Brilliant! Well executed pattern! Made three (so far!) - two exactly the same size as shown and the second one I cut the fabric at 30 inches long by 10 inches wide. Came out nice but think the flap is just a little too long, so next one I'll cut at 26 or 28 inches long. The 10 inch width is perfect. For the fold lines, I marked them 4 inches left and right of center and 4-3/4 inches left and right of center (approximately the same as in the original pattern). Used velcro strips approximately three-quarters the width of finished bag to secure the flap. Love using velcro. Used thick interfacing on one plain cotton material, thick interfacing on another slightly heavier cotton and no interfacing on upholstery fabric. My suggestion is only use thin interfacing or none. These are great bags to carry your phone, wallet, some makeup, tissue, etc. Many thanks for this wonderful pattern!
Thank you so much for the information, I'm sure this would help our viewers immensely, those who are trying to make it more better. I'm pinning it.
An easy pattern to follow - personally I’d make it bigger with a longer front flap, but this video gives a good starting point x
I second that, the flap is indeed small but nonetheless a nice pattern.
Nice bag! I would say it has one seam, not just one stitch, though! :-D
Lol well technically it's only one type of stich 😂
@@missparadise879 Hahahah! Still not quite one stitch, though!
You mentioned " just one stitch", but there were so many stitches
Lol
one seam
Only one main stitch for the body of the bag.
a lot of folding and work for a small bag
Hahaha... True!
Bag beautiful, but the strap was entirely too clunky for the delicate purse. A self-fabric would have been more elegant
I didn't like that strap either.
I wonder if it was a recycled strap. I have a bunch of straps and chains that I kept from purses and pocket books I have thrown away. With this pattern and different fabrics, I can use them again, yaay!👍
Maybe you should use fancy chains or pearls beads
@@sylviadiana I thought that too. Maybe she just used what she had. Or maybe she likes a bigger strap.
And glad to see you use the word pocket book. My kids and grandkids laugh at me when I call my purse that. Lol. They laugh and say, "Nana it's a purse." LOL
@@premalatha955
I like that idea a lot!
I made one today and it turned out to be a great bag. I made the strap with the same material and put a pocket inside the back part so there is an extra pocket to put my cell phone separate from other things. Thanks for a great idea.
Deceiving! This is way more than 1 stitch...
Yes not an accurate description!! But the purse is very nice
Isn't it just single stitching, no fancy stitches etc
It did not mention one seam, it's the same stitch used for the entire bag.
It is the lack of language. She meant that she only used one kind of stitch. Beautiful bag, very well explained. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I think she means one seam. Not one stitch
Maine banaya , achha bana ,bda dimag ka kaam tha , but interesting
This is so clever! I've never seen this method before!
When you did the initial folds at 10 and 12cm...in my mind I pictured them forming card slots...the folds forming little pre-lined tucks for credit cards etc. That's how I felt they would turn out for some reason....and I thought oh that's clever, they're already lined in one step! Cool!
BUT...when they actually formed a ready done square base, I was like....erm, wut? 😳
I did not see that coming at all!
I think I'll make mine overall bigger...to use as a gift bag for toiletries for my friend, and not bother with the strap loops. Plus use a magnetic clasp and fit it on before assembling, so the prongs at the back of the clasp are hidden between the layers when sewed. I'll make it longer to start with also, so it will form a larger flap that will sit better when closed.
I really love this method though! Very clever, I can't believe I've never seen anyone do this before! Totally not what I was expecting! That squared bottom is also much neater AND stronger as a base, than cutting squares off either side and then sewing across the folded corners, of both the inner lining and outer fabric - which is the most common way to square off the bottom of a bag. I'm so glad I watched this now! It's going to be perfect for what I have in mind! 😘😘😘
Thank you so much.
Wow! Thanks! I love it! Learned new way of making the corners! 😊
I've been sewing cosmetic bags that are cut 8.5 by 7 with a seven inch zipper. I also add a 12" ribbon folded ribbon ( 5.8ths side) . In order to turn the cosmetic bag into a wristlet for wallet. If I can find the video and get back to this comment, I'll add it here
Hi, I managed to make a little bigger bag yesterday. Still have to add the stripe. Very clever design! Many have asked the final measurement, please, could you add them. Thanks!
Мне тоже нужен размер побольше,кто подскажет
Love this! Boxed corners, lined, no raw edges and only one line of stitching! Amazing.
Español
Exilent supurbbbbbbb ❤️❤️ can v make it bigger. In size.
Yes we can
@@DIYARTANDCRAFT 🙏🙏
The main thing to remember when choosing fabric is make sure the print is not upside down on the opposite side ... 😊
Not quite one stich but cute
Super cute little bag! Thanks for the tutorial. As for the short flap or a different strap - the pattern can easily be altered. The tutorial shows the construction very well. Love it!
В каком учебнике есть конструкция?
@@anisayakhina5408 sorry, I don´t speak Russian. If google translate is correct you asked which tutorial shows the construction - well, just watch the video. It shows everything in good detail. I was just complimenting on a video that is very good in my opinion.

