I've been watching the NBA since 1970, and two of my all time favorite players are Magic, and Steve Nash. But Joker is the best passer I've ever seen, period.

@@rkymtnchi503 Maybe you are right. Time will say. I still think Bird was better, since he was even more killer. We have seen instances where the opposing team defends Jokic team mates very well, Jokic goes and scores 40, his assists drop, and Denver loses. That was not so usual for Bird. In his best year they had 50-1 at home, which is NBA all time record (there for nearly 40 years, and doe not look like it will be broken any time soon). And it was because of Larry. Larry was also faster, grabbed the same amount of rebounds while being a sf with his back broken in a period in which you had to bite for rebounds. I love the Joker, also one has to be honest and admitt he is not facing the Showtime, Jordans Bulls, Dr J 76ers, Hakeem Rockets, Isiah Thomas Pistons...competition was higher back then. Time will say.
@@josemanuelcaballero1162 you should look at Jokic's 4th quarter stats, he is a killer in his own right and he's ranked first in almost every Q4 key metric. It's a hard comparison to make, one has zero all-stars on his team and the other had several Hall of Famers on his. Both were/are amazing players though.

Every player including MJ has their pluses and minuses. People like to point out that the Joker can't jump over a dollar bill but that's like his only weakness....and he's a 7 footer so it really doesn't hurt his game at all. He rebounds with the best of them. Flashy jumps don't always translate into points on the board.
The only weakness would be his athleticism which hurts on the defensive end against the bigs of todays NBA
Jokic could play like this into his 40s if he wanted to. He doesn't take risks to get hurt, he doesn't need speed, he doesn't need athleticism. Just ball handling, shooting and passing skill.

The only question is whether he could maintain his ability to shoot well into his late 30s/early 40s, but if he can, then he could have that kind of longevity.

The craziest thing about Jokic to me is that he can literally control what gear he plays at. There are games where he’ll take less than 10 shots and will still impact the game at a high level but when he needs to turn it up he’ll give a team some of the most ridiculous stat lines that you’ll ever see. I still don’t think people are realizing just how great he is and what we are really witnessing. His combination of touch and passing at his size is something you wouldn’t think is possible. Also Jokic is definitely a top 5 passer ever imo Thinking Basketball did a great video asking a similar question and it really goes in depth in what makes Jokic so special would highly recommend it. I think you could make the case that Jokic is the most efficient player the NBA has ever seen. We have never seen a center pass like him, shoot like him, make so many decisions like he does….he dominates the game while averaging 14.4 shots per game…wow !!

Every pass is right in the pocket or hits the player perfectly in stride. The players don't have to waste any time or adjust at all, I find that more impressive than how good the passes look.

There was one we could have had , had he been healthier in the NBA: Arvydas Sabonis. You are seeing his son stack double doubles up. His father was even better, and bigger. The hell of a shooter, passer, rebounder. Ultra solid paint game and fundamentals.
