If you were to make the pouch without the second layer of fabric you’d understand why it is needed. However, it doesn’t have to be a contrasting color.
@maryavelis1157 and @Nancy Sewing Hub Very much agree with you on this. It looks too bulky. Much better without the pink fabric, which isn't seen when finished so wondering why it's included???
I love this, beautiful work, but i am confused, must give it a try with some scrap fabric, as i cannot work out if this leaves an open seam in the bottom of the purse? anybody made one?
Yes I made it, Looks beautiful but def. raw edges inside the purse! Could possibly top stitch the bottom as she did the sides but this would reduce the size inside and my phone only just fits as it is!
I’ve made a lot of these and the inside pocket isn’t sewn and it stays together very nicely. If the fabric frays easily then I’ll serge the inside seam. I love these.
I like the construction of this, apart from the unnecessary pink fabric, but at what point have you sewn up the 'birthing' hole, please? I don't see it in the video but can't imagine you've left raw edges inside somewhere. I definitely wouldn't want to leave this seam open. Thanks
It looks identical to another tutorial I saw and make for a living. I sew the ‘birthing’ hole(?) before I turn it around. I think didn’t watch the whole thing but because it’s almost identical it might be the same.
I just made this, it's beautiful but you are def. left with raw edges inside the purse! not ideal. ok for a phone but if you put loose change in it you would lose it. No point to the lining fabric either adds to bulk, already have stabiliser on outer fabric.
@@daughterofthedas Thanks for this. Sorry, I've only just seen your message. I'll take a look at other tutorials and see which I prefer. I'll need to make one of these, jsut to see what I think LOL
@@hueyandlexi Thanks for this. I don't feel raw edges are 'professional' so I'll maybe make one, just to see what it's like, then may look at other, similiar tutorials. :)
Oh I LOVE this !!!!!! I'm making one of these tonight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great pattern.
There really no need for the pink (2nd) fabric. Just unneeded bulk.
😊

@raylenenielsen5943 I've made bags like this constructed only 1 fabric, it turns out just fine. The interfacing is enough.

If the lining was a print would you put wrong side of lining against the interfacing?
That is a good question. I was wondering that too.

What happens with the raw edge down the bottom?
Nothing, it'll be fine
It isn't ideal. Doesn't look very nice inside.

If you watch from 4:29 to 4:50, you will see she turns it inside out and then does it a second time. The raw edges are completely covered!
How do you seal the bottom
It isn't. Raw edges inside.
Very nice ...it will be great if one extra pocket was also added
