Joey is the man. I never met a Hammond player (and I know quite a few, including fantastic gospel players - I myself am a rather humble player, I'm more at home at the piano) who didn't love Joey. It's not only his lighning fast, ultra-clean virtuoso playing, it's also his wonderful musicality (no "showmanship" just for the sake of it, everything he plays just feels great!) and sublime dynamics. Joey makes the Hammond talk!
I use to catch Joey in LA jazz clubs & He's So damn good I'd stay for 3 sets & experience gooseflesh much of the night & as we Note... Joey works with the best musicians on the planet wherever he's gigging
I knew Joey as a very young teenager when he lived on Franklin St in Selden N.Y. He was great then a natural.... The only one of the local gang who went anywhere in music I commend him for that.......
YOU ARE THE BEST MY FRIEND, EVERY NIGHT I LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC.HOW CAN HOW DOES JOEY PLAY THE BASS LIKE HE DOES AWESOME.AND FRANK VIGNOLA I SAW VIDEOS WITH TOMMY EMMANUEL VERY GOOD. PLEASE PUT SOME MORE VIDEOS ON YOU TUBE. THANK YOU GUYS YOU MAKE MY DAY. AND JOEY I WEIGH 371 AND GOING ON 69 SOON EAT WELL AND HOPE YOU WILL BE WITH US FOR A VERY LONG BYE.
Thank you HammondB200 for introducing me to this great organ player - Joe DeFrancesco - these videos are great. The guitar player and the drums player Are also quite good
@Phosonell I’m sorry “Phosonell”, you didn’t understand the comments you are criticizing. Everybody knows that Joe De Francesco is very good playing Hammond B3 Organ. No doubt about that. Doesn’t matter how he is. Absolutely, If he is fat or thin. Because we love him, we give him some advices. He must be aware that if he goes on this way he won’t last for much long time. Sorry, my opinion and long life to him, one of the greatest Hammond B3 organ player.
@TheMadMusicMan Ummmmmm .... I was just adding to someone else's comments if you read it more carefully. And it should have been pretty obvious it was meant as a joke. Relax, homie!
@phunkybis Absolutely NOT. Jimmy Smith was the teacher and mentor for Joey. Jimmy invented and pioneered the fantastic Hammond jazz sound and playing. Joey is the stundent who became a virtuoso. Just like Fats Waller was the piano mentor and teacher of the wonderful Art Tatum (another virtuoso jazz keyboarder - George Gwershwin- a virtuoso pianisty himself - once said, that Art atum should get a "speeding ticket" - same for the great Joey D. on the Console Hammond ;-)
HaHa! This song sounds so sweet but in reality the lyric in Italian is a man spewing venom about a "BAD WOMAN" that God won't forgive for screwing him over!
You were and are a legend, Joey.
Rest in peace.
I cannot stop listening this piece. Great improvisation, his best one.
I am having CHURCH over here 🙌🙏thank you Jesus for Joey& his trio😁💙
Joey😍🤗🌹💙💙💙💙

I'm an old Gal. I love Jazz and found Joey on here. I have since bought CDs. I like Frank too. Good stuff.
