-Touch's because I freaking had to order 5 copies of the circuit board to get even one. I'm hoping it turns out almost as functional if admittedly way less stylish.
will post some actual correct timing when I intent to post an actual song :3... this is just me playing around and wanted to share. as you can see I don't care much about the appropriate time signature
@@tsunderick like I said, I wasn't shitting on you dude you don't got to defend yourself. I don't really fuck with time signatures either on purpose kind of you'll find as you get more and more into writing music Dad if you just go by what feels right you will stay in some manner of time signature even if it's a weird one. And maybe that realization has already happened to you I'm not saying it hasn't, but yeah I actively pay attention to it either. And yeah you should I guess quantize things and all the other little production tricks but I find that they act like a crutch when you get too much in that mindset. The skills that you're showing in this video, when developed, will be worth so much more if you don't rely on computers to fix things for you. I went through a phase when I first set up my studio where all I wanted to do was do all the fancy cool tricks and it really did set me back for a while until I realized Dad it wasn't a benefit at all. There is the same thing with deer, and it's kind of funny saying this to somebody with an op1, but don't get set on having to have the newest or greatest piece of gear. Gear only allows you to display your talent, it does not make you any better or anything like that. Anything you can do on an op1 for example you can easily do with a midi controller or two and a daw. So while it makes it convenient and portable, it doesn't improve your playing. And I'm not saying that to shit on the op1 I'm just saying that because it's relevant. You could insert any number of expenses pieces of gear and it still rings true. Anyways, I'm not going to proofread this voice dictation so I hope it makes sense. Cheers.
that machine seems great to make some lofi or city pop beats - so sick that you have one bro
Keep practicing ❤
This looks like a fantastic machine. Which I cannot afford.
I'm lucky man I know it's hella expensive, but there are some other options as well my dude!
@@tsunderick Enjoy it, looks like a great bit of kit!
I don’t have a program to work on, but I’ve been able to make complete songs with vocals on my field. Worth the purchase
try using a USB c microphone and then you can use the vocoder synth to add the nice mother reverb to your voice, just FYI (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