Smart design! I can try sewing a bigger bag. Very nice outcome!
Exactly my thought
Excellent, I want to try this
Maybe the closure lap should not have that sturdy inside so it stay down?
I love it! I'll do mine with a different kind of strap though.

Shidddd somebdy don't know how to count 🤦🏽♀️
Great piece of engineering that we can adapt easily thank you for your time
You are very welcome
Agreed!
Terrific design! You are quite the engineer! Cute just as is, but I plan to adapt it to make a larger one using a magnetic closure and a long skinny strap instead of just tabs. BTW you might want to correct the typo in the title...change stich to stitch so people will find this easily when they are searching for "one stitch."
Change stitch to stitch? I'm lost lol.
@@laineyrootes3531 Her title says "stich." No second t. So indeed a typo. As the original poster stated.
Cool idea!
Hello, how are you doing my friend
ua-cam.com/video/7EYVA_00-fU/v-deo.html
I'd make larger ones because I'm a bag lady! Haha! I carry more than I need usually. And a lighter weight strap than shown. Good tutorial!!!
Where was the just one stitch? Not being mean, asking a honest question.
I like the bag though.
Cute! Over body shopping hand bag!
💞👜🤓spell. Stitch💞👜🤓😂thank. You😅😅heri😳good. Job
This is so cute! Thank you for sharing your creative talent with us.
Hello, how are you doing my friend
What a great easy and fast way to create a bag! Thank you for this great tutorial!
Madam bol ke vi das dia karo.zyada vadia rahega.mon varat ta nahi rakheya tusi?
It’s very cute, but you need to ditch that music !
Nice job!! Did someone manage to make a bigger one ? What would be the dimensions??
Good question
Just keep it in similar proportions to keep the scale right. Times existing measures by 1.3 or 1.5 etc then it will remain true to identity
I don't see a problem with dimensions. You can literally have any dimensions you want.
That looks so easy! I love it and am going to make one! I love the fabric, too! I’ve never seen anything like it! Thank you so much for this tutorial!
This is million dollar design.. I love it.. thanks for the tutorial 😀
You are so welcome!
Love the bag but would use a different strap
Have tried it and I love the outcome.....it's what I have been looking for... thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Many more than one stich.
Then only you watch video
Love it! I'll be making some asap! Thanks for this tutorial!
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you! Reminds me of when I would make a fan out of paper! Love it!
I also wondered about finished size, Im thinking of mini handbag for small granddaughter!
I tried it. Thanks it was really turnout same as urs bag
Awesome I will try it. Can you show the measurements for various sizes 👍
Great and easy way to make a bag. I'll ues a chain for that size of bag. The straps is too big
Wtg, custom fit and style
I do believe I counted 4 or 5 sewed seams🤦🏻♀️
Certainly more than one stitch!
Wow, good for you for creating this.
Hello, how are you doing my friend
Nunca 👎🏻 mostra a máquina de costura para melhorar o entendimento! A máquina é da vizinha?
That is the cutest little bag. I love it.
Hi, how are you doing my friend
wow! it was excellent. i would definitely try this. it will be very easy for me to do it.thanks .
Most welcome 😊
Lot of concentration in the mind that for the outcome of each fold to a final end result. Same way today computer programming, it is absolutely your each action is written down and fed in the computer. It's forefather is Macro. Once you know how to write macro with your sequence of operations then your work is easy. This idea really a well thought out bag making with minimal stitching.
For each action there is an equal and opposite action lol lol 😆
I can't be bothered with measuring and drawing all those straight lines lol
Cute mini purse awesome, from Bangalore
What is interface and what does it feel like.
covering എങ്ങനെ കിട്ടും
Nice, but I'd prefer a leather strap in the same color! Or braid a strap from the fabric.
Hermoso y práctico desde Venezuela ❤❤❤
Great tutorial! Yes it is one seam all the way around, with 2 sewing lines on the strap tabs. I love how it comes together! Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome! I appreciate your knowledge.
मैं और बनाने में अच्छा है लेकिन यूज़फुल नहीं है चैन वाला एक पैकेट होना जरूरी है ऐसा रखने के लिए
Oh how I wish I could do things like this .So beautiful
Apparently I missed the JUST ONE STITCH bag.
Wonderful tutorial! I'm not fond of the short flap closure, but that's a personal preference... mainly because no matter how small or large a bag I have, I will inevitably wind up filling it to it's maximum capacity.
You can easily make it longer...
Make a different bag then
Thanks for the inspiration! I made this quite a bit larger and used it as a gift bag and it's beautiful
Que hermosa bolsa. Felicidades y gracias por compartir.!!!
2:26 Use the ruler again, to swipe down on that crease; it's easier than your fingers. Thank you for the video and idea :-)
Very clever the way the bottom of the bag has been made.
Quite interesting. Can you please mention what is the size of the final ,ready purse. Just to get an idea to adjust the measurements according to our requirement
Essa é linda, mas acho que aba ficou pequena e ficou levantada e a alça é muito grossa para essa bolsa, no mais a maneira de fazer e maravilhosa.
Cute bag, but is much more than one stitch. I would have chosen a different strap/handle as I feel that one is too clunky, but each to their own. Good job though.
Amasing £ interesting on your tutorial i enjoy all

