    Mountain = more green. Skye = more brown. Mirage = more tan/sand color. Managed to get one for $100 off ebay and I'm loving it so far.

      $100 is an absolute steal. That's awesome!

    Excellent overview of the F1 Mainframe and a couple of the Vapor series bags. About this time last year I got the F7 Kite 🪁 in Mountain 🏔️ and really like it as is. But then around early November I got the F1 Mainframe and attached the Kite bag. I like that setup too.
    Today I just ordered the Vapor 7500 in Skye (mountain was out of stock) for $111. I would have thought about the 5000 but they wanted $209 for it during their Spring Clearance sale. 😃

      @@DeerandDonuts I bought it for a combination tree saddle, climbing sticks and western big hunting pack. You are welcome 🙏 and I can tell. The versatility and modularity along with the carrying capacity is a big selling point.

      How do you like the tree saddle? Tom is thinking about switching to one.

      @@DeerandDonuts I liked it but I didn’t spend enough time in the off season dialing in my system for carrying and ascending. I tried during season and got frustrated so I sold it to my cousin who absolutely loves them. If I had the money to buy another platform and a couple of the ropes I would try it again.

      Good to hear that it's not a 100% no, sounds like it's definitely a learning process

    Have you tried using one of their rifle scabbards with the F1 and a Vapor? I assume you'd have to remove that mesh around the bottom of the frame for the scabbard to fit between the rails.

      I've tried using the scabbard in that exact set up. The scabbard attaches through the laser cut Molle on the back of the frame in front of the vapor pack. The bottom of the scabbard will run right along the frame and poke out at the bottom with no need to move the fabric at the bottom. I personally went away from the scabbard because of how it pokes out at the bottom. I would try to sit or drop my packs when hiking and always got paranoid the tip of my barrel would get messed up, but my buddy Shane in some of our other videos still uses that exact set up. I talk about that more in my Kifaru Gun-Bearer video. Happy hunting!

      @@DeerandDonuts Thanks for the reply. With that answered, you know anyone with the J34 Just One? It's between those 2 and the primary factor is comfort level between the F1 and internal frame of the J34. Can't seem to find much info or negative feedback on the J34, but I'd imagine the F1 would be more comfortable.

    • @DeerandDonuts
      @DeerandDonuts  Рік тому

      No experience with the J34, but I would think the F1 would carry a heavy load more comfortably just based on design and it has a meat shelf too!

    • @Swearengen1980
      @Swearengen1980 Рік тому

      @@DeerandDonuts I would think so. The meat shelf would be a nice to have, although not a necessity to me. In the south, anywhere I'll hunt, I don't have too far to go. My dumbass is stuck between what's practical (my primary use, day or week hunts or short camping) and more affordable vs. wanting to plan for the future with a do-it-all bag. Maybe I get the opportunity to hunt out west, maybe longer hikes, even a tiny part of me thinks about survival/SHTF LOL. Potential uses say go with the F1 and 5000

    • @DeerandDonuts

      The F1 is great for its overall versatility. From the bat wings to the vapor series it has a ton of different options to fit whatever your hunt is.

    top-rated? by whom?

    • @DeerandDonuts
      @DeerandDonuts  Рік тому +4

      I would argue most people. A quick google search of the "top rated" or "best" western hunting backpacks and you are hard pressed to find a list this doesn't appear on.
