- EDIT: This will most probably be my one and only 8-string video, as I've now sold it!
ORIGINAL COMMENT: I've had my 8-string for about 4-5 months now but have only just worked out which song I wanted to cover with it. For those interested, it's a custom Agile 8-string and the specs are:
Body wood - ash
Scale length - 30"
Neck wood - 5-piece maple/walnut
Neck type - bolt-on
Frets - 27
Fretboard wood - ebony
Radius - 16"
Width at nut - 2.25"
Pups - Agile passives
Hardware - black (two volumes, graphite nut, hipshot bridge)
But yeah, love this tune and am fairly happy with the video bar the occasional bit of sloppiness!
My (incomplete) tab: www.mediafire.c...
This video is what got me into ATB and djent
xD that poke at 2:43
This is one of the tightest cover i've seen of all cover videos, not just for this song. Great job
Just as beautiful as the original.
@Fredbaty That's true. I'm only asking because the Douglas 7-strings are mostly under $200 before shipping.
the best cover on this song is this one
this is probably the best kind of cover i have ever seen
do more please
@Fredbaty thanks for the response, so i have my line 6 stack, it just so happens that i LOVE the sound that comes out of it when i plug in my pod, i assume i could just run another cable out of the pod into my interface then into the computer? i have the usb for it and everything.
heavy, groovy, melodic and emotional sick ass song
AWESOME job man! you got the syncopations PERFECT around 1:40 that part to me is the hardest as there is virtually no pattern. Cool effects too! Keep rockin with that sick lookin guitar man I want that thing. Monster tone too. Definitely best ATB cover ive seen on youtube.
This is one of the most amazing things ever. sooo creative and awesome guitar work. ATB would be proud.
That tone is beastly.
Fuckin' genius man.
you did an ace job on one of my favorite ATB songs.
I'm glad you used the first version and not the re-release version of this song.
bad ass!! u sound amazing dude i love the audio quality. this is my favorite of all songs by after the burial!
Ok...Tone sounds great.
3 things:
What wood:
What pickups:
and what tone on the amp:
Nicely done man excellent tone and amazing editing well done
You freakin rock dude! the part with the flute, LOL! ^^
That guitar sounds absolutely beautiful ❤️✌️
well, first of all, this is an amaaazing cover. you did a wonderful job!
and that part with the little flute or whatever that is is hilarious. haha.
What a beautiful guitar. Sounds awesome man. Bravo!
Fred's Humble Smile at 2:56. I love that part too!!
@Fredbaty I'm the bassist in the band of the guy who you sold this guitar to...and I have to say that it's a bonecrusher of a great instrument! Thank you for the opportunity to try it! :D And keep up the amazing acoustic stuff!
And for maybe the 8th time - great cover!
Cheers from Bulgaria!
awesome cover and awesome tone!
quality!!!

Fretboard wood - ebony

Coming back to this years later. Still good.
Badass dude! The editing is perfect!!
I like it dude. Well done. As laid back as it is, this is one of my favorite ATB songs. It just gives me happy thoughts. Keep it up. :)
Awesome sound , one of the best 8 string I've ever heard ;)
The bend in the breakdown is on the first fret, and it's basically a pre-bend. Other than that awesome job dude. Did you record each part on a different day or something? haha
@Fredbaty Looks very simular to the new 8 string tosin from aal is playing. his is semi cut away but its got that same beautiful wood finish
Only gripe I have about this cover is the ending bends are pre-bent and let down (a la "Walk") instead of bent up...otherwise, absolutely solid cover of one of my favorite songs.
I'm looking to buy this guitar but, instead, the model with Floyd Rose. What gauge strings are you using?
I was going to do .11-.68 with a B-standard tuning with the extra A. (BEADGBEA)
Great playing too! I love your originals as well.
impressive man. especially with the solo! nice! keep it up dude
I can't wait to pick up an Intrepid 8. I'm looking to fool around with some extended range Jazz and Metal.
Once again, amazing cover.
lmao the flute thing made me lol pretty hard. wtf is the blue thing on your guitar?is it a pinwheel? is it a capo? is it a gift bow? i cant figure it out.
was stoked for the recorder solo
Nice job dude! I am planning on buying an agile 7 string, or maybe 8, so it is nice to see that sort of stuff :)
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO DOPE
One of the most groovin songs ever created.
wondering what tuning are you using...
it gets pretty extreme, it's one whole octave added if u drop the 8th, no more bassist needed ... just lovely 8strings XD
This is epic. Great job!
oh my god the flute. I love it
I actually like this more than the Actual song.
So good!
@Fredbaty question about the pod, i have a pocket pod, could i use that into ableton live by chance? if you could tell me how you even do it with a pod thatd be really helpful.
bro seriously? Only 88k? I watched this shit such a long time ago, it's amazing. this sucks to see. the video is better than the views say it is
many thanks for this, in my opinion, beautiful cover!
