  • A Georgia homeowner saw a gunman sneaking down his driveway at night. Whitfield Smith, a U.S. Navy veteran, says he spotted the gunman running across his front lawn around 2 a.m. In pajamas and flip-flops, Smith fired a warning shot which erupted into a shootout between the intruders and homeowner, causing bullets to shatter Smith's car windows. A few minutes later, he emerged from his house fully dressed, wearing sneakers and armed with a bigger rifle. That's when the prowlers fled the scene.

I'm pro 2A for different reasons, but that bad guys will always get guns argument is nonsense. Just look at Europe etc. Bad guys can't get their hands on guns, so they switch to knives. It's incredibly safe to be a cop in England for example and so the police don't even have to carry guns themselves and only special police units have guns. The reality is that in countries without guns, everyone is safer. However, I'm not willing to trade my freedoms for safety.

He walked out like a big man with a big gun and didn't take any cover?!?!?! There was a car right there, He saw the man with a fire arm on his camera. He is lucky to be alive walking out like that. Amateur move, especially from a vet.

He spot the thief taking cover from the gun blazing, and the vet take the chance and walk back to prepare.
Based from video, ill assume the vet only approach with intention to talk it out with the thief and that explain the warning shot.
Little did he know, the thief went defensive because the shock of warning shot, thus start the gun blazing on both party.
And based from that, the vet backing off just like i said before, then be prepared for second approach.
Then why wont he prepared first you might ask?, Well he already spot someone coming with fire arm and bad intention, and i assume he on comfort state on his house that night and didn't expect something like that to happened. So if he didn't straight to do that encounter, his car might stolen or perhaps worse scenario one of family member encounter the danger first, i meant the chance not 0 so. And thus the vet decided to do the encounter immediately.
