    So far the best review online of the ST3 pinion. I have the same bike but without the ABS. I ordered it with ABS but when delivery was near they told me the Imperial Red version could not delivered with ABS because it would not fit inside the frame?? I could skip to the black version but hey..Imperial Red. So no ABS now and with some exercising on slippery roads I learned how to brake. The horn is indeed something of a joke. Especially in rainy weather it goes almost to zero noise. I have solved it with a front wheel blade extender from a 3D printer company called Van Zijp Techniek and also added a 3D printed cap over the horn hole and problem is solved. Still the horn is a bit stupid so I added the best bell on my bike, the Spurcycle bell and O Boy…that sounds great and so beautifull, almost do not use the horn anymore. I am very happy with this amazing bike and yes… the prize is ….well, lets say this, a bit high. But I calculated the fact that I am not using my car anymore for commuting and that saves me a ton of money and not to forget the pleasure you will get biking and looking at all the car jams around you. For me this is one of the best buys so far and it makes me smile every day, gives me a healthy feeling and nature loves it. Some warning is needed, other bikes and especially cars don’t understand the speed that is coming towards them so adjust your riding speed when needed and you will have admiring looks and thumbs up. Looking forward to the future because this revolution will not stop. Thanks for your great review!!

      Another victim of the imperial red here. 😉 I also extended the front mudguard with a solution from tekku in Switzerland. Thanks for the tip with Van Zijp! I was searching for something to close the small hole in the rear mudguard with and they have just that. 👍🏻

    I started with an ST2, almost everything was changed on the bike.
    Almost under warranty but how many times I found myself on the side of the road pushing it (I took out breakdown insurance so much that it was serious).
    How many days off or recovery time I had to take because I didn't arrive on time.
    How many days the bike was at the dealership (we're talking in months over 3 years).
    In principle I do 10,000Km/year I sold the bike with 28,000Km, when it should have had almost 40,000Km!!!
    I still had to take care of a lot of repairs (fork bearings, front wheel bearings, etc.)
    Info from the salesperson, I had no luck, it was the Monday bike.
    I keep my confidence and after 4 years on the ST2, I buy an ST3
    Woe is me, even more problems.
    The bike had not yet left the showroom when the front headlight was not working properly, the brakes were mounted in reverse (front for rear and vice versa).
    Today the bike has 9000 km over 2 years, I should have had almost 18,000 km
    It has been at the dealership an incredible number of times for non-stop repairs.
    Still the majority under warranty, but still with the same drawbacks.
    At my expense fork bearings at 2000Km, broken spokes on the front wheel (then it was replaced under warranty), recently, front wheel bearings.
    The bike is not even 2 years old and I am more than €500 out of my pocket in repairs which should be covered by STROMER
    The bike is not entry-level, I bought it for almost €9,000
    I can only advise anyone against buying a STROMER, they all have problems.
    And as long as you are under warranty, you will only get a small amount :)
    Regularly it is necessary to replace the motor wheel (1500€), the front wheel, the brake set, the motherboard, the control console, the V-shaped headlight, etc.

    Great review, very useful! I just bought a Stromer ST2 Pinion and I live in Switzerland, I can tell you, that the regenerative braking is GREAT! I live uphill and going down on a pretty steep road, I can enable the max or second-max regen level, and don’t have to use the brakes at all.

    I also agree on the screen’s position.
    I bought a ST3 Pinion without ABS. I don’t really think it’s pertinent on it. I have it on my motorcycle and appreciate it, not on a speed bike.
    Can’t wait to get it (3weeks to go). Bye bye Moustache FS Friday 👋
    I have been doing 10.000 km / year on speed bike since 2018, time to change it.

    Nice review. I'm happy to drive a Stromer ST3 Pinion without ABS and I enjoy riding it every day. I changed the tires to Schwalbe SuperMoto X. They feel a lot more comfortable than the original once. The Schwalbe Pick-Up should be even more comfortable. The position of the Omni display is really not good to look at during riding. :-)

      I can feel slight vibrations from time to time. Haven’t figured out yet if they occur at a certain speed or on a certain terrain or a combination of the two. Power state of the motor and selected gear might also play a role. It doesn’t occur that often and it’s not strong, so I don’t worry about it. I love my ST3 in imperial red! 😍

    Thank you for your excellent review. I'm curious why you didn't consider the Riese & Muller Super Charger 2. This e-bike appears to be a more suitable and cost-effective option for your long-distance touring needs with its two 625 wh integrated Bosch batteries and drive train options, including the fabulous Rohloff speed hub with e-shifting. I used this e-bike to cycle across the United States (10,000+ km).
    You paid Euro 9,308 for a bike without a front suspension fork. After factoring in the cost of the fork, which is a necessity for long-distance cycling, the total cost of the bike came to Euro 10,543. The ABS system is malfunctioning in your video, which is a serious safety issue.
    If you add the extra battery, which costs Euro 1,990, the total cost increases even further.
    As an independent reviewer, have you considered purchasing the R&M Super Charger or other e-bike with a Rohloff E/14 shifting, two integrated batteries, and other necessary components?
    I am also curious about the regenerative braking capabilities of the ST3, as you didn't discuss the capabilities of the motor, if any, to assist with braking and charging. Most importantly, what is Stromer going to do about the ABS? This cannot be left unresolved!
    Sorry, sorry, I have many questions following an informative video.
    Let us know when you are touring the Washington DC area in the United States.

      Hi Gregory, Thanks for sharing your thoughts 😄. 1) It's not my bike. I got it from Stromer for three months for the review. 2) I am working on R&M to get one. Brands are not always willing.... 3) Suspension fork. On mountainbikes with a descent they are fine, most (e or s) trekking bikes come with a crappy one. More maintenance and less luggage capabilities. 4) Regenerative braking: as far as I am aware I did discus it. It helps with saving brake pads and getting energy back but in a flat country it is hardly useless for this. Braking yes. 4) Questions...I love them. 5) Will do! Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Cheers, Gijs

      @drieshuybrechts5194 8 місяців тому +3

      I'm still researching for myself but for what I understand is that indeed the mid mounted motors have a lot of loss over the chain/belt and that you'll get to 45km/h with ease with a 44Nm rear motor but not with a 85Nm mid motor.

    • @zeveroarerules
      @zeveroarerules 7 місяців тому +2

      I have a panasonic mid engine with 95Nm, souped up with a badass box. It does get me to 44km/h, but the slightest hill and I have to push harder. That doesn't happen with an ST5 (slightly beefier engine but about the same torque).
      Rear and back engine, can't really compare :) The effort you put in on a mid engine is way more even with that higher torque.
      That said, I'm faster of the line with my current bike ;-)

    • @Ropetable
      @Ropetable 6 місяців тому +1

      its torque directly to the road not through the drivetrain. so its 1:1. if the bike has a mid motor, it will go through the transmission and the torque will even in the easiest gear be more than halved.

Maybe YT does not show the other one because of some words you use. I think the F word. It's not me! I respect your opinion for sure; if you like the display and don't want an other one that's fine with me. In the comment YT does not show - and I will be so kind to take out the F word -: "I don't mind what a bike costs 5K, 10K or 15K"... And that is where you and I are different. I do care. And on a bike the ABS should work no matter what the price is. On the rest of the comment I am not going to respond for reasons I leave to myself. Enjoy the Outdoors and Enjoy Biking! Cheers, Gijs
