' a lot of music for a little cash '. That's how ads for the vintage model Casiotones read. When it was first released in 1980, the Casiotone was conceived of as an entry level tool for those of modest means to get into music. It was not by any measure a hit maker or even an instrument for the serious music student. But it was something that allowed Casio to gain entry into the consumer electronics market and still turn a profit. And although those models are no longer in production, they are still very much an option for the casual musician. What a difference forty years makes! Those first Casiotones used a very crude sound generation technology called vowel-consonant synthesis which yielded a not necessarily faithful emulation of most musical instruments. A couple of generations later and there's a paradigm shift in the thinking about the engineering for a Casiotone. The new AiX processor turns heads. The user interface although uncluttered definitely bespeaks a sophistication not in evidence on vintage Casiotones. Although the the latter models tip the scales at around $300.00 US, it's not grievous for the typical wage_earner. It's well within reach of most folks. It's a solid value. This isn't your Daddy's Casiotone. So, it could still be very well said that it's ' a lot of music for a little cash '
There are too many great (perfect?) things about the 400 for you ever to hear about them all. I've had mine for several weeks, and I'm still exploring. Everything useful in the X3000 with simple access; BETTER audio system, keyboard touch realism, recording studio features. As a classical piano, good enough to satisfy a Juilliard trained teacher like me also. Just order one and be patient until you can get it.
Hi sir does it have the exact aix sound chip as those of ctx series? thanks
@@palavoyz The sound chip is the same, as are I think most of the sounds, but of course I haven't compared them all. The 3000 has 800 tones, not 600 of the CT-S400; However, all the midi files of my music recorded on my 3000 sound just perfect when played by my 400. Custom user rhythms I created on my 3000 can be loaded as user rhythms on my 400 without any trouble.
It is impressive. It seems as full-featured as a WK-6600 or 7600
Ken, are you still happy with it?
The best keyboard ever..the sound of the piano kills everything..awesome..
my ctk4000 sucks at piano sound
For the money is awesome..of course three are better ones.. but the price makes the difference..remember..
Yes, I love the piano sounds 👍
I still believe the CT S1 sounds warmer than this one. To me this one sounds exactly like the CTX 700 but it's definitely in a much more user friendly platform. It's a great buy.
@@dnews9519 I realise there are better instruments, but this one , taking the price into consideration, is amazing. Few years ago it looked much worse, such instruments were more like toys..
I have it, its really good like a pro sounding keyboard at a very low cost. A ton of voices and rhythms especially indian classical instruments and rhythms. Best value for money
Really looking forward to getting started with mine. Busy summer has meant it’s been in its box for 2 weeks, but I’m prepared to be as blown away as I was with the CT-S1
which better? CT S1 or Ct S400?
@@Ruatpuia_kc_ltzacredito que só o ct-s500 "rivaliza" com o ct-s1.
Nice demo by Mike Martin. Please do another one with auto-accompaniment not just the drums and also the arpeggiator. By the way this model has a 6 tracks MIDI recorder onboard, as well as the Mixer which is cruelly missing on the CT-X700/800.
honestly i really2x love this keyboard
We do too! :)
Finally I have mine!! Is great great keyboard!!. As a gig musician , i have to say that this little monster has everything to work , the sound quality is good enough, and the weight. .....well is far away from my motifs and sy99 and korg synths.... My only complaint is that theres no damper polarity switch, so you have to choose the right sustain pedal or make improvements on a dp6 which is my case..... Away from that, this is going to be my new beloved baby synth
Hi thx for your video
Actually I am lost between ct s1 and ct-s400 : Same brand, ~same price, ~same weight,~ same dimension...
Hi there, Im expecting mine to be delivered this week and just wanted to ask what pedal would it be compatible with?
Casio's SP-3 or SP-20 would be great choices. There are also many other pedals with switchable polarity that will work too.
