Not anymore. 4.4 has covered this and hacking only voids warranties. I know from experience. Sent in my V2’s and because I rooted them last year they sent them back with a “sorry but your goggles have been tampered with” “we won’t support this hardware any further”
I rooted mine and have all this and more including RSSI-dbm, all warnings and power levels my elrs is set or switching to. Think I will wait till 4.5 as there is nothing in 4.4 that concerns me.
Hey buddy I am rooted.. Can give me some tips?! I have it set up.. disabled in receiver tab, Im getting it in my osd... I have linq quality and rssi dmb checked.. all rssi only UNchecked as well as on the alarms.. But I get rssi dbm warning the entire time I fly... Im getting like -79 - -90... But the only alarm I can adjust is rssi... and it wont go -..!
@@stickboyfpv4742 Check your power setting and what Hz the rx is locked to. I am setting mine at 50Hz and 500mw where Im flying over water or a long distance where recovery is impossible. Im also using a diversity rx in these situations. For regular freestyle locations up to 500mts away I would go something like 250Hz and 250mw and diversity rx would be unnecessary. These settings make all the difference. Also I dont get alarms, maybe Ive turned it off because its distracting, I do watch the numbers tho and at 50Hz -90 is still ok but I would be a long way out to see it this high.
@Kwad dawK Hey thank you for the response my friend! I believe I got er going now! I turned off and rssi... Have just dbm and lq now... dissabled all rssi alarms... Shes beautiful now!!🤗 Thanks again! P.S. I am on dynamic and not locked at 50.. you think locking at 50 would be ideal? At least I dont think.. Lm look and Ill get back😆!
Thanks for the vid. I had BF 4.3, used the DJI Goggles 2 and got the display via the YT video "DJI Goggles 2 + Vista - MSP DisplayPort Setup & Test Flight" - it worked. Once I updated to BF 4.4 it was gone. And I can't get it back because DisplayPort_msp_serial is no longer supported. So now I have no BF OSD at all, only the DJI one without Sats etc. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
I think that you need to configure this in the "ports" tab as well. this guide should give you the info: oscarliang.com/betaflight-4-4/#HD-OSD-Config-In-Ports-Tab
Yep, that is the other option here. I made this video for those that dont want to start doing the whole rooting but still would like to get the LQ and warnings (the only 2 missing important items from DJIs own OSD implementation in my opinion). Full OSD with HD fonts is clearly a more "full featured" option but not everyone needs/wants that.
I have follower the tutorial but i have question. After place the craftname on my OSD, the LQ information is working but my default "warning message" write the LQ reception now and not the warning. Did you have an issue ? Thanks :)
@@andreas-ohman yes but in your video when you see the OSD configuration, you have the LQ in the top left of the screen and on the botom you have "LOW VOLTAGE" and when you start the preview you don't have the same.
@@andreas-ohman - Is *msp_craftname_hack* necessary inside the Custom Defines when flashing the firmware? I see it on the screen during the procedure, but in your video description it is not mentioned, you only mentioned *osd_craftname_msgs*
Yes indeed. The screenshot from the Betaflight Configurator has the "warning messages" in the bottom middle but those are the exact ones that the DJI OSD will not show. They will instead show up in the top left alternating between the warnings and the LQ.
No, I dont know. I dont have the Goggles 2 myself. I’m guessing that tje O3 Air unit will do the full Betaflight OSD on the gogles 2 so you would not neet tjis procedure unless you have a Caddx Vista
@@andreas-ohman Thank you very much for answering, the difficulty is in the size of the fonts in the osd, they are very large and are completely out of line with what appears in Betaflight, do you know how to solve this?

Rooting is still the way ). Can't beat full osd support.

It would be nice to remove the LQ 0. I don't use crossfire. I use DJI remote.

No need for this on the 03 because it supports full betaflight osd. There’s a good video on this on mangorilla channel
