Hello. I'm new, this is my first pair of glasses. I couldn't turn on OSD for half a year until I watched this video. Unbelievable. I already took a picture even to sell the hell out of these glasses. Thank You.
Sam Avella, done! Video was just released on how I installed the JST plug onto the Vista. I also attributed the video to your comment. Hope that's ok. 👍
My dji goggles v2 are also already in fcc mode. Allowing me to change from 25mbps to 50mbps. The display is twice as clear. Love it. Next going to add 1000 and 1200mw. 700 is the highest.
hello, nxp200, may i ask a question, i saw the osd on the right bottom side ,the RX signal (controller) cant activate, i have the same problem ,is it vista not support? thank u
This depends on the flight controller. Some of them have plug and play connectors for the Caddx Vista and some require direct solder. In my case, I direct soldered to the flight controller the VBAT, GND, RX and TX wires.
Hi NXP! Fantastic video, really helped me a lot. I have one question though… after following this process everything worked perfect with the osd but when I went to fly today it was stuck in limp/low power mode. I assume this is something to do with the msp settings?? Have you encountered this before? Thanks!!
Hmm.. haven't had this happen before. Maybe you can try turning "Settings -> Control -> Auto Low-Power State of Air Unit" to "OFF"? That's how I fly, because if I crash and have to disarm, resulting in low power mode kicking in, I can't see the video to attempt turtle mode or locate where the quad ended up so I can search for it (as fast as I can before it overheats!). If that mode works, but you still want to have that option enabled, there might be some issue with the air unit not receiving the "arm" command from the flight controller. To which I'm not actually sure how to diagnose, sorry. If I get a chance anytime soon, I'll try to test it out on my system and let you know.
Hmm. Haven't seen that happen before. I would try another vtx (either digital or analog to see if the OSD chip is damaged). Or, check the Tx/Rx wires aren't getting shorted somehow after arming and flying around.
Hey ona separate note, before goggles 2 I had the naco.txt file on my vista, now with goggles 2, do I have to do anything to still have the extra video transmission power of 700w. IF so a video would be helpful. I am nervous about flashing my fc to 4.3.2 which is the last version available for the babyhawk 2 HD, does OSD work on goggles 2 at 4.3.2?
With the Goggles 2, you'll need to put an empty file named ham_cfg_support (no extension) onto a MicroSD card and insert it into the Goggles 2 before powering up. Then turn it on. This will put your Goggles into FCC mode. To check if this worked, go into Settings -> Transmission -> Channel Mode and switch it to Manual Mode. When you check the 40MHz bandwidth, you'll see 3 channels instead of 1. In terms of the OSD, it should work on BF 4.3.2. I have this video showing the instructions on how to set it up ua-cam.com/video/gQFcvDB5RC4/v-deo.html
I still dont have full use of osd. No GPS distance traveled or distance from home. I have altitude on display but gps speed only show in disarm mode after flight. I wonder if its because im using integra goggles not goggles 2.
The goggles shouldn't be the issue here. I don't have much experience in using GPS on my quads, but it may be configuration on Betaflight to show the correct numbers during ARM mode. Perhaps check you're on the correct OSD profile before flight
In the OSD settings in Betaflight, there is the option to turn on HD. Try that. I've noticed that sometimes that setting is buggy. So try turning it back to SD and then HD again.
I've tried to replicate this issue with BF4.5 but can't seem to see any issues with the size of OSD in HD mode. The only other thing I can think of is that there's an option inside the goggles 2 called "Settings - Display - Canvas Mode". There's SD and HD options. Select HD.
@@nxp200 I installed firmware 01.03.0000 on goggles..that was the problem. I couldnt choose canvas mode on goggles. Problem solved when i installed newest firmware on goggles
The carbon frame is an ImpulseRC Micro Apex 3 inch. The black whoop guards is my own design. I'll add the 3D STL to the video description soon for you to download if you wish.
Hi, Sorry to bother you again. I forgot to ask you what fonts you used for your OSD? I’ve just setup my iFlight A65 that has a Caddx Vista with the Goggles 2 and the Fonts appear much larger than yours. Thanks.
No need to be sorry. Happy to try and help. The font is default after flashing Betaflight. In Betaflight Configurator OSD page, the front drop-down shows "font default" on mine.
www.printables.com/model/652970-impulserc-micro-apex-3-whoop-guard Edit: I forgot that this was intended to be used with the SwitchBlock I designed and the standard original camera mounting on the frame is not supported! Apologies for the mix up! I have redesigned it to allow for standard camera mounting and will print a test version before uploading the STL (to make sure it all fits dimensionally etc)
I just realised I designed this with my SwitchBlock, which means the standard FPV camera mounting is not supported. I'll remix to fix this and upload the new design. Apologies for this.
I haven't done this myself yet, but you'll need to root the V2 goggles and install wtf.os software to get the OSD to work. It's different instructions than in this video. Joshua Bardwell does great instructions on how to do this.
@@dugy40 nice! I don't know what triggers it to automatically set it. I've tried numerous things but it's never done it for me automatically. Unsure if it's a BF 4.4 vs 4.4.1 difference 🤷🏻♂️ Glad it was sorted for you👍
Hello, I’ve managed to update the goggles 2 Vista unit and get everything to bind and show video but I cannot for the life of me get the DJI remote control 2 to work.. it just doesn’t show up in beta flight.. any help would greatly be appreciated!

Just so helpful as it’s not a task we perform often 😅