I was thinking about saving up to buy the Casiotone LK-S450 in the future. That and the CT-S400 have to be some of the best Casio keyboards that were released this year. The fact that the LK series has been stuck with the AHL sound source for a very long time can be infuriating and the LK-280 was the last advanced LK keyboard before this year. Can't believe it took 10 years.
Maine Kar Diya hai
Once you get the LK-S450, I would love to see remakes of old Song Banks using S450's sounds
@@vito_keys I actually have one.
OMG, need to buy another CASIO, damn !
What is better ? Ct s1 or ct s400
Is it possible to connect it to the Boss RC 505?
Wow!!! Love it!!!!😃
I’m considering this as a MIDI keyboard. Is it compatible with Kontack Player, Mac, and Cubase Elements 11?
Yes, you can use it with everything you mentioned.
1st to view.. like and comment..I'm planning to get either this CT-400 or CT-S1 😁
Thanks! Hard to choose...get both. :)
@@casiomusicgear just add a lil' more dollars..i can get the PSX 1000..or maybe i should wait 'till Casio releases the price of the new item..PSX 1100 ;)
I know right, i was initially vouching for the ct-s1 red, however since there was no stocks left, I somehow a little bit just a teeny tiny bit reluctantly boughr cts 400 haha. Hope i wont get disappointed
Why casio can not add normal user's equalizer? May be allow user to decide what he want to get, not useless "presets" maked on someone's choice?
So, in shop i can't get enough bass from this speakers with this fixed presets (despite beautiful words "bass reflex...."), so i have to buy Korg which give me full equalization.
where can I get a music stand for this piano?
Great keyboard! Is this series paying attention how to handle key noise issue?
Maine Kar Diya hai
Yes they are. I have the LK-S450 and the keys are great, and they're not made of cheap plastic unlike many of their previous models.
How to upload rhythm to Casio CT-s400?Also, what's the difference between Casio ct-s 400 and ct-s410? Thank you.
I'm waiting the answer for this question too...
400 has white letters, 410 has gold.
My next Investment !
Does the T-Shirt come with it?
Its very nice id looking for this video!
Were you playin MIDI in DAW. Is that what we are hearing, or the two 2.5W speakers? Impressible sounds for such a "cheap" keyboard!
I want this keyboard... really like it...but not available in india.... what can I do
Is this better than ctx800
Can you give me any info on the 5 track recorder ?
Casio has made recording easy and versatile. There is an EASY RECORDER for each keyboard mode, TONE, RHYTHM, and SONG (play along). Plus there is the Multi Track overdubbing recorder for 5 songs stored in the keyboard ( that you can NAME, SAVE and LOAD from flash ). They each have a SYSTEM TRACK plus 5 solo (only the UPPER 1 part ) (overdubbing) tracks with track copying, muting, and basic studio audio mixing of pan and volume. You can have a pre-count/count for recording. In conjunction with the Reverb Chorus and Equalizer, you can pretty easily produce a song recording ready to burn to CD right in the keyboard ( Just record the audio output on a PC as .wav or .mp3 ). The MIDI files you can save to Flash and input into any software Sequencer or DAW, are 16 channel and very sensibly organized to understand and edit if you must. The User Manual has 20 well written interesting pages starting on page 116, describing how to do it all. Try hands on to do any of it you NEED to be able to do.
Can I use headphones?
Hello, how can I do a factory reset on the CT - s500? Please advise. Thank you,
Does anyone know if it has full keyboard chord detection for Pianist ?
Do the keys have the standard size?
please make a 49key one to carry about .please
I’m split between Casio CTS 400 and CTX700
since LK-S450 has AiX as well, is it going have the same German Concert Grand Piano like CT-S400 and CT-S1? I also wanted to play the demo songs like Canon using the Stage Piano but seems not easily possible? I have to upload the MIDI to a computer, convert all notes to a Stage Piano, and then send it back to the Casio?

