This is true. I always tell my students to "do what you already love doing in your new language". Play video games, or read romance stories or write poetry or sing songs. Focus on things you already care about
My name is Abdalls Ahmed from mombasa Kenya and I'am English grammarian and ienjoy learning Arabic grammer nahw and also i like you're teaching may Alwah bless you and his protection Amin
I understand exactly what you are saying about keeping one's learning within their field of engagement or interest. I began my vocab study by learning words that were used to explain my daily life.e.g. I set my watch to Arabic time and wrote my grocery lists in Arabic. I also create scenarios while driving in the car and I am sure there are many times that some words may not be correct but it does reinforce the words I know and I can reflect on the ones I don't later on. I only wish I had someone to speak with on a regular basis as I think that helps a lot. Thank you for your wonderful tutoring and videos and when I am unable to be 'live' with you, I certainly get on later and watch and take notes. Thank you again.
Intrinsic motivation is the key to success in learning languages and life at large, when we do something because we truly love it. This keeps generating encouragement and enjoyment despite difficulties. Learning becomes an end in itself, not simply a means to an end. While the reward might be material, the real award at heart is immaterial. When the interest is material and gained, interest will fade and might even vanish. This happens in relationships as well. Strong and lasting relationships are based on love, understanding and mutual respect. Those based on appearances or gaining personal interests are destined to failure.
I learned English in the traditional way, partly on my own, reading grammar books and memorizing words at first. I was already determined by the end of high school to study English at university, which I did. I had better options but learning English meant for me, a Syrian living in a small world, much more than learning a language. I would spend hours on end looking up words in my beloved Longman Dictionary and listening to BBC Learning English. Many fond memories! But I hardly ever spoke English in those years, partly because I'm introverted and partly because there was no one to speak with, except my classmates whose English wasn't good enough and they were not confident enough to speak. I would dream of talking to native speakers! My only option was making friends online, which meant only texting in those days (late 2000s and early 2010s). My written English is still better than my spoken English.
Assalamualaikum! Its weird. Myself personally i could read and recite the Quran. But Arabic itself as a language, to engaged in normal day to day conversation would be hard because i notice the best way to improve is when you have someone or a community that speaks it language. But i feel that might be an excuse on my part. But I do appreciate this channel and what you provide for the world. I apologize in advance but MasyaAllah you are beautiful.
I really needed to hear the message in this video !! Thank you so much !! I have been feeling for awhile a bit demotivated and was starting to feel like I’m not EVER GONNA BE ABLE TO SLEAK ARABIC!! 😭😭😭 but this video helped me to not give up !!! Just knowing you been through the same thing when trying to learn English made me cry cuz I have been doing so lately and your story on your journey resonated with me so much 💯💯💯😭💖💖💖💖🥲
May Allah reward you for your effort in teaching arabic. I learnt arabic through sarf and nahv. We spent one whole year memorising verb congugation tables and then another year learning nahv rules. Then I stopped learning due to other commitments.
The main reason, for demotivation, is because Arabic ( Fusha ) is a difficult language and you cannot use it, to talk to others, since people don't use it.
We in India talk in 3 languages English hindi malyalam on daily basis. Language is not difficult or easy but as she said how much us that in your daily life
you can use it , we in north africa use fusha when we talk to people from middle east because they don't understand our dialect . fusha is comprehended very well
Assalamualaikum ustaddha Raja, could you to help me correcting this 😊, please? Fiil Amr with Daamir Mutashiil, e.g. خذني (take me) but how if the verb I change to be feminine, is that to be like خذي ني ? Jazaakillahu khairan 💐💐💝
