In this vlog I take you all with me on a trip that really took a toll on me. It was also an amazing experience working my first angel flight and I truly am so grateful for all those who serve our country. I was also able to fly off to see someone special after my work trip!

Julia, as a Veteran I want to say THANK YOU so much what you said in the video and to Mr. Riley my condolences to his family! I remember when I was coming back home from Desert Storm in 1991 I was in Heathrow Airport flying on American when there were 3 different people who gave me their 1st Class Seats, I told them no I didn't want it but they wouldn't accept my answer so I did take one and I was treated so nice that while I was waiting to board the flight I went to grab some food from a restaurant in the airport that it was paid for by another passenger that was on our flight. Kudos to AA for how they treat all Soldiers and Veterans regardless of the Branch they we served in.
I loved how the airline was so respectful to the fallen soldier-made me cry when I saw your videos as I know it brought you tears also. And the bathroom-6:)
It was such an incredible moment to experience, I was so thankful that our airline and the passengers were so respectful!
My entire family is former military, so the minute you said angel flight my mom and I lost it 😭. So grateful that the airlines are helping our fallen get home in such a respectful manner.
The countdown to your vacay is getting shorter! Hope the time until the vacay goes smoothly for you so all you have to do is relax 😋

So sorry for the long day! I'm a Philly boy, was born there and went back just last week to see a baseball game with my brother for my bday. (currently live in PA Amish country) Have been to the airport a couple times..I've seen better LOL. That bathroom I'll give a 6. Glad you got to reunite with Luna! When you were walking her I couldn't help but notice the gorgeous scenery!

@@JettingJulia working a 13 hour shift is rough. be Glad it's only rarely.
i normally worked 24 hour shifts for over 20 years, 84 to 98 hours a week in the oil patch. i used to describe it as up to 6 months a year off, but you have to take it in 24 hour pieces... with the advancement of technology, along with the bs nanny corporate culture, i've had to switch to 12 on, 12 off, sometimes for months at a time which is utterly BRUTAL. & no i don't get any scheduled time off in my job, which unfortunately went away when the saudis Deliberately Destroyed my industry by flooding the world with oil during this plague.
for those of you happy about my industry's destruction, lets see your tune when the saudis jack the oil price to $100 or $200 on a whim in afew years because the domestic industry is gone.

My gramma was on an honor flight a while ago. My mom went as a chaperone for another honor flight. So cool!
It looks like you mush have family outside of Boulder. Since I grew up i Boulder, I recognized the mountains.
A couple years later, we finally are done with that war; unfortunately no in time for that brave soldier...

You mentioned that you had a 13-hour day at the start; I thought there was a time limit (or are you allowed to go past it, if you hit the limit while in flight)?
And how do you adjust to the time zone changes-here, two time zones earlier going to L.A., then three time zones later going to Philadelphia? That has to have effects on you...?

Random question but what mascara do you use? They are soooo pretty!
Thank you! I use Loreal Paris Double Extend Mascara, it comes in a red & white tube. You put the white coat on first as a base then the black mascara (red side). I let that dry then I use a coat of Maneater Mascara by Tarte for a fuller lash look! :)

When I seen Angel Flight I thought you were referring to a flight where members provide free air transportation for passengers in need of medical treatment far from home. Angel Flight is also fitting for a flight carrying a fallen soldier, we learn something everyday, thank you.

For how many hours are you legally allowed to work before resting? When I watched an airport reality series a few years ago a Norwegian Airlines flight attendant said that they are allowed to work for 14 hours and that there's an exception if something unforeseen happens on outbase to work for 15 hours.

I've heard some super creepy stories about hotel rooms, do you ever check them to make sure there is nothing weird going on (personally I'm a bit paranoid so I turn off lights in bathroom and use my flashlight to see if there is anything odd)
The Angel flight was sad but poignant. Sometimes we lose sight of the cost of war and what some people give up so we can have our freedom. At first I wondered why his body would travel from PHL->DFW->FKT since I used to live in Philly and flew quite often to Frankfurt. But I assume since he was a soldier that a US carrier was required for the flight to his final destination. On a different topic, I notice in many of your vlogs that you wear your scarf knotted but at the end of this one you had it arranged differently. Just wanted to say I very much like this style much better. Fly safe.
John McMunn I was wondering the same thing because the remains usually arrive at Dover Air Force Base, just south of Philadelphia airport.
jjquinn2004 I have been under that same impression. I used to work in Dover and it’s been my understanding that the bodies are sent to Dover because they have a mortuary on base that prepares the body for burial. So my guess is, and that’s all it is, that he was flown to Dover, prepared for burial and then transported to Philly for transport back to Germany. And although Lufthansa flies, or at least use to, from Philly to Frankfurt, it is just my guess that military regs required him to be flown on a U. S. flagged carrier. But all that is supposition on my part.

Luna is named after my childhood dog, Sunshine, who I loved very much (Also a golden retriever). She died of heart cancer in 2014. Luna is my moon and Sunshine was my sun :) . Thanks for asking!

Seriously unless you are making upwards of 250k a year, your job sucks. Constant back and forth and all around. Constant jet lag and airports and hotel rooms is just a nightmare after a while. It is not a healthy lifestyle. No consistency
Some may say my job sucks however I love it ☺️ For me, I love to travel and actually feel anxious staying in one place for too long. The days are long yes & I miss home a lot BUT I get to live a lifestyle of traveling/seeing the world that I could not afford on my own.

number36420 there’s no reason to be so rude. She clearly enjoys her job and some people really enjoy this lifestyle. Every job has their hardships even people who make 250k. Nobody wants to HAVE to work. Just let her be, she seems so content and happy. Why ruin that?