In strict words was one stich + a litle stich more in a origami bag, but is simple and easy
Probably meant one trip to the sewing machine.. :-) as the rest can be hand stitched..nice bag!
WOW! beautiful! love how the lining is done all-in-one...no fuss!
Very nice!!! Thank you, will make it today itself but will add a diff kind of belt
Can you find anything that costs more than what you'll showing from Amazon that's plain ridiculous? Why would you even show things that cost so much? Are they paying you big bucks for showing them. The bag is nice but small and the flap needs to be a little bigger so it Lay's down better when closed
This is really amazing. Thank you.
Hi, how are you doing my friend
The background music is a huge distraction in learning videos. I had to mute the video in order to concentrate.
Clever construction technique and a very sweet bag. Thank you.
😲! Wow, that actually made my mouth drop open! That's amazing! Thank you for sharing this video! 😁
I think it would have laid better the flap of the bag if… it was a little longer maybe? How would I do this? Any advice please apart from. Making the material longer which side would I need to make longer and where would my Measurements start etc? 😅any help I would really like to make it for my granddaughter ❤

Joli sac, musique cependant entêtante et vidéo trop rapide. Beau travail quand même
LOVE LOVE LOVE this easy way to make boxed corners AND this uses 1 fabric piece, and one stitch before turning. THANKS so much for sharing ❤️!
Bonsoir. Merci beaucoup pour ce tuto. Ce petit sac est superbe.
Are you french
I love this! Thank you for sharing. This will make an excellent gift for all the young girls on my gift list!
Wow! This is awesome!!
Brilliant!!!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. ❤❤
What a great little tutorial. Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, how are you doing?
Lovely little purse but in need of a good steam ironing! And a different strap.... way to heavy for such a tiny purse!!
So cute and easy to make. Thanks for sharing 😄
What an adorable bag 😍
I need more coffee for this tutorial though 😂
So cute, AMAZING! I had no idea where you were going with this, but WOW you created this so easily. You are ingenious!
I ❤ this in ANY size!
Thank you for sharing!
Hi, how are you doing my friend
Simple and excellent
Thank you 🙏🙏
Great idea for sewing with kids, maybe prepare the fabric for them and attach another piece of fabric to the other side, wrong sides together, so there will be a contrasting lining on the inside. To keep it simple for children, I would go for bright coloured plastic snaps to close the bag. In one afternoon, they can create a little project on their own.
That's a great idea!

Can you make this bag bigger for a cell phone & a man’s wallet to fit? And the flap to lap over to the middle of the bag. And the hook’s to be bigger & wider?
This is such an amazing pattern! I’ve never seen an easier pattern to follow that created something that looked time consuming to create! Well done. New subscriber. I also hit the notification bell. ❤️
Thank you so much!
Yes, me too! 💚☘️🇮🇪
You said " just one stitch & bag is ready "
It took 10 mins for u to show bag is ready.
Too confusing.
Thank you! I'm a musician and made one of these to store small items in my case. I'm also new to sewing stuff and this was very easy to put together, one of my first projects. I had to make a couple attempts at turning it inside out before I ended up with the right orientation, but it's pretty clever how it works.Clear, concise instructions without any unneeded commentary. Well done!!
Would it be possible to add and extra 'fold' to make it '2 pocket' bigger bag? So, 2bags in one?
What just happened? I'm going to have to watch again, I don't know the purpose of the folds or where they went!
Wow! Can you please make a video on fabric storage box with zip.
A bolsa ficou linda mais o botão é ridículo
I Don't appreciate being lied to.
Awesome
Very clever! Can't wait to make these for the grandkids!!
Hi, how are you doing my friend
The bag is cute but, the strap is terrible. You should of made one from Brown material.
1 stitch 🤔 hmmm I think you missed a few stitches out like about 300 stitches 🙄..
If you made it much bigger it will be better .🤷🏻♀️
