Dobric also went 3/4 from 3. The 5 other players who played with Joker who played 20+ mins went 8/18 from 3 (44.4%) while Joker went 0/3 from 3. If those guys were awful from 3 I’d agree, but can’t say it’s carry job when the 5 other teammates who played 20+ mins went 8/18 from 3 and 2 best teammates averaged 15 & 6 apg in the game. Serbia without Joker won silver at FIBA so clearly their TEAM and coach are pretty good (international wise) around him. Five teammates scored in double figures (between 10-17 points in a 45 min game). Thats pretty solid. I say all of this as a massive Jokic fan too 😅. PS how TF did Basketball go 11th in favorite Olympic sports to watch on a basketball channel?!? I agree and disagree. There’s no guarantee that Denver is completely missing the playoffs without Jokić. We haven’t seen it before so let’s not be so certain. More respect should be given to the Serbian team today though. Guduric and Abramavic played their hearts out and it made just as much of a difference as Jokić being clutch.

I know the club will probably give Mal the supermax, but I sure wouldn’t give him one without safeguards built in to protect Denver ultimately. Can they make it incentive based? I tore my ACL about 8 years ago, and I just don’t move the same when playing pickup. The ACL is simply an important stabilizing ligament in the knee. It’s not like a muscle which actually moves the bones & joints. So if Mal is experiencing any kind of drop off after his injury, it’s not solely because of an ACL tear. Many athletes have come back 💯 from those, and yeah some haven’t. But it’s more due to their whole musculoskeletal system not firing properly & their ability to not only have full RoM, but also stability & true strength. We also don’t know what Mal’s diet is like, which is even more important. We can make an educated guess from coming into camp last year in bad shape that it wasn’t great by any means.
He have continuous injuries, it is very questionable how long he can keep up like this. His overall performance is getting worse not better. 4 year deal is very questionable, considering the situation, Denver can rob their chances of winning another championship in that Jokic window.

Micic's processing speed is so slow and Avramovic has Main Character Syndrome, but when it's all clicking, Serbia look good. Not that they have any chance against the USA, of course, they simply lack the scoring to be any real threat. Jokic would have to have a 40-20-20 game, Bogdanovic and Micic would have to have a scorcher from 3, and the USA would have to have an all-round stinker for Serbia to win that one. As for Jamal, I don't care about him not having a good role on the Canada team, what I do care about is his energy and fitness, and it looks just as bad over the summer as when he doesn't play for the national team. Not that they have any chance against the USA, of course, they simply lack the scoring to be any real threat. Jokic would have to have a 40-20-20 game, Bogdanovic and Micic would have to have a scorcher from 3, and the USA would have to have an all-round stinker for Serbia to win that one.
As for Jamal, I don't care about him not having a good role on the Canada team, what I do care about is his energy and fitness, and it looks just as bad over the summer as when he doesn't play for the national team. Very worrying.
For Serbia is impossible to beat USA, but we can fight against them little bit better, but this selection of players can be horrible against USA, playing all tournament with 2 bigs at same time is awful for Jokic, Jovic is just much better fit than Petrusev or Milutinov at same time.
If you want to choose players around Jokic you will always choose Jovic, Kalinic and Lucic because you need to surround Jok with better defenders and shooters. Micic, Guduric, Milutinov and Petrusev are not players which you like around Joker.
And also Murray is not max player it is better to let him go, than bring him back at 50 mil USD extensions.
Kalinić, Lučić and Jović would gave us some chance for a miracle.
