SNAPPED PINION SHAFT REPAIR | MASSEY FERGUSON 3075

- In today's video, we are fixing up the 3075 and its pinion shaft that broke on us the last time we were pulling beet. She needs fixing and the plan is to get her fixed, up and working and then hit the beet hard! (weather permitting). Robert is fixing this one for us to save us a bit of time and I'm there to give him a helping hand when needed and also might learn something along the way! We get the front axle off and take a look at the inside of the front dif. We also take a look at a couple of new arrivals that were dropped off.
Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching! G'Luck

Doing that repair to the front axle is something I think nothing of doing in my farm workshop but to see Robert doing it in a farmyard is something else, that young lad has a heart of a lion and better than that he knows exactly what he is doing and just gets on with it, another great video Phil.
Good video Phil nice to se Robert working good mechanic lucky to have Him 👍👍
Wonderful Robert he certainly knows his stuff and so young he’s top of his game.Good luck 🍀
As Robert said, it was the play in the pivots that caused the pinion shaft to shear. Its done well to get to those hours without issues. When greasing the pivots, always jack the tractor up on the weight frame to allow the axle to hang so that the grease will lubricate all the pivot surfaces. One other tip, when bolting the diff carrier to the axle, make sure its the right way round, otherwise the front wheels will try to turn backwards when driving forwards. Dont laugh, i've seen it done.
Good video, Robert is a great mechanic :)
Great to watch working on the tractor 🚜 👍 keeps older tractor 🚜 going 👍
Thank you so much for this video been looking for a Robert video for ages he is like a slimmer younger Father Phil bloody good mechanic please ask him to do some more videos with you even if he takes a camera in the tractor with him he is very good at explaining things .👍👍😀
Well

brilliant video phill roberts is a top mechanic as well knows his stuff
Great video, no fancy heated workshop with painted floor, and the tele pays for herself again doing the heavy lifting and providing a work bench. Fair play to ye lads, you’re not afraid of work or demanding of comfortable working conditions.
They might regret the working conditions when they are paying the price in their 40s
@@johnnyflat2138 no gloves either, should at least be wearing gloves to protect fingers when handling those heavy parts
Be interesting to see how the pheasants get on 🤠
Great video, 3075 has done well 👍
Brilliant video Phil 👍👍👍

phil you can use brake cleaner for the dirty in the engine, is cheap and you can make the tractor more tidy, and the rust in the cabine
Ouch, nasty. Glad everyone is safe.
Excellent video.
Well
Nice one Phil
Great outfit 👌
Our Sunday viewing with The best Farmers in the World 🌎.Had a rough day need cheering up with Farmer Phil and Liv and Father Phil.Good luck 🍀 wonderful video and love the music 🎼Thank you .🌎🌎☮️🙏☮️☮️☮️🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Good Vid
seen this happen before Hows the diff housing where pinion comes out . As they get flogged out and can cause the pinion to snap . The amount of farmers here in Australia grease the centre axle pivot with weight on the axle .Always lift the weight off front end to grease so the grease can get to the top of the pivot. I have even seen the front of the axle casing snap off
Great video when are you going to do the 70k special
Sounds interesting that 7610 sprayer, is it a chafer, can we see more of it as not sure they’re very common anymore and would be nice to see, keep up the good work Phil 👍
There might not be many of the modern laptop and add blue tractors about in 30 years that will be worth fixing like this model. The simple mechanical engineered tractors are the main vintage tractors working on many farms still. Almost 65 year old Massey 35s still doing a vital job on farms with older people getting the most out of small horsepower....
Great vid today. Good to c Robert on. Were did u get the beer cades???
Tom lamb has one of them massy sprayers
good idea with pheasants, the foxes don't actually affect the pheasants though, it only in the first 3 days from release when their eyes aren't fully opening all the way. 3 or so days in they will be able to sense the foxes behind them.
Good video phill, taught you didn't drink see two Guinness barrels there.
Bro Erics ????? Then again what dosent that farm have laying around ?
Hi phill have you had enough of a run to decide what dribble bar u prefer?
Its great to see lads of yer generation with interest in work and dare i say it hardship. Lads like robert and yourself are few and far between the younger generation dunno what work is ye are our future best of luck
Farmer Phil the issue with the front axle pivot and king pins is that they did not see enough of the Grease gun , Grease prevent that unnecessary wear and expence . You are lucky to have such a good mechanic.
15000+ hrs they were due to be replaced at some point.
@@OOpSjm We have tractors with 20000+ hours, never had this happen, youre talking shite lad.
Everybody could do with a Robert
U should clip the wings on the pheasants
My 3070 keeps losing the steering pressure and clutch we changed the hydraulic pump and filters still no hood any suggestion
What about the Massey with loader
Good video Phil . Robert always has lots to do nice to have a good mechanic around like Robert and father Phil . And you are getting better all the time .
Haven't commented for a while plenty of dealer's we're I come from South East England phil and liv and father phil
Phil take it from me you look after the Blue One. The 7610 is also a might machine. No electronics or fancy gearing in a 10 series so not much to go wrong. If it troubles you the colour spray it massey red 🤣 I get great encouraged by your videos. Thanks. Rab in Co.Antrim
There’s lots to go wrong ( pourous block ) 😞
Nothing to do with tractors. When you sow your pumpkin seeds in your tunnel this year, is it worth sowing batches at different dates so if they come to early or late just throw the small plants that don’t fit with your planting. Just remembered last year that the new tunnel caught you out. We enjoy your channel and congratulations on getting married. Cheers
Dam good chap is Robert, look after him cause he’s a father Phil in the making 👍. Great content Phil 👌. When’s the 6480 going to be fixed and where’s the 3690?? 🤷♂️🧐
Only so much time and room in the shop.

@@FARMERPHIL3690 a lot of people say that the 3000 series weren’t a great series. But that one owes you nothing. When you going to repair the 6480 and 3690?
