- A very Important aspect of 'Bhaav', In this video, I explain two major difficulties of Bansuri Playing, namely Volume Control and Komal Swaras (Half closed notes).

You are so down to earth. I have been playing flute for over a decade and learnt to play it on my own, and never actually had a guru because of my circumstances. But now I feel compelled to learn the nuances and really try to fine tune myself slowly towards a point where I play satisfyingly good enough. Things, doubts that I could not verbally express, are now being cleared by your videos. Had classical vocal training upto Visharad part one. So that really helped with laying down the basics for grasping the concept of ragas. You really helped with the esoteric side of the Bansuri Techniques. You brought a lot of diverse perspectives to things. Funny that I thought I knew it all; typical inflated ego of a young guy, who thinks himself to be a grownup. I have so much to learn. One lifetime would hardly be enough but I have to try. I pay my heartfelt gratitude to you, for bringing these lessons to UA-cam. Thankyou.

I'll say just a couple of things- No. 1 - You are the MOST NATURAL and DOWN TO EARTH artist on UA-cam I've ever seen and am referring to. However, I'll place Pt. Rakesh Chaurasia in a separate bracket when I say that, becoz I believe you Yourself must be respecting him up to the limits.The way you explain things, is incredible. No. 2 - Those who have Disliked any of your video, They are NOTHING More than a Table or a Chair or a Stick or a Stone, So don't give them even a damn of your attention. I'm a Successful Management and I know you meet many people who have this disqualification By Birth. I've started playing flute just a month ago, and I can promise you even if I didn't, I would be watching your lessons [and more than that watching YOU alone] with the same love and interest. I would be grateful if I can ever talk to you. Love from Aligarh...!!!

Aaj ka generation jinme ki art jaise chijo ko sikhne ka patience bahut hi kam hai aur guru gyan ke bina basics se kaafi door hai aise logon ko ye baate samjhna thoda mushkil hai aur aise logo ne is videos ko dislike diya hoga. Apke bolne me jo imandaari hai jo depths hai jo acknowledges hai jo simplicity wo itna jyaada impressive hai aur usefull hai ki in videos ko dislikes karne ka koi karan hi nahi banta. Please Aap dislikes ko ignore kare. As a musician mai aapki feelings ko bahut achhe se samjh sakta hu. Ap dislikes pe bilkul dhyan na de. God bless you always. No daubt the painting on wall is amazing.

Pehle Shri HariJi aur dusre Vivek sonar ji....3rd ap ho...

Ashwin ji Again invaluable tips - I have been playing Koma dha and re like that but never thought why had to move down to get the volume up - Realise now the mechanism, that I am blowing harder and hence to keep the pitch naturally the flute goes inwards - Feels like a Eureka moment . thank you for explaining this!

Thanks sir, yesterday only I was practicing komal re for almost an hour to know its exact place with respect to Tanpura, couldnt get it but will keep on trying. But yes volume was missing will try this technique today, hopefully it will work and help.

I have been practicing flute without a guru since I was at 12 year age now an ex-serviceman. No knowledge of raaga but play filmi songs without any knowledge of notations and raaga.
