We love our Bolt. The one pedal driving is awesome. Not hard to get used to.
We have 2 Chevy Bolts 2017! We love ours, zero maintenance except for a 12 Volt battery and new tires! You will be very happy.
Awesome to hear. Such a great car for the price. My brother loves it so far. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Buy a 12v charger. It will keep your battery topped off. I have a 20amp charger. It's crazy fast.
I only have 1
One year into owning my 2020 used Chevy Bolt bought with 21K miles. Love it. I don't think I can ever go back to a gas engine. Super fast, quiet, and smooth.
I bought a 2023 Bolt EUV last month and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I can charge for free at work, so it was a no-brainer.
That's a great benefit to be able to charge at work. It's nice to have a free commute every day. Congrats on the car.
The price is right
We have this exact car, only in red. Bought it new. Love it. In almost 4 years, we have only added washer fluid and replaced the tires.
Congratulations and welcome to the club fellow Bolter!
I have exactly the same white 2019 Premier, had it since brand new and still love it! :)))
Awesome to hear. My brother loves his Bolt. Thanks for commenting and watching.
Test drove a used 2017 Bolt w/ 50K miles on it. Fell in love almost immediately. When I finally decided to, GM had enabled the “stop sale”, to correct the battery recall issue
My brother and I both have Bolt's. On the older one, just drive it in the "L" mode all the time. Mine (22 EUV) has a button that selects extra re-gen all the time. Also, if you have an electric dryer, you can buy a plug adapter (if you have a 3 prong dryer) and an extension cord, a level 2 EVSE and use the dryer plug to charge it at Level 2.
My brother doesn't have 1, however my sister has 1, as do I
I think your very fortunate that you can get such good used evs at reasonable price.
Whete i am some 1 year old cars are selling for more than new because they're available on the spot.
Stay safe.
Congrats to your brother! Just helped my mother buy a 2020 Bolt Premier with 18K miles for $15K out the door after the point of sale credit and $16K WA tax waiver. Looking forward to the Bolt EUV returning on the Ultium Platform in 2025 or 2026. Wish they'd bring back the hatchback too.
What a great deal. Congrats on that. I am also looking forward to the new Bolt. I am curious what they decide to do with it.
I just got a 2020 Chevy Bolt Premiere EV with 22k miles for 18k otd. I will get 4k back at the end of the year. So effectively got it for 14 k. Just bought 16 inch rims and new tires since the ride is kinda bumpy which I read helps with ride comfort. It was a lemon buyback so comes with a 12 month bumper the bumper. 100k battery and 65k electric and motor warranty. Haven’t paid any money for gas in 2 weeks. Free charging all day everyday. Bought nice mats and accessories so that added about 2k with 75k warranty on tires and wheels.
What an awesome, inexpensive, and maintenance free deal that was. Also free charging. It doesn't get any better than that. Good luck with it and congrats.
Your brother got a phenomenal car make sure you have level 2 charging at your house but you may or may not need level one is okay for most and he will be fine.
He absolutely loves it. I gave him my Level 2 since I got a new one recently. The Level 1 was not quite enough to get him through the week. Thanks for watching.
I pick up my 2020 bolt premier tomorrow got a good deal a little over $17,000 out the door with only 5,200 miles on it , it was a returned lease
Wow. Great deal indeed. I love hearing about everyone buying these cars now. Congrats on the car and thanks for watching.
Is that before the $4k tax credit? I'm seeing 2020 Bolt EV's around me listed for $17k, so with the $4k tax credit brings them down to $13k. With the certified pre-owned warranties and the new battery warranty (after safety recall), this car seems like a no-brainer to me.
@@TheMule93x I'm also looking at 2020. Are all 2020 Bolts that are for sale at dealerships required to replace battery?
the video keeps saying he got a great deal on his 2019 bolt but never said what he paid for it.
I got a recalled / refurbished 2020 LT with the safety package (lane keeping, anti collision) for $15k out the door, with the $4k federal used EV tax credit going straight to the dealer.
It had 9,000 miles on the odo when I got it - the battery was not replaced, it was tested and its limited to 80% charge for the next 6,000 miles when you get it, then it will charge up to 100% when you need it for a longer trip.
the car is like new - absolutely perfect
@@kenwittlief255 Nice! You still have a chance to possibly get a newer battery as well if for some reason it doesn't pass the software 80% patch. I love my Bolt so far. It drives like a big golf cart lol.
We own two of them and we're going to go buy another one.
Awesome to hear. Glad to hear about many people enjoying their ownership of their Bolts.
I just got my 2020 now, bit of range anxiety because i only got lvl 1 here at the moment and no real local public charging. 2 weeks out till electrician can move my 20amp (for a basic class 1 lvl 2 charger 3.5k vs 7.2k) line over to my garage. It'll be roughly 15 mph charge rate but that's enough for a daily driver.
