I used to play more jazz way back when, and have always been happy to sub with big bands and play commercial work, but honestly I ran into so many other jazz trombonists that really loved and cared for the art form that I'd love to recommend some of them to you! I'd check out Brian Drye, Jacob Garchik, Jennifer Wharton, and Max Siegal, off the top of my head, from the peeps that I know.
hey, i enjoyed the video and ill definitely try this to warmup. also, i have an issue with my chops, it feels like after just 20 minutes of playing easy music (only goes up to f4 usually) my chops are completely busted and i cant play. this even happened at a band concert one time, and i was playing the 1st chair music so it was problematic. i havent really had this issue for now, in 8th grade i could play b4 for hours before my chops got busted but now (freshman year) i have trouble playing easier notes. do you have any advice for me?
one thing joe alessi says that i really agree with is that we need to develop our middle and low register. i've heard so many young tenor players that can play high pretty well but then the sound disappears in the low range. rochuts and cimera etudes can be a good way to build that, and rochuts 8vb can also show a lot of areas to work on. hope that helps!
@@WilliamLang Honestly idk what any of those are but I'll do some research on it. Also I'd say i have a pretty good middle and low register, I can play with decent tone and I can play a B0 pretty consistently (granted I can only do it using embouchre tricks). Thanks for the advice!
Fantastic channel. Love your tone. It’s not blatty like so many players these days. Thank you.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you're enjoying it
Thank you so much for these wonderful tips. Ill be incorporating this into my routines. Love the content!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you like it, and sooner than later I'll also be adding the third and final high note routine I use in my daily work.
What a fascinating video, congrats!!😊
Nice job man, your a great trombone player and I was wondering if you could play any jazz! Thanks!
