Thankyou, i started this kit and dine the platform.... The second i started to watch this i knew i messed up, then continued to follow on the whole way through, absolutely brilliant, thanks ever so much
DearSir, this is a very good video, and the end result is quite spectacular. Bear in mind this kit is circa 1964, and the whole range stated about 1958, so all in all, I think they are good kits, and their module structure allow for modification. Regards from Australia,, Tumut.
Thank you so very much. An invaluable guide to building this challenging kit: although I managed it years ago without UA-cam😂I have learnt using your mistakes to make a pretty good fist of things 🙏🙏
Thanks Ken, I have tried to build this kit twice. As there's a lack of reference photos of the finished examples your video shows me how it's supposed to look. It's a very fiddly model to build. I used plastic parts for the guttering and there's a resin clock tower part. I have in the past resorted to using an old shoe box to help with the main building.
I wish I had watch your thorough video this morning before attacking this build. I got myself into a mess and it took a while before the structure began to take shape. You can download a pdf file which is easier to read. Not too impressed with this terminus. Metcalfe in future !
Hi Ken. Given the challenges that Superquick (SQ) kits present to the modeller, I think you have done very well. I think we may have had this discussion before, but I prefer Metcalfe kits to SQ (quite a misnomer, wouldn't you say?). This SQ kit has great architecture, but the colours and general look is just a little too toylike for me. A kit should be complete, both in parts and instructions; this kit fails on both counts. I'm going to stick with Metcalfe (not that they are 100% perfect!).
Well, the Metcalfe kits are newer, and they're somewhat more expensive. There's no doubt that the Metcalfe kits are better designed, and easier to assemble. I'm not sure that I'd agree about the appearance though - I think the SuperQuick kits can produce a result that is quite as realistic looking as the Metcalfe kits, it you can succeed in assembling them properly. And Metcalfe don't really make anything that exactly corresponds to this one... they have large station buildings, but nothing specifically designed to work with a terminus.
well sorry to say this is probably going to the bin, too many complaints to list, unfortunately my new layout is laid for this terminus, so I am off to see who else makes one, if I owned superquick I would fix this or delete it as I will never use them again.
Always looked hard to get right when you have to cut most of the pieces out of sheets of paper. I marvel now how dad made this station, given that he did it over 50 years ago; not sure if the original owner would be in a position to improve it.

The end result is as good as possibly could be

@@kleedhamhobby "...Metcalfe don't really make anything that exactly corresponds to this one...". Aye, there's always a sting in the tail!
You could be a voice double of David Mitchell.
I’m in the beginning prodded of this kit
