Aap ki u tube ki serise ka ye video mene 1st dekha ..mere pas shabd nahi k me kya kahu.. ab me sare episodes sununga dhyan se dekhunga.. aap gyan k sagar ho kuch bunde me jarur nikalunga... the best allap teaching video.. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Binge watching all of your series in order to gain maximum knowledge before I start my venture in Raags, Absolutely spellbounded by your knowledge ❤️ Please accept by sincere gratitude Ashvin ji🙏🏻
Most difficult task is to teach someone how to think. Beautifully explained. The feminine and masculine Ga explanation is sublime. When one forgets 'i', the Godly 'I' shines through. Am sure your recital at Albert Hall did that. Do share clips if possible. 'Basanti' comment was hilarious.
That seriously felt like a one to one conversion, As if you were sitting in front of me and talking to me. Felt very connected. Watched the whole video. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us , not just of flute , but the whole thing. Nandri Anna :)

I have always been fascinated with the beauty of alaap and raga. I am trying to learn bansuri to accompany the kirtan and bhajan we offer to God at my temple, and this video has made so much sense on so many levels. I appreciate what you have explained here, thank you so much. Hare Krishna
Sir aap k leye dhanyavaad jaise shabd bhout chote aalap ka jo concept aap se mela hi aaj tk khe se nhe mela ..es concept ki sun k aalap asaan lgne lga hi ..👏👏👏👏aap ko kote kote parnam
Fantastic approach towards music-love this series- you make music much more accessible and you are unlike many experts who are intimidating and make music seem so difficult and beyond the reach of people. Thank you; keep up the great work.
You are simply superb and great .. I feel that I am into the third day of Pune workshop and intensely hearing every word you speak and every note you present ... I am so very happy to be associated with you !! Thank you ......
Wow ! Thank you ashwin bhai for sharing this beutiful perspective of alaap and बढत of raag . your teaching techniques are just extraordinary. Lots of love and music !
I am short of words to describe the depth of the knowledge you have shared and the way you have explained it........though I am just a beginner and only recreational player/ learner but thanks a a lot for sharing such deep insights
Very informative video Sir. I'm learning flute from an year and so. 2 days before I was struggling with blowing and swaras were not coming properly. My guruji suggested me to sit straight, I tried and it worked like a charm. Also thank you very much to take time from your schedule and making such valuable videos. With such information many people can learn indian classical music even at remote locations, as good faculties are available at very few palaces. Please keep spreading knowledge.
Aapki baat maankar main shahar aa gaya hun...aur guruji ki talash kr chuka hun...ab isi tarah aapki baaton par amal karke achha seekhta jaaunga...ashirwad banaye rakhein🙏😌
Sir...aapne sirf Alap ka process hi nahi Balki riyaaz karne ka Sahi process samjhaya hai. Sabse important baat thi ki riyaaz ki samay WhatsApp na karein! 😂 Balki 100% Sahi seekh de aapne. God bless you!
I very rarely subscribe to any channel and I did for this one. I think Ashwin has a modern take on playing classical. He is an amazing story teller. Its an awesome comparison he found between meeting new people and alaap. I've heard that same gist a million times from other pandits before but no one ever said it in a way that sticks and more importantly a method that can be actually applied easily! kudos. Now that I praised you enough, a real question: what can you bring to this art that we haven't seen before? How do we upgrade this timeless classical to a classical+ if you will? I am not talking about the tacky fusion stuff, throw in some drums and call it a day, no! But talking abt a real reform and a point of view. A philosophical shift. I get a lot of debate on this from other classical fans, they are adamant that classical is timeless and not to be messed with. I appreciate that but I also think they are too lazy to see beyond what they accepted to be true. I think a flavor of it could be tailored to modernism and produce real inspiration that can be subscribed to by millions. The real qn is if an artist (someone like you perhaps) will brave their career on it? :) Like vincent van gough did for impressionism and more locally like RDBurman and AR rehman did for movie scores. Story telling is the biggest part of any change and you have that gift.
