We all must just be in that phase of doing our best to emulate the creators we look up to LOL I think I've gotten a *bit* more natural since this video.
My parents put this movie on in I think 2020. I was a little too young to understand how great this movie is, but last summer when I was getting into skateboarding, I watched this movie again. It’s now one of my favorite movies of all time, and the scene of everyone screaming after the car crash makes me tear up a bit every time.
the interraction at 15:50 looks so special. This doesn't feel like an adult talking to a child. It feels like two people who are on the same frequency of something unique having a heartfelt conversation.
“and over these last 4 years” BRAH i can’t believe this came out 4 years ago 😭 you killed it again joooooooeeeee, i love how personal you get in these ❤️
I think that’s why I loved this movie. I was in the 90s in Southern CA. It reminded me of myself as a child and felt home. Good movie. My older brother was skate baoardimg too.
I was born in 96 and relate so much. Wasn’t really a skater kid per se growing up but I did love the culture and style. I got into skating via pennyboarding like my junior year in high school. I moved to Cali a couple years ago and would watch Mid90s all the time. I was staying in downtown Oakland and would skateboard (with real board) all around downtown and this movie greatly added to those vibes. I’d just smoke weed, listen to music and skate all around and this movie was like the perfect backdrop to that chill time period. I’m from Virginia and had never been to Cali before moving there. I probably rented this movie like a dozen times lol I love the actors and figure it’s supporting them so idc. Will always love Mid90s and associate it with that chill, trippy time out in Oakland for a few yrs. ✨👌🏿🛹💯
The 90s was the last great Decade I was lucky to be born in 91' to experience alot of it. when the 2000s hit I knew alot would change technology getting better Video games,Movies,Cartoons would never be the same, I miss the 90s and a great Era of my life👍
Mid90’s is a great film, I’m glad Jonah Hill got to experience making a movie. Growing up with Kids and whatnot, it’s cool to see sort of a revamp of that. Also great video 👍
I've watched this a year ago I think and I really liked it. Watching this whole video made me gain perspective on this movie and like it even more. Overall a very calm sound through the video!
I’m still skating. With the ogs of my home town. And it’s. A lot like the movies🫨🥹🤙🏽 I’m in Alaska and I’m glad the skate culture is perfect and the best out of anywhere. Even tho I never skate anywhere else
For about a year now I’ve had a script for a Mid90’s video essay that I just haven’t made the time to create yet, and damn does it suck that you made the video 2 years before me lol. Hopefully this doesn’t come out as spiteful towards you, I’m just a little sad you made the video way before I even thought of it, and how it took me this long to actually watch it. Not enough people have seen this movie, and it makes me happy to know that other people really loved it as much as I did.
@@MaltiBLT hey dude, I’ve been in your exact spot before except for me it was an over the garden wall essay I had an idea for before I saw someone had already made one very similar to what I was planning. That being said though Id say just make it anyway! Especially if you’ve got it written already, it’s not like I have the copyright claim on mid90s video essays haha, I’m sure youve got your own perspective that’s worth putting out there. Comparison is the thief of joy etc etc Thanks for watchin!
Man if you didn’t have this type of childhood like the rest of us you’re lucky and unlucky. I know my parents were out here trying their best working long hours. Luckily I found a family of friends to teach me how to skate. AND drink and smoke and run away from the cops. But that’s my childhood and I wouldn’t take it back.
I’ve never watched the movie but enjoyed what you had to say. All except when you didn’t degrade it with the filthy “f” word. Why on earth didn’t you do that? Reread those sentences with that word and you will find that it absolutely would’ve added to it. Your voice expression will say it all.
It's very funny being born in 1994 if you ask older millennials, I am not a 90s baby but you ask the Gen Z and it's "what were the 90s like?" 😂 personally I classify myself as a child of the 2000s
I was born in 93 I skated so much and still skate to this day. I saw this movie when it first came out in the movies and I went with this girl that I liked and when the scene came on with the girl and the kid being alone she was freaking out in the movie theater saying we were pretty much watching child corn and it was so awkward and like 😅 yea that girl didn’t really fwm before that and didn’t fwm really that much after that. She was also a Hawaii girl that would visit my neighborhood in fl. Weird coming across this video randomly.
reminded me how good that scene between ray and stevie is. makes me wish i could watch it again for the first time
Dude fr it’s so fuckin emotional
how does every not popular video essay narrator manage to sound the same? (compliment)

I AM a 90s kid, and although I didn't skateboard the music in this movie was basically my life.

Probably my favorite movie. But I have to legitimately prepare myself to watch it and I can’t always finish it because I relate to it in a way I hate.