Congrats on the new car. In the meantime, remember, ABC. Always Be Charging. You'll be fine until the new charger gets installed.
I got by o. L1 w/ 2 EVs for a yr. It was heavenly when I finally got L2.
I use the paddle quite a bit. I don't use the actual brake unless I need to stop quicker.
L is for max regeneration, picked our 2020 up 2 days ago
Yes! My brother actually figured that out a few days after he bought it. We have learned a lot about the car over the last few months. Thanks for watching.
I think L is 1 pedal, there's a botton on 22/23s, doesn'tnecessarily regen more, brake pedal blends regen. The older premieres have options not available on refesh EVs, r seat heat, mirror cam
Yes. The L is the one pedal option in this car. My brother figured that out a few days later. Also, the options in this car are really nice. My nephews love the rear heated seats. Thanks for watching.
I am looking to buy a Chevy Bolt.
If you look at the charger for the bolt it should also accept 240 volt you will need an adaptor but it will halve your charge time !!
You might want to make sure he understands the difference between a Tesla supercharger and a Tesla destination charger. I don’t have a warm fuzzy feeling that he completely gets it. His adapter is obviously only good for the L2 destination chargers.
Oh we have had plenty of discussions about this. Lol. He gets it now.
Do you live in SC?
I live in Aiken SC.
I drive 2022 , Chevrolet Bolt.
Yep, close to Myrtle Beach. Not too far from you.
Did yuo check that battery was replaced and has updated battery warranty?
The Used Bolts are Now really cheap, with the used EV tax credit of $4,000 cash off right at the dealer in 2024. Our Blue 2020 Bolt Premier with 8,999 miles cost us all in out the door $13,000!
That's an amazing deal. Good find for sure.
If under $25k sales price, your brother just might qualify for the Clean Vehicle Tax Credit for used vehicles. It’s worth $4000. Requires income below $75k (single) or $150k (married). Dealer needs to submit paperwork to IRS ASAP for credit to apply.
Yes, he will get that rebate when he does his taxes this year. Since this was bought in 2023 it didn't come off of the price of the at time of purchase. Another reason why this car is such a good deal.
Congrats! Subbed. How much did he get for before the tax rebate?
Not 100% sure since I wasn't there, but I think it was around $20k. You should take a look at my recent video of his high voltage battery going bad and it getting replaced by GM. Thanks for watching.
@@TechMotoring I will thanks. About a year ago I bought a phev but I'm ready to go full EV but they're very expensive and so I was looking at the Bolt.
The Bolt is a great 1st EV. Great features, good range, decent size. So many people love the car. Including my brother.
@@TechMotoring I didn't like how they were advertising for like a year that the Equinox was going to be so affordable and yet the models that they have out right now are in the mid to upper 40s and even 50. It's like they're banking on the tax rebate which has nothing to do with discounting the vehicle
Agreed. They keep claiming the more affordable models are coming, but we will just have to wait and see.
SHOW THE CAR FAX
You never told us the price! Please tell.
Will someone please answer this question for me. In this video, it was shown the difference between 8 amps and 12 amps. Was that at Level 1 (110-120 volts) charging?
Yes. That is Level 1 (120v) charging.
@@TechMotoring Thank You! Now I am thinking if I isolate a circuit, I can charge overnight at Level 1. This gives me time to find an electrician who won't price gauge me to install a 220v 50 amp port recommended for the Chevy Bolt.
There is a mathematical formula that's been demonstrated I think once on UA-cam on how you can scientifically prove the Bolt's, state of life battery health,
and I think this is important to dive deeper into this. The reason is because when the car is going to traded or sold to another party down the road, the
next owner will logically ask, how much life is left in this 2020 Bolt premier now, to determine it's value? Your brother may or may not asked this question
if the odometer miles were say under 40,000 in 2024, but once that Bolt goes to say 60,000 or more, it's only natural for subsequent owners to ask
the most basic question concerning the battery's remaining state of health, which can't be determined say as easily as the Nissan Leaf with the SpyLeaf APP and
the third party specialized OBD11 dongle. I don't know if it's possible to assume Bolt dealership's will always be helpful in determining this years from now,
especially since the Bolt has officially stopped production and won't be returning, which really sucks. P.S. If at all possible you and your brother should dry and demonstrate on a private
road somewhere where your car and his car demonstrate the ''Blind Spot '' safety features of the car, it's one of the best safety features because it's supposed to alert you when other cars
in your blind spot move into your close proximity , but so far has never been featured in a real demonstration for us on the Internet.
All good points to make when reselling an EV. Most people will want to know the state of health. I will also look into the blind spot system that you mentioned. Maybe I will make a video about it. Thanks for commenting.
WAS IT A LEMON BUYBACK FROM GM?
how much?
I can't give a specific price since it is not my car. I can tell you that after tax credit it came in well under $20k.
