    try using whatever control link your using try getting a BF preset, I use elrs 250hz it really helps smooth things out if your have problems.

      I'm using 150 Hz, but I thought deadband ( that I talk about at 00:29:20 ) would smooth any issues out with that. My goal is to actually take this thing long range (10 km+) so I want to use the lower packet rates. I did think about trying higher packet rates if I still can't figure it out. I have some good days with low wind coming up, I will be doing a lot of tests flights starting tomorrow. Can I ask, what do you know about the BF presets that are labelled by the ELRS settings? I don't want it to muck with my filter or PID tune settings, but I wouldn't be adverse to trying more RC smoothing. I actually like RC smoothing on my super powerful 4" build. Honestly, I don't like using presets on anything and much like my photography I would rather change each setting one by one as I understand fully what it is doing. Maybe I will take a look at the "ELRS" presets and see if they present the data in a text file that I can understand, rather than just trying to fly them haha.

      Update: I looked at this- api.betaflight.com/firmware-presets/presets/4.3/rc_link/elrs_150hz.txt and it gave me some really good ideas to try, thank you. I also looked at the 250 Hz version. The only parts I don't fully understand or want to try immediately are the feed forward settings. Other than that, it is very interesting what they are doing. It then gave me inspiration go dive deeper into my blackbox logs and look at the radio link (RC Command?) and see how smooth the signal is, and hopefully I could see it after processing as well. I know on this particular flight in the video I was smooth as butter on the sticks, smoother than I have ever been because I was trying on purpose. So if there is still jank I need to polish it out in software lol

      @@jr_fpv3418 Second update. I applied the 150 Hz preset and it made no difference. For some reason my post-smoothing traces still have the same stair stepped pattern, so I wonder if I am out of CPU cycles. However the noise on the gyros and eventually in the D term is the same. Meh. I did appreciate going down the rabbit hole tho!

    Increase your motor pwm to 48Khz, and use fixed tilt tpu mount for your camera like on racing quad, thank you

      @mjodr  Місяць тому

      I've tried bluejay 48 khz on my other quads and I hate it. My motor idle percentage became way too high and I had no throttle resolution. I don't know how it will react with big motors, but I hesitate to try it.
      My plan is to make a fixed camera mount once I decide on a camera angle. However, it flew like this WITHOUT the Caddx Walnut camera mounted also. So it's not the camera, I don't think. Also, TPU doesn't allow the front 4 bolts of the top plate to be torqued down tight unless I come up with a very clever design. I'm not done with the camera mount, but first I am going to work on the filters. Next few flights will be without camera mounted while I tune it.

      Update: My mistake. I was already on 48 kHz, I just checked. My comments were actually about when I tried 96 kHz.

      @@mjodr are they locked to 48khz, I meant both pwm min and max

      @mjodr  Місяць тому

      @@solataFPV It's not a dynamic pwm, 48 kHz only. I just flashed the newest version of bluejay and I'm going to test it today. I was on 0.19 and there might have been issues with it. Now on 0.21. It's a long shot, but hey I have to try. Next up is messing with the factory PID tune, because I have tried everything else.

    Print some inserts with a hard material asa. Didnt watch the whole video btw.

      @mjodr  Місяць тому

      That's a really good idea and one option I keep thinking about. I've only made one hybrid print with TPU and ASA, and it works really good for it's application. Just as a side note, I have been flying it in zero wind without the Walnut mounted and it still has the wobble sometimes, so I don't think it has anything to do with the camera or the mount. I'm still trying to tune it. The blackbox logs don't look great.

    Something aint right with that quad.

      @@Black-ice_fpv Haha! You're telling me! Made a bunch of changes and test flights today. It's smooth, but there's no wind. My next test session is on Sunday on the next windy day. I can still feel a bit of the wobble when I slam the sticks in calm conditions. On my blackbox logs the noise is now less, after my changes, but it's still there.