Ashwin ji, your each VDO clip touches different aspects of musical field with easy grasping. I have attended your Flute workshop in Pune on 24&25 August'19 which every participant found it immensely useful. I am passionate playing flute without" Guru" some light music & Film songs. Do not want to miss any of your clips. Thanks for taking utmost care of music lovers. May God bless U.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful video. I love this video. Your explanation of why we do what we do is invaluable. I have noticed that other youtube videos, however good they are, tells what to do and does not explain why we need to do that way. Your explanation of why and how to introduce ragas in relation to the introduction of characters in TV serial makes it very easy to understand and internalize one of the important aspects of Raga. As usual, this is a GREAT instructional video. Please keep on teaching us and spreading your knowledge. Thank you so very much. God bless you and stay Blessed!!
Ashhhhhhwiiiiiin, you da Bossssssssssssssss! Simply WOW!! I have seen numerous UA-cam videos on flute teaching but you are numero Uno! Other Folks will simply teach to take the notes from raag and make duos, triplets, etc and play them like alankars. But no one has explained it like YOU. Musical notes appearing on a stage like actors! and then give them attitude/emotions!!! That anology is simply mind blowing.....💥😇😇 DO YOU KNOW HOW COOL YOU ARE?!
@@ashwinflute You know Ashwin, the tree full of fruits is always bent over with gratitude. The one without any stands tall. Your genius lies in not knowing how great you are while you stand bent in gratitude. 😇
this is some serious explanation. 'analogy'... a simple way often missed by contemporary teachers. indic masters (across specialities) always use analogy. here he uses the tv serial episode analogy, which is so dumbed down for a beginner's mental model - like mine. thanks a lot 🙏
Very well explained sir , it's always a pleasure watching your videos.. the style and feel u have is unique...I could relate your said words with my Guruji PT Deepak Ram ji , That balance music creates and the peace and enjoyment one feels by playing it. Literally music is lifestyle.🙏 Looking forward for more videos sir ❤️🙏
beautiful explanation in such simple terms ashwin ji.....following your leads diligently....and making discernible progress 😊🙏🙏🙏🙏 actually I am a guitar player and play various styles and this lead has given me an idea to improve my blues playing also
Aapke playing ka Deewana to mai pahle se tha tamanna bhi thi kash Sir kuchh batate aur aaj aapse sikhne mil raha hai. Aap pahle well known flutist hai jo apna amulya waqt hume de rahe hai Ishwar se yahi aasha hai ki wah aapko sari khushiyaan de.
You have highlighted the essence required for thinking, feeling, emoting and rendering aalap! Just a wonderful, thanks for sharing! I still feel there should be another video on this subject (Part 2). Something felt incomplete, can't say what though.
Sad that I had started very late in my life to learn this piece of beautiful instrument. So much to learn and so little time..... Your explanations are Awesome....
Thank you bhai. I am motivated to try alaap with the approach you mentioned. I loved the example you can about sa re ga.…….and playing various alternatives with just sub-set of notes. Very nice simile with character introduction in a serial and alaap. Loved it. May god bless you.
Itne sare hamare najdik mein hamare sath jo ghat ta hai wohi sab examples deke itna bada bishoy ko kitna easy kardiye aap ne.. Bahut bahut sukriya aaur pranam. Kindly up load or give any link to watch your recent devine feeling programs Sir.
Very well explained. I fail to understand why people hit the unlike button? I guess they are too jealous. Yaman was a good choice . Thank you. #fluteandflutist
Listened to the beautiful Yaman you presented in a recent video few days back. Very difficult for me to render the embellishments even the basic ones. Excellent tutorial.
Thank you so much sir for this video! Can you please make a video on tone aswell? How to get a good tone, finding your own tone, the posture, embrochure shape, blowing and everything we should work on to get good tone. Thank you!
You did so nice in youtube for every beginners for appreciation. I hope you will upload more tips for us. Ragaa and semi classical both technics, we want from you. We hope continue this kind of lesson. Salute you bro. Long live. God bless you. #dineshflute

Thank you teacher and for adding English captions. This was the message I needed to hear. Things I wish my first teacher told me.
The thing I like most about you is that you connect music with the real world.
Thank you Guruji 🙏