@Fredbaty Your 8 string looks very simular to the one Tosin from AAL is playing. his is semi cut away but it has that same beautiful wood finish
you deserve triple views... I wish this genre of music was more popular lol
love how you have a chris broderic look as if to say 'yeah ill keep a straight face cause i know im badass but ill nod slightly because i fucking enjoy being so badass!' hahaha great cover of an epic song!
You did a great job, killed it!
i watch this shit religiously, amazing cover man.
Amazing.
this is "prolly" one of the coolest covers ive seen. you did such a beast ass job on it. what editing software did you use to get them to sync up so well????
hey good cover and good job. i would like to ask why did you sell the agile 8-string guitar.
@Fredbaty thanks dude your a life saver.
Nice! All guitar parts!
AMAAAAAZING JOB MAN!!!!
municipal waste ftw!
awesome playing, and BEAUTIFUL guitar
That's a nice looking guitar man is the body of that guitar smaller than the Intrepid style?
My only advice would be, during the break down, its a pre-bend release rather than just a bend. sick as video though :D, favorite song ever!
incredible cover, very VERY nice. 5 stars.
nice guitar, uber nice cover,i got the Ibanez 8 string RG a year ago,i gotta say 8 is certainly more interesting than 6 or even 7
Hahahaha. Well I just bend on the first fret, it sounds right to me. The transition is right though. I noticed a lot of people got that part wrong. They would just keep jammin the first fret when its open.
Crazy solo at the end, no problem i got this.
did you find the 30" scale easy to get used to? i'm probably getting the 28" just cause 30 might be overkill lol.. i won't really know til i try one though.
@Fredbaty So that's just a half step down from normal 8-string tuning right? I can't wait to get mine.
the way you put this vid together is fucken awesome bro do more
12 dislikes?
12 people that were amazingly jealous of this guys skill?
I think so.
hey great video, nicly done. that funny part made me laugh, what video editing program did you use
i want 2 get 1 too but there is online that online shop that sells em and they dont ship 1 guitar overseas :(
AMAZING man
Nice work dude! What was the recorder about ? ahaha I swear after you got up it looked like someones was taking loads of pictures. Anyway, really awesome cover :)
Why did you sell the 8 string? Im thinking about buying a jackson soloist sls3 or an ESP 8 string. Did you find 8 string to problematic? not useful or whats up? Your opinion may be the deciding factor on what i buy, so let me know pleasse!
hey man you should post a cover of a vicious reforming of features or ometh
WAIT.
You're 'Fred' from Sevenstring aren't you? I saw your guitar when you posted that thread a while back. I've been looking into grabbing an 8, but I really didn't want to stoop to a Schecter, since I've never really enjoyed their products. What's your overall impression of the Agile? I'm also avoiding blowing up my bank account with an Ibanez . :/
Great cover & nice 8string man!
Hope you get back into this genre of music
I love the epic bend at 1:55 :D
its in f#, but where can i purchase the agile interceptor, im looking so hard for one and cant find them anywhere
great stuff... keep up the good work!
Hi Fred, very cute guitar.
On a 8 strings which strings are added in opposition of a classical 6 strings ?
Awesome cover, one very slight problem is that you aren't getting the 'djents' i.e the palm mutes in the verse exactly right. You're muting the entire note, but you're supposed to play it open then immediately mute it. Still, that's a very minor nitpick and most people don't even realize the difference. 5 stars, keep being awesome!
Nice! The flute thing was hilarious, haha.
I know a bunch of people have probably asked already, but what the hell are those things tuned to?
Great job man.
@dantendo1212 haha yeah but you could tell he felt the groove by the quick grin he had.
That cover was ridiculously clean and accurate. You really need to start writing your own music. Seriously, even if you can't find great players to work with you should just program some drums and release a solo album like tosin abasi did with animals as leaders, or chimp spanner, or keith merrow, or cloudkicker, or like Bulb used to do, etc..
sick cover man! I love how you're wearing a different tshirt in each clip lol, it took me like 2mins in to notice
that sucks that you sold the 8 string, you were immaculate at it, you could've made it far with those skills you got there boyo
You blew my mind
Nice tone.
You're entirely awesome!
Your videos are genius. Where abouts in london are you from?
@Fredbaty pod -> amp -> Comp. my only issue is quality. is it possible to run it pod -> amp -> interface -> computer? or is the pod basically an interface.
great job man
Love the flute man at 2:33 lol
excelent cover. how long have you been playing?
haha love the smile at 2:57 ur like "fuck yeah... :)"
Just so you all know...THE NEW ALBUM IS OUT!
I wanted to hear the whistle
fucking ACE!
i love the rhythm guitar in the beginning
how do you get this tone out of your guitar?
i mean, which pickup, which settings on the amp? bass, mid, trebble, gain?
Lol great cover wat do u edit with
How much did that beautiful guitar of yours cost?
