I played SRW A and Impact back when I was in University, and it was always cool watching everyone freak out, in a good way, over Amuro Ray coming onto the scene. And just the comraderie among him, Koji, and the Getter Crew, so much fun, I love reliving it every SRW game I play.
Not gonna lie, Amuro ray lived up to its name "White Devil" because he is still able to send fear down unto people whether they may be allies or enemies. It just goes to show how good he is even though he is piloting the Grandpa gundam

I didn't know the DLC would have dialogue for the beginning of the game. I guess I have new stuff to look forward to when I do my expert difficulty run of the game.

The white meteor is supposed to juxtapose the red comet but we all know, that a fascist space regime deemed Amuro as the "white Devil" at the age of 15. And that says more than the devil themed gundams in IBO.

I wonder can the Iron Blooded era Gundam do any real damage to the universal era gundam? Since I know Iron Blooded era's gundam can do nothing on the Cosmic Era gundam due to Cosmic Era gundam having Phase shift armor which negate every physical weaponry use on them and all the weapons used during that era are all solid projectile with no beam.
The uc gundams are also impervious to kinetic and physical weapons, but the difference from the ce era gundams is that the uc ones uses gundarium alloy
@@gungde9419 I don't think UC Gundarium units are impervious per se, but they can take a lot of attacks from physical weapons without too much trouble. The Cosmic Era Phase Shift armour on the other hand does look like it's almost impervious to physical attacks (remembering the Freedom taking a hit from the Raider's rocket-propelled flail while suffering only knockback) as long as the suit can generate enough power to absorb the impact. If I remember correctly (coz I only watched an episode or 2), IBO is set in a future where there has been heavy human presence on Mars for some time, so much so they have terraformed the planet. That could be considerably further into the future than UC, so they may have had some time to perfect the sharpness and sturdiness of their kinetic/physical weapons so that they can do more damage. It may not be as one-sided as one might expect.
@@amuroray.1690 it's mostly just machines with Luna Titanium armor that have high ballistic resistance. Iirc there's not much that can even scratch the stuff below the caliber of bazooka rounds, and even that's more the explosive part of it than the projectile itself.
There's a questiin that this game doesn't answer: What was Tetsuya Tsurugi doing during the One Year War/Hell Uprising? My guess is that he was a mobile suit ace pilot, so good that he was later aske by dr. Kenzo Kabuto to become the pilot of the Great Mazinger.
I mean, probably yeah. But considering this is Amuro, he'd still last a good chunk of time, considering how he was able to hold off Char's Sazabi in a ReGZ. Though, considering the performance of the RX-78, he's probably still not lasting all _that_ long.

Amuro is just that good of a pilot, to the point that several years in the future, an AI copy of him is kicking the ass of several other newtypes. Within UC, the only character coming close to his piloting prowess is Char, and well... Sazabi was a much better machine than the ReGZ on multiple fronts, but Amuro was still able to hold him off. There's Amuro's ability to read attacks before they come on top of that. This _should_ help keep him alive. The following problems would then be... The machine. It's all the machine. The RX-78-2 was old and outdated by the time Zeta Gundam rolled around, arguably even by the end of its own series. It required a bit of an overhaul somewhere mid-0079, because the Gundam was too slow for Amuro. Even then, even though Amuro's piloting skill should be able to even most odds, the Barbatos is a high performance suit capable of matching more modern depictions of mobile suits, the performance gap is just too wide for Amuro to cross, even if the Barbatos couldn't resist the Gundam's beam rifle. The beam saber _should_ be able to ignore the beam resistance, due to how different it is(it's a bunch of plasma held inside of a membrane basically), but I'm pretty sure that even the regular Barbatos is too fast to let that happen. If this were Novel Amuro, who I heard was able to use _exactly_ the RX-78-2 to fight in the novelisation of CCA, then maybe, but definitely not Canon Amuro. Mikazuki wins the fight somewhere around the ballpark of 9/10, with some difficulty. 1/10 Amuro lands a lucky hit with the beam saber on the cockpit. Now, I _could_ be underselling things, I haven't seen enough of UC personally, but this _should_ look about right.
@@aliesterus1.023 I would agree in all honesty, in the end the RX-78-2 would be the biggest thing to actually be a disadvantage to amuro due to the gundam’s age, despite barbatos being centuries old, older that the RX-78-2, with its constant upgrades and the alaya vinyana system with Mika as the pilot made barbatos an absolute powerhouse, while the gundam was insane at first when it first appeared,later on the gundam was surpassed when it comes to how good the mobile suit is, excluding NT-1 Gundam Alex and the RX series including units 4-5 and Murdock, and full armors, units like certain GMs would easily surpass the gundam a while after and into the near final stages of the one year war, so I would say barbatos would more often than not win against him

Calling Amuro a Gary Stu is a stretch. He goes through a lot of shit during OYW. He starts off as a shitty brat and was over reliant on Gundam's superiority at the start of the OYW. Amuro and Bright had a rocky start because Amuro was such a brat. And Amuro came close to dying several times in the OYW because he was not a good soldier at the start. Throughout the series, Amuro's skills improve, his Newtype powers become stronger, and he becomes a mature person. Amuro isn't a Gary Stu because Gary Stus are perfect from the start whereas Amuro's skills were developed throughout the course of a war. And Gary Stus get everything handed to them on a silver platter. Amuro's military rank is extremely low given his accomplishments as the Federation doesn't trust Newtypes.
I love how everyone agrees that Amuro, Koji and Ryoma being old friends is one of the best parts of SRW 30.

They are DLC characters they wouldn't be able to add that much.
It would be different if they return as the main cast in the next game.
Keep in mind IBO's inclusion was dlc and not part of the main story so unless there is a dlc expansion story down the line we can't expect too much.
