The announcement that Bethesda will be releasing the Skyline Valley expansion to Fallout 76, is great timing.
Hit the like and subscribe, and make sure to press the notifications bell because we'll be releasing a follow up video of our impressions with Skyline Valley shortly after it drops.
We're looking forward to pressing further out into the wasteland towards Vault 63!

Another thing is that voice chat is indeed not really important unless you really want to do it, most people will actually mute some others because it’s normal to just emote and communicate that way

I was the same, I have played Fallout since Fallout 2, but wasn't sure about the online gaming. SO when it came out I literally flipped a coin between F)76 and Read Dead Online... I got Red Dead and after seeing the issues with F)76 I was so glad that I did. But in July 2022 I got FO76 for £10 and have played it since (now level 1240). I also started playing solo (like I had with every other FO game) and was Level 125 before I put on a headset and spoke with people. I now game with those people almost daily
The servers are shocking and I've never known a more unstable game, but there is a decent amount of content and it has the best community in gaming, PvP is very rare. I spent the first three months just leaving when I saw other people, because on Read Dead Online, it usually meant you'd be shot in the head haha
I wouldn't bother with upgrading picklocking and hacking, it is nowhere near as important as in other FO games. For faster XP, join a casual team, you don't have to do anything with them, it's rare that you'll even meet them, but you can get up to 100%XP boost
    Welcome to Appalachia

Thanks for the tips! It's also super reassuring to know that PvP isn't a big thing in the game. I can relax and just feel comfortable joining public teams for buffs.

I picked up fo76 just around the wastelander expansion. Then life pulled me away a few years.
Falliut 1st is almost predatory for how big of a difference it adds. But I view it like my old WoW subscription
It is a lot of fun in this game! And finally others can enjoy (ot not) my camp!

Im a new player in 76 also. Started because of the show. Enjoying the game so far I play on PS5.
I agree with you I didnt play 76 when it came out because of reviews glad I waited.
    A few Things / Options ...
    1. I started with shotguns also, but quickly did not like the range. I highly recommend going auto rifle esp handmade and fixer.
    2. I got fallout first. It is 12ish bucks a month, but the unlimited junk box and ammo is worth it. ( to me ) I cant image not having those.
    3. Once you hit 50 a legendary perk Master Infiltrator is very good. Lets you hack/pick any lock and auto open lower ones. I didnt upgrade it to leave some lock picking / hacking

The TV show was so well done and so true to the games that it created that nostalgia feeling for Fallout - there was really no way you couldn't go back to it if you were a fan of the games at all. I'm looking forward to diving into the new content that's just been released for FO76 this weekend when I get some time.
Thanks for the comments and the tips!

I just started playing 76 too. I like it but it seems I just spend more time dealing with the stash box than playing the game.

I'm a bit of a loot goblin, so I feel your pain.
I'm trying to learn how to be more efficient with scrapping stuff I'm not using or need.

the field of view seems to high, above 90 it´s harder to aim for me.

I play a lot of FPS games, so I'm just accustomed to a much wider field of view. Every now and then I'll play an old console game where the FOV is locked and I have the same feeling you have, but in reverse. LOL. Thanks for the comment!