Hello, thank you very much , I just bought it, but I have a pedal problem: I did everything, put the pedal on "sostenuto" and switched off the U1 U2 and lower part, also in" TONE" but the sustain pedal does still not work after keys played , I have a small hand, and am used and need to use the pedal, what am I doing wrong please? thank you very much for your help
Cool ont retrouve des son de ct-x 700 et x3000
Can I plug this into a mixer/PA
I've plugged mine into my studio mixer, a Behringer USB converter, and Active Speakers PC and Aux inputs, without problems, so LINE, AUX, PC inputs all good. Must be some similar input on any PA to plug into.
Hi Casio! I just picked up the CT-S410! Me and the person at the music shop couldn't figure out the difference between the 410 and the 400. I'm getting different answers from different websites would you mind helping me?
So far . . . nothing.
400 has white lettering, 410 has gold.
Does this keyboard have the ability to loop a recording?
Is there distorted guitar effect?
Hi. Thx for this video. Is the screen blue or purple? Sometimes I have the feeling that it is blue( 0'37) and some other time purple( 1'18) . Which color is it? Thx, regards.
It is blue, the camera angle does change the appearance of the color of the screen.
Is it compatible with Windows 11?
Ct s400 can read midi song from usb flash drive?
Yes it indeed can.
How can I record a track? I would like to see more details
Does anyone know how to connect this to a macbook pro with a cable? I just bought one the other day and can't get it to work
Can I use it as a Midi Controller?
What's the difference between this and the CT-S410? Google returns nothing but questions
I think the difference is the writing on the keyboard on the 410 the writing is gold & the 400 is plan silver they have the 410 at my local guitar center that I plan on getting really soon hopefully 🙏
@@alexanderwilliams1731 YES! Get It. It's surprised me so much! The quality is fantastic. Those velocity switched bends in a couple of the A. guitars & the finger/slap bass velocity switching is a very professional option for this price range.
Can you change the reverb on the sounds?
To record audio to a audio interface would it work with a cable to connect to the headphone output with 1/8 inch connection to 2 x 1/4 inch?
Can I use this to control other hardware synths via midi or does it only connect to daws and iphone/ipad?
Hi, when's this keyboard gonna launch in India?
This the Casio USA channel, I'm sorry we don't know. Contact your local dealer.
Are pianos on cts400 the same as the cts1?
Very similar. The CT-S1 has a few piano tones that are unique.
Have AiX motor sound?
Yes it has AiX Sound Source
How do I set up my iPhone to it
Does cts 400 can Transpos the notes?
Is there a way to record the audio from the ST-400 directly into interface?
From the headphone audio output - that is the way the audio was recorded for this video.
are you family member, or relative of Mark Hamil ?
Can I use the USB port for MIDI instead of the Micro USB port?
No, Micro USB is for MIDI, the other port is for a storage device or the optional Bluetooth Audio/MIDI adapter.
Hi Casio,
Is it available in India ??
This the Casio USA channel, I'm sorry we don't know. Contact your local dealer.
Please price of keyboard
229.99 USD
does the CTs 400 have TRANSPOSE on board to change key?
you can transpose until one octave down or up
Yes you can change octaves or transpose easily. You can even customize the main menu screen to have it easily accessible.
It's been almost a year since the ct-s400 came out on the market. He has not come to Turkey yet. There are no vendors in Turkey. I also searched on the internet and couldn't find it on any shopping site.. please tell casio. send me one. Or can you gift it to me?..
wish it wasn't overpriced on europe, instead of 229/225€ it cost usually 245 :/
does it have 5 pin midi
Maine Kar Diya hai
No, it has micro USB instead.
When you split, it is possible to configure each part with the same notes? and can you balance the volume of each part? Thank you for the video.
Yes
@@SilverJohnes How you do it?
How do you connect the CT S400 to the computer ???
You will need a micro USB cable to plug into the USB to Host. You can use a USB 2.0 A-Male to Micro-B cable.
@@Mr.Face222 And it will allow me to record the sound from the CT S400? , or the Casio will work as a midi controller and I will need some VTS ?
@@ortizcruzjoseeduardo9148 You can use it as a MIDI controller.
