- To continue my series of mouthpiece comparisons, I wanted to test out a louder and more articulate excerpt in a bigger space. Thankfully, the Longy School of Music, where I teach, has a lovely recital hall - Pickman Hall, which I could use to record in.

That Sasha Romero piece sounded really great in the hall!
It's funny how you mentioned how different it played in this video, I was thinking the exact same thing while you played!
These videos have been great not just to listen to different mouthpieces, but to get a more intimate look at some of these excerpts.
As primarily a commercial player, I've enjoyed listening to your play these excerpts and I've tried to incorporate some of the things I hear in my own playing.
Glad it's helpful! It's been really interesting seeing how different pieces react in different environments. I might do an outdoors example one of these days and see what sticks out then
Do you have any spec info on the Witser mouthpiece? Rim size, cup depth?
I don't yet - but I've emailed Hammond to see if they would be willing to share!
Hammond just put up an instagram video about this - it's a shilke 51 rim, a bach 5g cup, and a .281 throat. pretty cool combo
I know you didn't show it in this specific video but in other videos I see you playing crazy fast, and is that like, your slurinh ability? Is it a doodle articulation? Or more of a double and triple tongue
There are some with slurring across the partials quickly, and mostly are with double and triple Tonguing
What about bass trombone?
One day! But if you want awesome bass content check out @AidanRitchie
