  • Today and Bruce changed out the 1970's thermostat in my house with Honeywell Home Day Programmable Thermostat. This upgrade was extremely simple in my house. After a few months of use it turns out to be a piece of junk. I removed it and replace it.

*Works great: **Fastly.Cool** and Warming environment perfectly controlled. I use 3 in different grow tents. It’s nice to see from your phone how your tent temps are. Does High and Low and records data.*

Thank you for the heat pump video. I first moved the lever to heat pump, then inserted 2 AAA Batteries, so that I would not forget when I got the wiring completed.

This is junk, I have it. We don't want to set a schedule . Very difficult to manually use it ! I am throwing this in the trash ! We are tired of being cold and trying to make the heat come on without screwing with all these fields trying to set it to manually come on !

I agree. what worries me is just about all new hot water heaters use honeywell gas control valves. just about ALL brands use it. if you look up reviews of the hot water heater a lot of them are about the gas control valve not working right.
my thermostat will often kick on then as the furnace is warming up before the blower starts the thermostat turns it back off. it repeats this sometimes for 10 times. and sometimes wont work right for 30 mins or more. it does it on AC setting too.

Mine doesn't kick on as quick as your unit did.
I'm thinking it has a delay and hopefully it will in minutes, And about a few minutes it's running and you helped.
Just don't have the instant start as you showed made me think I did something wrong

You can change the F/C temperature setting by going into Advanced Installation settings. Listed in the Owners manual, you do this by pressing and holding both the up and down arrows at the same time for 5 seconds. The big number on the left is the "Function" number, the little number on the right is the "Setting" number. If you want to change this, you will navigate to Function 14, and change the setting from 0 (F) to 1 (C). Likewise, with the 12/24 hour clock display you will navigate to Function 20, and change the Setting from 0 (12) to 1 (24). Cheers!

UPDATE: Upon entering into the Advanced Installation mode, in order to navigate to the next Function, you will press and hold both the up and down arrows at the same time for 1 second. You may need to repeat this multiple times to get to your desired Function. Once you're desired Function/Settings have been set, you will want to press the Run button to store them.

Hi, how do you update your current time before setting a schedule for each day? It’s 7:15 PM East time zone and the thermostat shows it’s 1:30 AM.
    Thank you

Press the Set button once, and you will be in the mode for setting the current time. He reviews this beginning at the 4 minute 30 second time in the video. Before you press the Set button a second time to move on to the Day of the week, you will set the time by using the up/down arrows to get to the current time. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Not a very good video for simple setting of thermostat to Heat or A/C. The very basics is missing on how to set it "non-programmable" firstly, and then do the programming for those who work outside the home etc. Therefore seniors would suffer from this video explanation, because it assumes that EVERYONE needs to program when seniors spend 90% of their time home.
