Thanks for the video. This kit has been on my list for a long time. With regards to the stickers, I find them frustrating as well. I have managed to reduce the peeling by giving the plastic parts a coat of mat varnish from a rattle can. The varnish gives the stickers some tooth to bite into. When the stickers are applied (and before the windows are put in), I give the building a new coat of matte varnish to kill the shine. This gives great results and reduces the "toy like" appearance.

Excellent review and construct of this highly frustrating kit set. I really appreciated your speed and pitch and high quality close up photo's. I have built 2 of these kits and I found myself nodding in agreement at every one of your comments. Those stickers are the worst ever, if you rip one you will increase your stress levels to a new high. I found that washing the plastic parts first will remove dust and reduce the amount of peeling. I used tiny dots of plastic cement on all the glazing and small parts such as drainpipe clock etc. If you don't they will certainly fall off. This kit if built slowly and with care does look quite nice but in my honest opinion for the amount of money charged the building parts should be pre painted as the amount of time and work involved to build this set is substantial and a lot of it is not covered in the instructions, you have to figure it out for yourself!

Really good review. I watched and followed your build as I had purchased this kit yesterday. The instructions are quite basic but you have made everything very clear and I'm making a reasonable job of mine so far. Thoroughly enjoy all your reviews. Thanks for posting

Thanks for this review. How did you fix that top hut? It seems that it needs to be glued.

No, it just sits on top. You could glue, I suppose, but the instructions don't say to do so, and I didn't. If you want the station to hold together well whilst the layout is moved, you might want to glue various things. But I just have this station sitting on a shelf layout, that is never moved.

The top hut is loose, so you can position it to one side to make a different building. Let's say you have two booking halls and want some variety.

I also watched your build of the Superquick train station you made a great job of it. I was tempted but I think it is a little too fiddly for me. Have you ever built any of the Kingsway card kits. They have an excellent selection of underground stations and Art Deco cinemas ?

I wasn't aware of the Kingsway kits, so, of course, I know nothing about their build difficulty etc. Looking at their web site, I'm not sure that I see them fitting much with my prototype, as I model pre-WWII LMS operation, with smaller stations (as I don't have space for a big urban layout). Other than Superquick and Metcalfe, I've used some free stuff (print it yourself) from Wordsworth Model Railway, a couple of Builder Plus things (rather rudimentary), and a couple of Prototype Models kits (very interesting, but hard to work with).

Hi Ken. Did you not find it odd that the barge boards came in two colours?

No, I can't that struck me as particularly odd. They're just decorative features, so they could be painted any colour. Although I suppose railway companies did usually tend to be consistent when painting their stations. It didn't strike me at all, until you mentioned it.
